Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament
It was announced today that the Babe Ruth Southeastern Regional Baseball Tournament will be held here in Pulaski this summer. $2500.00 was requested and approved for this event.The expectation in that in addition to the favorable publicity and good will this event will bring there will be at least nine teams with family members that will be in attendance during that week of games. This should prove to be a big boost to our local economy. Allen Barrett

Shouldn,t see no negative comments about this. $2500.00 sounds like a very good investment. I just took my child to a state tournament in east Tennessee last year and my family and I spent $2500.00 dollars while staying in the town that this tournament was held. The hotel alone was $1000.00. Not counting that we had to eat out every meal,Gas, ETC. and we were only 1 Family with one child.
I agree the county can use the revenue this will generate. Lets just hope our county officials use the extra dollars wisely.
Yes, we had better hope all those corrupt and dishonest county officials use the money wisely. But that is frightening, given their lack of understanding and low intelligence, isn't it?

You are mistaken, my friend. I was merely stating what so many negative thinkers post on this blog. Could you not see the satire in my post? I'm not the one who is constantly trying to stir up a stink. But I am among those who oppose it. There is a difference.
Most of the money that would be generated by this event would not go directly to the county government but to individual merchants and service providers but even then the taxes paid should generate much more than the $2500.00 cost to the county. More that the money it would be a very welcomed good will and publicity creator.
Only the weather could turn this great event into a negative for the county and those participating.

This for ONCE is a great idea and is a win/win for the money spent. Good direction and way to spend our dollars.
After the STUPID amount they agreed to give Sam Davis Park.
1-1/2 TIMES what it would cost to fix, this sounds like chicken feed.
Can't beleive they will be stupid a second time and not give this little bit to them after such a BIG mistake next door.
A commissioner ask for 2500 he problely will get. The tax payer ask for 2500 and they don't get.
When is the tournament? anybody know?
