I am very sorry but I have not received any e-mail but the one where you asked me to post an earlier one. I have been having some issues with my e-mails for over a month now, some comes through but I can't send any out.

I have continually tried to post on the blog, and have been unable to. Please post the following verbatim from, Giles concerned Citizen.
For those of you who weren't at the meeting, including you Allen, let me see if I can explain this right.
Debbie Braden was appointed the interm Director of Schools. There is no question of this. The board was choosing between 2 people. Debbie Braden and J.B. Smith. They were both asked to speak about their desires and qualifications for the job. J.B. spoke and stated that the board should give the job to Debbie Braden. Debbie Braden said she really did not want the job, but if the board wanted her to do it, she would, to the best of her abilities. As far as I know, J.B. was never offered the job as Director, nor was he promised the job if he did well. He was offered the job as Interim Director through, and was asked to put in his application to become the director. Also, I would like someone to tell me where it says, in any rule or law, that the interim director must live in the county where they are employed. Also where does it say that the Director must live in the county where they are employed, I know there are a lot of ideas and opinions about this, but I would like to know where it says in Policy, Procedure or Law, that the director, or interim Director must be residents of Giles County. I agree that they should, however, where is it written.
Now as far as hiring TSBA to do the front work for hiring a new director, TSBA has time and resources that the school board does not have. TSBA can put the job on the internet, they are in touch with other states. I would love to have someone from inside the county ie JB Smith, but, I also want the best person for the job. As good as JB is, there may be someone out there better than him. Now for researching TSBA, I found out that tehy will get applications, research the applications, have community meetings, and then forward the best applications to the School Board to interview and decide. I hate the fact that they are spending 10,000 dollars But I would hate to have a worse director than Tee.
Now as for those who think the school board is doing a bad job, do you tell your board members that? Are you in contact with them? The ones that were just voted back in, if they are doing such a bad job, and you think you can do better, why don't you run? I talk to my board member quite often I don't think he is doing a great job, but he is trying his best. Remember your board member is just one of seven.

If you are voting in the Pulaski elections I have something I am going to share with you that involves the honesty of some of the city council members who are currently running for re-election. Although I have had this audio recording in my possession for a few months I only listened to it last month and have not had time to do any thing with it. This recording is public record and I will let you know how to obtain your own copy from the public source to verify that I have not manipulated the audio to distort what is being said. I find these actions appalling and I feel I need to address this as well as some other issues that are a matter of public record.
If you plan on voting early or know some one that is planning on voting early please wait and ask the party you know to hold off until this is made public. I will have it up by Saturday morning. Because of the length of the recording it is not easy to upload, however the citizens of Pulaski need to be made aware as it effects every citizen or could effect every citizen of Pulaski. This can happen to any one of you and maybe it has happened to some of you.
I know I will be attacked from the shadows when this is made public, it has happened before, but I do not care when those that do the attacking are simply trying to cover their own actions and deflect blame onto others.
Since I have been advised and am aware of the laws concerning defamation, libel, as well as slander you can be assured that I am presenting the truth and I will only address conversations I have personally had and what is contained in public record.
Feel free to copy this post and share it on your social media pages as well as what I publish in the next few days. I appreciate all of those who have supported me in the past. I seek only for those who wish to do business in Pulaski to feel safe in developing business and have the same Constitutional rights that our elected officials took an oath to uphold for all citizens.

