WAB: More Ambulance Service Turmoil
A few months ago the County Commission gave the ambulance service $250,000 to open a station in the north end of the county. This was not discussed and approved in the budget committee as procedures require. Later they came back after realizing there was more coin in the trough and were given another $35,000 to cover benefits. So for this one station citizens are committed to $285,000 per year. Is the same amount allocated for the Elkton station? With a budget now well over a million dollars why is the ambulance service in such turmoil? Why is there such a large amount of un-collected fees? What could possibly be the justification in asking for a 40% pay increase for one employee while acknowledging others who work in the same department are being paid so little? Allen Barrett

I was told that the whole year budget was 1.2 million and they have aleready used that and their year isn't even half over WOW someone needs to really do something about that. Doesn't seem like the person running it is doing that goood of a job budgetting things.
You want to know what the problem is refer to above blog.
It was in the paper a few weeks ago that they are needing another 95,000.00.What is this for? What happened to a yearly budget and having to operate on it?

why is ever comment being deleted?
Anonymous, November 25, 2007 9:51:00 AM, asked:
why is ever comment being deleted?
You mean the 38 deletions in this thread? Simple -- it was the "third coming" of the Moron Spammer.
The "first coming" of the Moron Spammer was a day or two after my mother died. The Moron Spammer posted dozens of little obscenity filled tirades... not in an effort to make any sort of rational point, but merely to ruin the blog for everyone else. I got tired of having to use the delete key, and I turned on comment moderation. (And for the next two months, nothing got posted.)
About a month after I got the blog running again, the Moron Spammer returned. He was an insult spewing pottymouth, again, but he made a rather stupid mistake: he admitted that he was the one who had caused me to "shut down the blog" before, and promised that he would keep spamming me until I shut it down again. Well, threats don't work all that well on me, and you will notice that -- despite the massive flood of posts I've had to delete -- I've not turned comment moderation back on, nor will I.
The "third coming" of the Moron Spammer involved a change in technique. Rather than post short, obscenity filled messages of his own, he started reposting an entire old thread -- hundreds of messages long -- over and over again. Each repetition added 80K to this thread, for a total of over 3 MBs (had I not deleted them all). Given that many people are still on dial-up connections, and that it takes about 5 minutes on a dial-up to download 3 MBs, it's pretty clear that the Moron Spammer intended to make this blog unusable to as many people as he could.
Alas, the joke is on the Moron Spammer! While he has to go to a bit of work copying and pasting his spam -- and then typing in the jumbled up "verification" letters -- it's no trouble at all for me to delete his postings. See, when I read the blog, there is a "trash can" icon at the bottom of every post. If I click on it, a box pops up asking if I'm sure I want to delete the message. Then I click "delete message" and it's gone for good. So, it literally only takes me two quick clicks to undo the vandalism that the Moron Spammer invests so much more time in creating. What an idiot!

Kendrick, I would like to clear up something...and I have no reason to lie...this "coming" of the spammer as you call it is not my work, although I will admit to the first two comings being mine. I must have started something. I cannot claim these latest ones. Sorry. Face it, you have at least two, probably more, people who like to screw with you!

I'm not a spammer and my comments were deleted, then reappeared, then were deleted again....I hope it was a mistake and not another coverup. I'm in the schools, I know what's happening and it's not a magic show...it's plain old fashioned, greed, malice, incompetence, and "kill the messenger" mentality....I've been a victim as have many other wonderful teachers, all for the cause of a select few who can "do no wrong." It's all documented, and it's common knowledge in the community, yet it continues....There's a "payoff" of some type for somebody and it's not the kids, the good teachers, or the community that is benefiting. Dig deeper into the grants that have been awarded....someone should be held accountable. I can't, I have to work, but that doesn't excuse myself or anyone else for not trying to "right the wrongs." I wish I wasn't such a coward, but I thank you for this venue; at least I can vent and tell the truth without fear of backlash.

THANKS for your comments. You have spoken as a voice in the wilderness. It's the seed that transforms barren wastelands into lush pastures, wildflowers, and forests.
The seeds you nourish seek light, but can not see a covered flame. Seek the fire of truth with knowledge to pass it on. Until the match is struck, the trash doesn't burn. Until the first bird sings, the forest is quiet.
WE NEED MORE!!!!!!!!!
