E-mail topic: Crappy Toilets at the Agri-Park?
When is the County going to fix the Taj Mahal toilets at the Agri-Park so that they work? County paid dearly to have toilets plus a non-working septic/sewer/pump system installed by a local contractor (approx $250,000 ?? ). When there is an event at the park it costs nearly $200 PER DAY to have the storage tank pumped out as the pumps wont push the goodies out to the highway 31 main sewerline.

Since citizens went beserk at the thought of Speer's $7M sports complex can't imagine how a $12M would go over. And didn't I hear somewhere that the $12M did not include the purchase of the extra land needed? So in the meantime, why don't they get the toilet block fixed. Begining to wonder if Speer ain't missing something upstairs.
The county is responsible for the Agri-Park not the city.
No one is mistaking the county and not the city responsible for Agri-park, however, its being looked into about the feasibility of building sports complex at Agri-park, with Speer heading up project.
With the County Fair coming up , dont forget to 'go' while you're there . Get your moneys-worth for the taxes you paid for non-working toilets . Make a donation to County Government ! Ask the County Exec when she's getting them fixed .

Hey !! There's an idea !! Maybe the toilets could be made into a CHEESE factory (milk from Giles Co cows !) with cheese sold at the Fair to pay for daily pumping . All the sour grapes from the blog might produce two cups of whine to go with it and washed down with Canadian bottled water from the Giles County spring ??
Talk about making lemonade when the Commissioners give you lemons !!

I have attended the demo derby at Agri-Park for over 15 years now. This past Saturday night I stepped right into at least 2 inches of the ever present sludge that gathers on the lower end. That's not unusual but each year I think I'm walking around the crap, and instead step in it because it's everywhere. The bathrooms were in their usual state, NASTY! Doesn't anyone ever clean them? I was afraid to allow my 2 year old daughter to sit on the seat. The derby drivers have to stand and sometimes LAY in this crap. The derby is the Lions Clubs biggest draw and brings in the most money that HAS to benefit the county in some way regarding revenue. Why can't we do a complete overhaul on this facility. It would bound to be beneficial in bringing in other events and that's sure to bring revenue into our hotels and restaurants! If any commissioners are reading this, please enlighten me as to how much money is appropriated for Agri-Park and how it's spent! I don't see any being spent.
You can come and use the newly rentivated bathrooms at the schools Especilly at the high school. That is if you don't mind coming out with cigarette smoke all over you, maybe the smell of pot. For a good smoke fix just go to the one across Hastings office. He can't get off his lazy fanny to open his door and smell. He doesn't even know school is going on much less care if the kids are smoking. The school system wants to fix up what kids could care less about and will still ask to go home or use the teachers bathrooms to pee.