As far as I know there is nothing written in law about the Director As far as I know there is nothing written in law about the Director of Schools being a resident of Giles County. In the contract of the former Director it was clearly a requirement that he be a residing resident of the county. This requirement was circumvented with the aid of the School Board and the Director was never really met the intent of the requirement and only maintained an apartment in the county. He did not pay property taxes or vote here. I believe strongly that the new Director’s contract should state emphatically that the director must be a residing resident and failure to meet this requirement violates the contract and will lead to immediate termination. Paying all required taxes and voting as an active involved member of this community should be a minimum. It is unreasonable for someone who pays no property taxes to advocate increases to those taxes or be in a position of dispensing those taxes.
As for involving TSBA are we not already paying dues to this organization? To say that the School Board does not have the resources or time to post a want ad on the internet or make phone calls to other states seems to diminish the abilities of the School Board. It is their job, they each ran with the understanding that the job would require time sacrifices and while they have made some time sacrifices for which they are compensated, by whatever means they sought when seeking election, now is a greater need for that time sacrifice. Paying ten thousand dollars to TSBA when our own people are suffering under budget cuts caused by irresponsible spending is absurd. Posting to the internet is not that complicated and a community volunteer might even be available with those skills. As for calling other School Boards, State Education Departments and contacting publications directed toward those in education, my goodness not even AT&T charges that much for a phone number and most of those numbers are available on the internet.
I also want the best qualified person but I also want someone with a proven record of openness, integrity where their word means something positive and they say the same thing regardless of with whom they are speaking. Having TSBA involved does not assure that, were they not involved with the selection of Mr. Little and Mr. Jackson and were they not involved with Mr. Jackson being named Superintendent of the year a couple of years ago?
Why can’t the School Board receive applications, research those applications, interview the applicants, have community meetings and then make a decision about who to hire? Isn’t that what other other departments do to some degree or other?
I fully agree with the poster in that if the school board is doing a bad job we have a responsibility to talk with them, and they with us, and come to an understanding of why they are doing what they are doing. In deed each member is only one of seven but their voice and vote is important even when they may be in the minority. It is their responsibility to themselves and those they represent to be fully informed and to speak up for what is right even if they are out voted.

I don't understand why the school board don't do they job and save the 10,000 for other things. Only thing they needs is just let the other school districts around the country know we looking for a director and the applications will come in.
The TSBA will narrow the applications to a few. The only problem is that there may not be any local in the final group. Those finalists may know nothing at all about this county or its children.
That why the TSBA don't need nothing to do with this.
The school board members should be ashamed. Why did they run if they can't do the job?
I hope our school system can teach our children how to speak and write better than 6:40. That is terrible.

Mr. Barrett, how can we as Americans require that someone purchase property? We should not require that a school director purchase property, that is a right as a citizen of the United States to have the freedom to choose that. Would I prefer it, yes but that is not something you can require. There will be a town meeting and I am sure you will be there to voice your opinion but please don't take over.

You stated that you also would prefer they buy property and that is exactly what I said. The other part of being a residing resident is such things as registering to vote here, titling a vehicle here. Normally a person in such a position with a family seeks to own their home rather than rent, especially after they consider all the benefits.
Mr. Jackson was allowed to rent an apartment here while maintaining his residence in Alabama, this was in direct violation of his contract.
Let's hope the process doesn't become a calamity. Our children deserves a leader who cares about them. Teachers want someone who will be fair and do the right thing. We will all look forward to the beginning of the process. I just hope some of our best candidates are not frightened off by all the circus that could be generated by this process. I too would like to have seen the board do the interviews. To their defense, they don't want the appearance on anything underhanded.

