Why Does The County Executive Continue To Ignore State Law?
Again, during the County Legislative Meeting the County Executive showed her distaste for state law by ignoring the requirement that everyone who votes on items who do or might have a conflict of interest must declare that conflict prior to voting. Not one single commissioner declared a conflict or possible conflict even though four have a direct conflict and at least two more have indirect conflicts.
I'm sure this will be explained as a "mere oversight" but the statutes make no allowances for "oversights" and when there is a consistency in those "oversights" how can that continue to be offered with a straight face.
Now, speaking of "conflicts of Interest", on second thought this topic deserves it's own thread.

Why don't you either call Mrs. Vanzant and ask her those questions or report her to the state right now if you feel she is breaking the law?
I am a commissioner and Mr. Barrett is actually 100% right in saying the law was violated. I personally had no conflict this morning so I didn't even think about the matter. I don't know the reason they didn't but commissioners should have declared their conflicts as required.
Sounds like Obama doesn't it.
No wonder Mr. Jackson had a spell with his heart this morning.
Was this an oversight with all the commissioner, the County Executive, the County Clerk and the County Attorney all present, maybe.
I can't help but wonder since there is an agenda published why a small statement couldn't be placed at the bottom of the page.
One question though since Commissioners Harwell, Holt, Brown and Houston each have direct conflicts of interest why are they voting on these matters at all?

Why is it that this is the ONLY PLACE I have ever heard of how county officials are willfully breaking laws? Can you explain that? Are you aware that channel 5 is the only news media in the whole state that dug into and exposed the Upper Cumberland Development scandal. Were they just being troublemakers or were they being responsible in actually finding out the truth about what is going on.
If Barrett or anyone else cites a law then shows how it is being broken is that really troublemaking by Barrett or by those who passed the law or by those breaking the law? This is the kind of thing that makes Barrett and others refer to you as a enabler of wrongdoing. Attacking the messenger and supporting the law breaker is enabling the lawbreaker. Would real Christians do such a thing?
Just because you haven't heard what's being said does that mean it's not being said. You need to spend more time away from your computer and get out among people more. Ask what they think about a property tax or wheel tax and those who are pushing them and spending like the money grows on trees.

I too happen to believe barrett posts anonymously, which is dishonest if he does. Why? It's because he often spouts off that he posts his name along with all his "supportive" evidence and truths. That's a laugh.
As for pictures of me in my house, I can only think of one, and that was with my granddaughter. We have lots of pictures throughout our house but most are, if you please, my wife, kids, and grandkids. I have always balked at having my picture taken. You really should start taking longer breaks between posts.
