People like you are so dispicable that the only way you can justify taking up space on our planet is to try and make someone else feel bad. Mr. Barrett tried to be part of the solution, little boy, (or girl). What have you done?

Please re-read your own post. Are your comments also a perfect indicator of your character? I bet not, so lighten up on your criticism of others. Get your point across without the name calling. Do as you say Mr. Barrett did and turn the other cheek. We should all try to be more be more civil in our posts. It only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch. Let's ALL do our part to make this blog a good thing again. Don't be one of the bad apples that spoils it for the rest of us.

Thank you for considering my post.

Yes, 794 is close to 800, and 800 is 80% of 1000. I was just rounding off.

I look at the glass as being half-full and not half-empty. That is to say that nearly 800 voters had more confidence in Mrs. Vanzant than they did in Mr. Stewart and barrett.

I too would like to see the negativity stop, but we both know that's not likely.

Why don't we concentrate on trying to fix what is wrong in Giles County?

I wholeheartedly agree with 2:30. While the relationship between barrett and Mr. Stewart remained somewhat secretive (in my opinion) throughout the campaign, I believe barrett was the biggest reason why he (Stewart) lost. People didn't like the way barrett and a few of his followers attacked Mrs. Vanzant. From what I heard in talking to people, that won a lot of votes for Mrs. Vanzant. More than that, Mr. Stewart made a huge mistake by not denouncing what barrett and company were trying to do to Mrs. Vanzant. But it truly is over now, and we all need to move on.

So Vanzant thanking a convicted felon, cocaine use, distribution and sale of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, was Ok but speculation about Barrett's level of support for Stewart was a terrible thing.
Seems once upon a time a convicted felon was considered worse than a troublemaker. Guess that was long ago and far away before wrong doing became right and right became wrongdoing.

So what if Mrs. Vanzant thanked a convicted felon for helping in her campaign? She didn't slip around secretly in doing so. Perhaps the convicted felon has turned his or her life around. Perhaps the felon has repented. You don't know that.
You know, there are lots of people who are convicted felons for drug use, but that doesn't make them mean and nasty people. I know one or two of them who live quiet and normal lives these days. Granted, they made mistakes as we all do in life, but I would take them any day over a troublemaker.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm sure you would 7:07 but even you should agree that taking drugs and destroying your life as bad as it is isn't as bad as selling drugs to kids and having their lives ruined to.
The relationship between Stewart and Barrett may or may not be as you say it is but the one between the county executive and the convicted felon is close by her own words.

What I don't understand is the fact I hear so many people dissatisfied with our local government but yet little to no changes were made with this election. I personally did not vote for any incumbants hoping changes would be made. Change can not be expected until the voters stand up and do something about it. So from now on when I hear people gripe I am going to ask "Did you vote?" and if they say no than I will tell them you do not have the right to complain than.
All the name calling needs to stop people voted these officials into office and we will have to deal with whatever comes until the next election and hopfully then people will take their right to vote more seriously.

I had asked the question WHEN did the election office admit they made an HONEST mistake. Response was BEFORE the Hearing last week. So, who did they make that statement to? Judge Jones? Then why would a plain ole member of the public know about that?

Let's make 3 times. As for as the election office being audited, I laughed at that post and ignored it because that don't happen.

10:14 It dont happen but the local elections office should be audited by the State. There have been other 'mistakes' made but go unreported.

Both of your charges are lies. Got it? The election commission admitted to the clerical error right up front and before the hearing. Ok?
Are you people planning to cause as much trouble as you can for the next four years? Can you not see who the chief troublemaker is in this county? Apparently not; it seems that you gleefully defend him.