The longest part of the video is part 2 which contains the complete interview by the police of Council Member Vicky Harwell during her interview by local police as she tries to defame me further, and her accusal of me physically attacking her, as well as her denial of Commissioner Harwell continuing his assault by throwing water on me during the incident at the Chili Cook Off. The camera didnt lie but someone's memory seemed to be off! The officer doing the interview did a very good job. He even asked some questions over allowing for correction and after stating he had seen the video.
We all have to go to the Polls and vote NO to VICKY and in 2014 to her husband. They have brought nothing but shame to Pulaski and Giles County.
It seems that Mrs. Harwell would have been better served to watch the tape before she opened her lying mouth. Repeating something over and over doesn't make it the truth.This is typical of small southern towns, unfortunately, where it's who you know and not if you are right or wrong. Hang in there, Mr. Hughes. You showed much more restraint than I would have been able to.
I hope no one who has watched these clips will still be champions for the Harwells. There comes a time to cut your losses and admit that you were just wrong, plain and simple.
Bob, I think you have done a great job bringing some facts and truths to the surface about all the corrupt and underhanded dealings that have been going on way too long in Pulaski. I hope your video gets into the hands of people who can expose these issues on a statewide or national level. Keep up the good work because you have more supporters than youll ever know!!!!
I have called people most of the day and told them about the video. They all plan to watch it when they come home from work. Pulaski needs more people like Bob Hughes to come forward and not be scared. His video can also be viewed by going to YouTube and searching pulaski tn city council. All three parts have been combined into 1 video which is much easier to watch with no interuptions. It is titled "County Commissioner attacks Citizen and city council covers it up.
Everyone needs to rally behind Mr. Hughes because what happened to him can happen to any one of us.

Chances are you are really helping Vickie's campaign. Since it is on the blog and since Bob is Bob the voters will vote for her because of this very thing. Thing is, Vickie has let by gones be by gones. She has gone on to a new chapter in her life. The chili cookoff mentioned was two years ago.
Here is the point of this. We have some very wonderful elected officials who try very hard to do what is right for all citizens of Pulaski as well as Giles County. Although I can not name one on the city council some in the Commission will put their own personal views aside when it comes to protecting each and every citizens Constitutional rights as they promised when entering office. Unfortunately some of the very bad ones, who choose to abuse their power make it extremely difficult for the good ones and they are met with just as much animosity as I was when I attempted to open a business in Pulaski. Although my problems with the city of Pulaski started with Dan Speer when I was directed to him in his capacity as mayor. As I have told many who I felt sat on the right boards about this, before he would ever answer my questions he chose to market his insurance company and tried to get a foot hold in my business, which I openly told him I had no desire for either. My problems continued with the city council and administrations support of his actions with the writing of laws that violated my constitutional rights along with tighter regulations on businesses in the area of which I am the only business in Pulaski or Giles County operating under these rules. In my opinion this was for no other reason but to give marketing advantages to other businesses distributing the same products and services. Before any one asks about Kathy's Tavern, the city council wrote a whole new set of rules. No other business operated under the rules I was forced to. In addition at the same time they either, by law or amendment of definition, loosened the restrictions on other businesses wishing to distribute the same products. I will cover this more in another video. More information continues to come my way that needs to come out.

But continuing as this situation further escalated when I, as a citizen, whom has the right to document the arbitrary enforcement of laws, abuse of power, and endangerment to my property was the target of the malicious verbal attacks of Commissioner Harwell, which are as false as the interview Vicky Harwell gave to the police. In my opinion both Vicky and Terry should have been brought up on criminal and ethics charges. It is in the city's and counties own ethics rules each commissioner and city council member has the right and the duty to bring these members of their respective government up on ethics charges. It is their duty. Has this or will this happen? Time will tell. The information is there, I will be happy to testify before any committee but I am not wasting my time filing anything locally. Whether it happened yesterday or two years ago is of no consequence as it is a testament to the honesty and willingness of two elected officials to do what is right. It was not two years ago when I was still being attacked by cowards from the shadows on this blog who continue to spread lies and attack my character. If not for them I probably would have never requested the police reports and evidence and would have gone on not knowing how much conspiring actually took place in this case. So I thank you. The fact I was blocked from receiving justice by their family members only sends the message something really needs to be done at a higher level.
The fact is now the truth can not be covered up or just swept under a rug So maybe the voters want a liar re-elected, Dan Speer was in office for twenty years and they gave him a job in my dealings with him he is not qualified to be in. In fact I do not support any incumbent that sits on the council because they have had the resources to do what is right and chose not to but will walk up and shake my hand like we are friends. But at the same time will not allow for open discussion in work session or council meetings even though their actions has and continues to affect my income. I will no longer stand for it. If any one wants to know why I supported Allen Barret in the Commissioner race even though I do not agree with a lot of his views, it is because he openly discusses the issues and is one of the few people that has run for office I feel is competent in his research, believes in the Constitution equally for every one, and has the backbone to support it even when the view is not popular.
So vote your heart but don't whine and ask for my help when the opportunity presented itself to do something and as citizens nothing was done.

