Religious Victory or Another Dupe By The Liberals?

This past week saw a tremendous coming together of democrats and republicans, people of many different religious faiths and people who follow no religion to stand against the abuse of power by the current administration in demanding that all institutions, including religion based, provide health insurance that would guarantee free birth control including abortions to all employees including spouses and dependents. It did not matter if this went against the most basic beliefs of those institution they were ordered to comply. This was the most open attack, by this administration thus far, on our guaranteed Constitutional rights to religious freedom, it will not be the last.
The backlash was great and the president finally came on TV and stated that he was changing the requirement and employers would not be required to pay directly for birth control and abortions but that he was ordering insurance companies to provide the services for free.

Here's part of the problem with that. First by what power does the president presume to order private companies to deliver services at their expense? Second, does anyone with an active brain cell actually think the cost of these services will not be spread out in other areas of policies and those religious institutions would then pay for the birth control and abortions indirectly? Third, what this president did was gain a victory for himself and those who support population control through the use of abortions by proposing a tremendous policy that was repugnant to most all and then draw back to a less repulsive position, The end result is that if this policy is not changed the goal of providing free birth control including abortions to all females is implemented. There is absolutely no authority other than sheer arrogance that allows the government to intervene, dictate and control of the religious beliefs and practices of Christians.

I strongly urge you to contact your representatives at all levels and tell them how disgusting this policy of government intrusion is. Do not be deceived there is a war against Christianity raging in this country right now and it is being led by the ultra liberals and aided by those who accept the incremental chipping away of our religious rights.

Birth Control should have been more prominent about 60 years ago.

WHAT A CROCK !! Talk about a perverted reading of a proposed law ! My interpretation, which is as good as yours, is that all the White house were trying to do was ensure EQUAL RIGHTS for women whether they work for a religious organization or not .
It is a proven fact that when contraceptive services are offered the costs paid by insurance companies (and thus , they who pay the insurance companies, like Giles Co School board ) go DOWN over time as there are less problem births and fewer children seeking medical resources .
The Catholic church (Papal conspiracy ) made a stink even though polls have shown that at some time or other 98% of catholic women have used contraception .

IT'S TIME FOR RELIGIONS TO MOVE INTO THE 21ST CENTURY.

To M Luther This is an action that has little to do with contraception and everything to do with interference with religious beliefs. The question is not should women be given free contraceptive devices including abortions but whether the goverment has the authority to order a religious institution to do something that is diametrically opposed to their religious beliefs.
You are absolutely wrong to believe that insurance companies will decrease their premiums while giving millions of dollars out in "free" stuff. There are no "free lunches" everything has a cost.
One of the problems today is that too many people have swallowed the idea that the government is supposed to take care of them regardless of how irresponsible they behave. This kind of thinking has turned millions into parasites gobbling up all the benefits while those who are actually disabled are left without. Some people deserve to be helped but that does not mean they should be given cell phones and more spendable money than those who are paying the bills are ending up with. To many lazy worthless acting bums are voting based on their own selfishness than what's best for the country. We have a complete moron who complained about the 5% unemployment rate in 2007 who caused the rate to go near 10%. He has implemented policies, some against the Constitutions, that has caused gasoline to double in price during his administration, increased the debt by four trillion dollars in three years, empowered unions and confiscated money from those who had legally invested in the auto industry. He has destroyed the economy, and divided the people
The only positives thus far is he has made Jimmy Carter look less incompetent and John Kennedy less
criminal.

For once you have presented a post for which I am in total agreement. Good job.
Yes, I believe Obama will go down in history as the worst president this country has ever had. My biggest fear is that there enough people out there to re-elect him in spite of what he is doing to this country.
Why aren't Christians everywhere demanding that he be gone? Why isn't that message being shouted from church pulpits all across this country? I go to church with people who vote Democratic and yet would say the Bible teaches against abortion and homosexuality. Do you have any explanation as tom how they harmonize Christianity with those things? Ignorance will be no excuse when we stand before God.

Why has no one decried this as a sexist law as well? Or are the insureance compaines to be required to provide free condoms as well. What about free vasectomies?

3:45 makes an interesting point. Does the government provide free visecttomies for men. Are prostate examines given free of charge, more men die from prostate cancer than women from breast cancer

Robert, that statement is baloney. Many men have prostate cancer but die of something else. In most cases it is a very slow growing cancer whereas breast cancer is not.

You are wrong 3:34 depending on whether you count the total number of deaths or the percentage of those with the cancer. Prostate cancer killed over 35,00 in this county in 2011 while 39,000 women died from breast cancer in 2011. Over 230,00 women developed breast cancer in 2011 which is a declining number over the past five years. Over 250,000 men will developed prostate cancer in 2011 an increasing number over the past five years. One in every 36 will die of prostate cancer on the other hand womens death rate has dropped to one in 49. By no means are these numbers to be celebrated the reality of cancer in all people is a very serious and deadly situation. Very few people have been untouched by either breast or prostate cancer among family and loved ones.

5:32 Yes, and I am one who has been touched by losing a family member to breast cancer.

But, are you mad? You state over 35,000 died in this county in 2011 from prostate cancer. We haven't had as many as 30,000 people in the county in the past several years.
