One purpose of this blog has been to provide an outlet for information unfiltered by the government and those in powerful positions.
One thing that has become clear is that some, primarily the one small minded enabler of wrongdoing known as "rabid" who post excessively under different anonymous listings but never offers any factual support for the most outrageous lies, prefer ignorance over information, gossip over facts and lies over truth.
Because some like "rabid" had no respect for the truth and continued to display the low degree of ethical character that allowed them to misrepresent the truth, post information as factual without any supportive evidence and just plain out right knowingly lie I have suspended the privilege of posting comments.
I apologize to those of the 361,686 who used this sight responsibly but once again
those with the scruples and character of such destroyers of America as Madalyn Murray O'Hair, Jane Fonda, Barry Soetoro aka Barak Oboma, George Soros and "rabid" have caused those who seek truth and honesty and a strong nation to suffer loss of rights and privileges at least temporarily.
When I can feel more confident that those like "rabid the liar" will not dominate this blog with their disgusting lies and hypocrisy perhaps we will again be able to share comments about events taking place in our great county.

You raise a good question Mr. Barrett: Why do some people fear the truth? You say in your thread that you shut down the blog because people like "rabid" had no respect for the truth and continued to post outrageous lies. I believe there were people on both sides of the election who could be characterized as "rabid" for their candidate.
Early on, most of the mudslinging on this blog was aimed at Mrs. Vanzant and you. Some of it was warranted while other comments were not. For example, someone referred to her as a “nobody” and a “fool” and this person supposedly didn't even live in Giles County. People said all kinds of things about you too but you never made any attempt to ask posters to refrain from making these type statements about you or Mrs. Vanzant. You didn’t seem to care what was said about anyone and you never threatened to shut down the blog.
That is, until the conversation on this blog turned to your relationship with Scott Stewart. That is when it seemed you got really upset. I do not know if there was more to your relationship with Mr. Stewart than either of you said and, frankly, I don’t care anymore. But it did seem to be a legitimate concern for some people. You were the one who shut down the blog shortly after these comments were made making it appear to many that YOU were the one who feared the truth.

9:56 Please re-read my comment. At no time did I say anything derogatory about anyone. I simply gave my views on what I thought and reasons I felt this way. I never stated it as a fact, just my point of view.
You, on the other, called me "rapid" (I think you may have meant "rabid") and a "fruit cake" with no evidence to back it up or courage to sign your real name. You even refer to me as a "she" which is just an assumption on your part since you do not know anything about me.
Mr. Barrett may chose to delete my post and that is his choice as blogmaster. I'm sorry you felt the need to stoop to name calling and rambling. It just shows what type of person you are.
Why chose now to shut down the blog? There's been malicious postings and out and out lies posted on here long before now. You say you require factual evidence but you yourself has posted lies before and when called on it say you heard it from a reliable source you believe. Maybe the person who told that reliable source lied to them in the first place. Factual evidence should'nt be a quote from a reliable source but actual proof on paper period.

I wanted to say yours was an excellent post. I too heard lots of talk about barrett and his relationship to Scott Stewart. It is my opinion that it was much much closer than it may have appeared. It is also my firm belief that barrett and his buddies helped Mrs. Vanzant to victory by their smear campaign on this blog. I warned wab over and over that people do not like attack dogs and that one day I would remind him. That time is now.
Will they stop attacking? I doubt it.
You mean stop attacking like you just did, 7:09. It's not rocket-science folks, you don't like the messenger, get off here and go get a new one. All this simply proves you folks are obsessed with Mr. Barrett, and slamming him anonymously somehow makes you feel better about yourself. Not a one of you has offered a hand of reconcilliation to him or any other of the unsuccessful candidates, just smug, gloating. I think they are lucky they didn't get elected to what must be a pit of vipers if some of these posters have any connection with the "winners."

Everyone I talked to said, They didn't like Vanzant but liked Mr. Lake less and he owned the radio station and newspaper, so they didn't want him having any more to do with Giles County. They were afraid Mr. Stewart would let him help.
Just shows you how jealous how some people are including you.
Why would there be a need for an election if people didn't run against one another?

From whom would a person learn if all they heard was agreement?
There has never been a requirement that you or anyone post only in agreement with me. The privilege of posting was abused by you and some others by a continual posting without responsibility.
The rules are now in place to help create some responsibility in posting by requiring that to post unsubstantiated statements, accusations or libelous statements the poster is required to post their true name and phone number on their post.
If you choose to post anonymously you certainly can but your post will require supportive information if accusations or challenges are made. Just because you my feel a thing does not mean it will be accepted as a post.
To make it simple you can post anything you want if your true name is attached, anonymous postings require more supportive information.
An example is when I posted the term "enabler of wrongdoing" in reference to you I did so by including my name.
Were I to make an anonymous post and refer to you as an "enabler of wrongdoing" that post would be deleted unless I also placed as part of that post the reasons why you are an enabler of wrongdoing, such as you willfully spread untrue gossip, you supported a person in an untruth, you continued to lend support to someone who was proven to be engaged in wrong behavior.
As for defending yourself against a lie you simply need only to prove that it is a lie, but please understand feelings are not significant enough to prove or disprove a matter. Allen Barrett

The problem is apparently in yours and my perception of the word responsibility. I consider your behavior quite irresponsible. On the other hand, I see it as a responsibility to challenge you when you misbehave. So, it's just a matter of not seeing the word in the same light.