FLASH, FLASH after a world wide search of every corner of the earth and some areas of outer space someone has finally been found that makes Janet Vanzant look intelligent.
Vicki Coleman put on a display of ignorance and stupidity in court that had even the judge shaking his head and asking her if she could read.
Not only did she show herself to be illiterate she revealed the total worthlessness of a public education
and that the degree she had purchased from Argosy was a waste of money. While claiming to be working on a PhD the greater need is remedial classes in Pre-Kindergarden.
If her actions in court are an indication of what she will be like on the commission not only is the 7 district in trouble the whole county is in danger. Our only hope is that obama will take her on vacation with him and she will be out of state for the next four year, she already has proven to be out of mind.

According to YOUR rules, the trash posted at 4:50 should be immediately removed. Or did you write it anonymously? This hate-mongwering is doing nothing for the betterment of Giles County.
I'll be anxiously waiting to see if you remove that post or if you will remove mine for simply pointing it out.

Why should wab be ashamed of the truth. I wrote the 4:50 entry and said nothing but what was revealed in court.
Coleman under oath at one point stated that she went to one house and got two signatures but had no idea they were on her paper, who put them on it are where they came from. If that ain't dumb what is?
Why do you think a judge would ask her if she could read if she was giving any indication that she was
able to demonstrate that skill?
LOSER is the only word that fits her and those who support her.

Why isn't the derogatory post about Mrs. Coleman deleted? I'm specifically talking about the one at 7:48. Is that because you agree with it?
By the way, I did some checking, and guess what? The judge did not ask Mrs. Coleman if she could read? Did you make the 7:48 post?

Is it true that you went to the nursing home posing as an insurance agent in an attempt to get Mr. Black's signature? That's the rumor? If you did, I would think the NAACP would be interested in that little tid-bit of information.

Does anyone know if it is true that barrett went to the nursing home posing as an insurance agent to get Mr. Black's signature? I believe Mr. Black's daughter tried to testify to that effect in court. Is it true oir not. If it is, that's an all-time low for wab.
Lot's of people were talking about that this morning at breakfast. The talk was not favorable to barrett.

I have never posed as an insurance agent or anything else that I was not fully authorized to be. I have never been to the Nursing Home to visit Mr. Black, I have never spoken with him or even seen him. I did call the nursing home and asked about his middle initial in an effort to differentiate between Mr Black senior and his son. The Nursing Home took my number and had Mrs Gilbert call me. She told which person was which, I expressed sympathy for the difficulty she was faced with taking care of an elderly parent as I was in the same situation and had just experienced the deaths of both my Mother and Father in law in February this year. I have absolutely no idea or knowledge of what she was talking about as far as a package, visiting her or her Dad, those thing are just not true. In fact at the time I was supposed to be at the Nursing Home I was in Columbia. Allen Barrett

Come on now. You already knew that both of the Blacks had the same middle initial. And why did Mr. Black's daughter say what she did in court about your being at the nursing home if you were not there? Why did an employee at the nursing home call her and say you were out there?

To 6:26 Did you miss your morning coffee or just wait up before your brain? Of course I knew they both had the same initial that was the problem
I needed to know what the "D" stood for. One would identify the father who happened to be in the nursing home and the other was the son who happens to be a felon. The election office had disqualified the signature on the basis it belonged to the felon, I did not want to be surprised by a change of identity when we got to court. What was revealed was the signature was disqualified because it was not the signature of either man but that of the daughter.
As I said I never went to the nursing home, try and comprehend, I called there and they had the daughter call me. The nursing home policy is to not give out information on patients instead they notify the family and they can contact those seeking information. You can go to the nursing home and speak with the supervisor who was on duty the 10th, he can tell you that I called but was not there.
Your problem is that you have too little reading comprehension, too much hate and too inclined to gossip to understand and accept the facts of life. Allen Barrett

Please don't fret yourself about my reading skills. I do just fine and am well read.
I would still like to know why Mr. Black's daughter said what she did in court about the "insurance agent" situation. Why did she say an employee at the nursing home called and told her you were there? Did the employee lie? Was it a case of mistaken identity? Do you suggest that Mr. Blackl's daughter was telling a lie? This was stated in court and would not be considered gossip. I just want to know. Ok?
