If you, david, donm, and the rest of your entourage are so unhappy here, why don't you move? This has been suggested to you previously. Why not move and start up your own utopian city? Then you guys could finally be in charge of something.
By the way, is it not just a teeeeeeeny bit hypocritical of a "man of God" like yourself to be on a blog spewing the things you do? Would you not think that of someone else? It doesn't seem a good way to lead others to Christ. There's an old saying that goes something like this: Try to be as tolerant of the shortcomings of others as you are of your own!

funny how you mention Christ he too attempted to stand up to corruption (the Roman's and individuals within his own faith). he too was viewed as a radical, spewing lies, hypocritical etc. Not trying to compare WAB with Christ but you seem to worship an individual that was crucified for uncovering corruption.

Unlike you, I like Giles County the way it was and essentially still is. It is a beautiful place where people can still live with some degree of individuality and freedom - things you hate.

Your obsession with tax increases not only breaks the back of home town old business and long time property owners, it eliminates the prospect of attracting new business. Thank God we have people like Billy Beets to tell you where you can stuff your wheel taxes and other get rich schemes.

There are few places like Giles County left & endless places like "New Yoke" & "Boss Town", places where you are told what to do, how to do it, & then take your pay & give you what's left! Save yourself from a heart attack or stroke & move to where you'll fit in. I'm sure they'll be impressed with what you have to offer. Maybe you can get your picture taken with "Teddy" or Barney Frank! Barney might like that, because you are invisible. We aren't buying a change to your lifestyle!

Very poignant statement. If he's not happy here, surely he could move to somewhere more in line with his high standards of decency and morality. Right?
So, you suggest that I don't know what's happening unless I listen to those you approve of? Shallow indeed!

Would it not make more sense to simply seek the "higher standards of decency and morality" for the entire community instead of telling someone to go find those characteristics somewhere else?

The point remains. If unhappy, simply move. This is STILL a free country, isn't it?
And it is ridiculous of you to imply that I am like a chicken because I point that out. Absurd!

I repeat why move from the place you've chosen to reside instead of making that place better for all those who residence there.
I suppose there could be much debate as to whether this is a free country or not.

Chicken is charitable - you're afraid to be known. every time you try to feather your nest, you deficate in it. You are the unhappy one, but too afraid to move, so the pea between your ears expects everyone else to move.

We like what we have & You'd like to have it!

No sense in getting ulcers or exacerbating your apparent mental illness about living here. I repeat: If you are unhappy here, simply hop a bus. We will miss you, I'm sure. Should you take my advice, I hope you find a community where everyone agrees with you and where all the citizens are just as smart as you are.

hey annoy-mous please explain why it's better to move away than to simply fix the problems. Even you at times have admitted that there are problems in the land of milk and honey.

Back to 11-23 x obviously you can't find your way there - can't read nor comprehend.

Happiness is living where you want, not craving "more", & not really wanting to change anything.

Unhappiness is trying to force people to move because you hate happiness. You need more because you are empty. Your bottomless cup will always be empty. Anything would be better than your consumate void.

Constantly running around in circles, doesn't make you a big wheel. Higher up isn't smoking a joint. Clean as a whistle isn't going through the car wash with your windows down. I'll bet you hide on trash day.

Again, why don't you go somewhere and set up your own utopian society where you and those of your ilk can be "in charge" and where you can tell the populace how best to live their lives? I just thought it was a good suggestion since you are so unhappy here in this corrupt and problem-laden county. You may recall that Jim Jones did that at Jonestown?
In closing, let me say that pretending to know it all doesn't make one intelligent anymore than being a native Giles Countian makes one stupid and uninformed!

Stupid is not a result of being native to Giles County it's the result of closing your mind to any and everything you don't like. You need to rethink your proposal since I have not tried to tell you how to live only that I don't want a bunch of arrogant little demigods telling me how to live and making me pay for their extravagant lifestyles.

No, my definition of stupid is one who arrogantly presumes to know best for others and to assume they are the ones who are stupid if they don't believe every word.

Based on your definition of stupid I could not agree with you more. That is why it is so important to question decisions and actions of some of those in charge. Clearly some have decided, based on our definition of stupid, that they will govern in a very stupid manner.

Yes, this is a free country and Pulaski, Tennessee, just happens to be a part of this free country. If Allen Barrett wants to speak out about the corruption, then that is his right. He has just as much right to live in Pulaski (Giles County) as anyone else who lives here. As far as him being a minister, God didn't call him to be a wimp; he called him to preach his Word, and if you have ever read the Bible, then you'll see that God's Word is very harsh. Jesus Christ was not a wimp; He stood up to people; he uncovered corruption; most people despised Him because of what He stood for and they still do. Maybe some of you should practice standing up for what's right before it's all taken away from you. I do believe we have several wimpy sissies who write on this blog, and you prove it over and over with your stupid anonymous remarks. Some of you would be better off living in a communist country because it sounds like that's what you want this country to be -- you don't want anyone standing up for our rights. It's not only Allen Barrett's rights that he stands for -- but yours and mine. You want to let the city and county officials run this great city and never question a d- - - thing they do; so what if they continue to spend the people's money by raising taxes. You have no idea how many people there are in this city who cannot pay their bills each month and have to go to others for help. Do you care about them? NO. You only want everyone to be like yourself and sit back on your a-- and let others rule your life. When others rule your money, they also rule your life. And that's what you want.

Judge not, lest you be judged - is the favorite passage of those who have good reason for not wanting to be judged.