To 9:49 you have supported Mrs Vanzant is situations that were proven to be wrong behaviors such as numerous untruths. The latest being the out right lie that she told and spread about the budget having to be approved by 1 August are else the Rescue Squad would have to be parked, the ambulance service would have to be suspended and county employees would not be able to be paid. You supported her in the very destructive behavior of refusing to support the Pilot Fueling Station at the interstate and defended her when she refused to explain her actions. You supported Mr Strickland when he was exposed as cutting the grass at the Post Office on County time. You supported Mrs Vanzant giving full time county benefits to part-time employees. You have supported budgets that were claimed to have been cut by 15% over two years but the amount of spending had actually gone up during that time. You demanded that people turn over their evidence of wrongdoing to the proper authorities then when they have you attacked them as troublemakers. You have attacked anyone who has revealed anything negative against Mrs Vanzant, Mr Jackson etc. Your hypocrisy has been atrociously revealed numerous times. The problem with the truth is that once it's exposed and accepted as the truth people then must do something with it.
Many deny the Bible as the truth because they don't want to accept it and live by it and it's the same for our daily lives. If we accept that things are as they are proven to be then we become responsible for the way things are therefore it is easier to deny that truth as truth so that we do not have to be responsible for the way things are.

It's so hilarious that you keep deleting my post about your talking Bible at a time like this. I think you need to study it rather than pop off scriptures. Were I you, I would study some passages that teach about hypocrisy and feet that are swift to mischief. While you are studying, why not bone up on what the Bible teaches about obeying civil authority and about loving our neighbors as we do ourselves?

First of all, what Bible was I using; what part of the Bible was I quoting from; which verses did I reference? None, for once again you simply make things up or rely on your very limited understanding of words to make them fit your perverted way of seeing things.
The word Bible was used to describe any book that is preeminent in authoritativeness, that could be "The Fisherman's Bible"; "The Hunters Bible", "The Shooters Bible", The Baseball Coaches Bible". It's not just the Christian Bible that people refuse to accept as authoritarian and follow.
As for hypocrisy I would suggest you begin a study of your own beginning with the four types of hypocrites the Christian Bible speaks of. Perhaps you could get your pastor to lead a discussion of these four types of hypocrites but I doubt you would attend as self revelation can be very painful.
As for "obeying" civil authority Did Moses obey the civil authority of Pharaoh or the Word of God; did Peter obey the civil and religious authority of the Sanhedrin to stop preaching Jesus? Because it is legal to kill an unborn baby should we be obedient and follow that example? Had civil authority been obeyed would we not still be under the king of England and his appointed nobles instead of the imperial obama and his nobles? No my friend when civil authority comes in conflict with God's Word and what is right you can count me out as being obedient to civil authority.
As for loving my neighbors I have a long history of loving everyone even the unlovable and I treat everyone with equal respect and honor until they prove themselves unworthy of respect and honor.

How do you know Barrett removed someone else's post?
Did they tell you or does your computer tell you when someone post where you can read it then.
I check this blog out once a day and if it says a post was deleted, I wonder what they said.
He has deleted three or four of my posts because he didn't like what I had to say. Now is that free speech? Hardly.

When I delete a post it shows that the post has been deleted, a number of times I have even posted the reason for a post being deleted. I have no idea what you are talking about when you say your posts have disappeared with the large number of times you have double and triple posted in the past perhaps you have not completed the process. Suggestions for topics have been posted as threads. Thread topics always offer the opportunity for solutions but unfortunately there are some or more accurately one, who does not seek solutions only opportunities to personally attack and criticize me. To 6:23. First of all the 12:52 post was an admission of error on the part of the poster as they stated, "Correction left hand for those who are eager to point out my error. Caught it before you!", so what is the problem?
You expose one more problem with gossip from unknown sources and lies from those who have no respect for the truth. I have not posted under any name other than my own regardless of what "you heard".

In my eyes your comments are junk 6:20. My opinion, and I am entitled to it. I know of no agenda to speak of unless you call following policy, procedures and rules an agenda. What I think is childish is the way you continually try to circumvent the truth at every turn. This "error" on the part of the election office and Ms. Coleman is unfortunate for those wishing to see her in office. However, rules are rules and they are not made to be broken because we don't like the outcome. If there were no recourse for the "error" having been made, then this would all just be history. But, that is not the case, now is it? Barrett does have rights the same as you and I and he is exercising those rights. It appears you wish there were no recourse. Perhaps, in the future all candidates seeking to be elected will be more mindful of this situation and exert a little bit more effort to make sure things are done correctly.