You obtain from the police Barrett's interview and the actual video tape from his camera which has never been returned and is some how missing from evidence so I may have it authenticated. Not the burned DVD they used as evidence in the case, the actual mini dv tape from his camera. I trust nothing Bottoms was involved in concerning Barrett because I am aware of the hatred some of his relatives have for him. I will only post the raw footage from his camera. Walk up to me and deliver both in my hand and I will gladly post side by side. Don't leave it in my mailbox; put it in my hand. When you produce the original footage from his video camera and the interview from the police then you can talk to me. Other than that go cower in a corner because I am done with you until we are face to face and I have both in my hand. And by the way I will be able to tell if it is the original or a transferred copy from the DVD. Until then I will not respond to any more of your posts concerning this subject.

My comment was go to TSBA.com and fill out the questionaire for the Director of Schools. Also come to the open meeting next week to see what the school board is going to do. They are spending $10,000.00 of taxpayers money to do a search. They are looking for the best, but so were the other board members when we got Little and Jackson.
Another good thing to read and start something with is about our local bed and breakfast and how irate some people got over there stay there. It is under tourism in Tn. Good read.
Hughes, I knew you wouldn't take the time to pick up the police interview of Barrett, in the same manner and format as you picked up the Harwell one. A real shame that you follow the same double standard of enabling wrongdoing that you now profess to oppose. How sad.

I thank the few for trying to change the subject but let's stay on track. The reason for my posts and the release of my videos were due to direct attacks on my character by public officials and the exposure of corruption in the system.
My offer to load the original video and audio of something that does not involve me is more than fair as many do not have the capabilities or intelligence to load video and audio. However every one has the ability to go to the police department and request the materials they desire and bring them down and deliver them in my hand.
So tell all your friends and family to watch the videos I have produced pertaining to the erroneous acts by some of our elected officials and go out and vote at least some of the corruption out of office.

Or tell your friends and family that a double standard exists in this community. When a person disagrees with a police statement made by one he will post it for the world to see. However, when he praises another person as valuing the constitution and the rule of law but knows that person's police interviews showed just the opposite, he will refuse to post them.
Or you can just tell your friends and family that an unsuccessful businessman and unsuccessful politician have this incredibly humorous blog they should check out.

If elected, Adam has a very simple plan to put Pulaski back on the map. By simply lowering the sales tax rate, it will encourage citizens to spend their money inside the city rather than outside the state in some cases. The increase of sales tax revenue will, after Sam Davis Park is paid off, go towards recruitment of businesses to Pulaski by offering reduced property tax rates, much like how Spring Hill enticed GM. The increase in competition will help to lower prices across the board for merchandise you buy on a daily basis, putting more money in your pocket.
But most importantly, if elected, Adam promises not to become an embarrassment to the city of Pulaski. If confronted by a concerned citizen, he will not shove them down; instead, he’ll listen to them. Adam will listen to you, as well. On Election Day, please think back on the last four years. Do we want all the same people elected again?

I don't think the poster was interested in taking the time to post a tape. I think he/she was was just calling hughes' hand on holding up Barrett as a rule of law kind of guy and offered a simple way to prove it. That "way" being the same type of posting hughes did on Harwell.
I don't know whether they have a dog in the fight or not. I do know that I sure don't. But I can't help but agree that his/her crticisms of hughes asserting but refusing to prove are quite telling. It does seem rather hypocritical for hughes to refuse the same scrutiny on his buddy. But hey, that's just politics isn't it.

By simply lowering the sales tax rate, it will encourage citizens to spend their money inside the city rather than outside the state in some cases. The increase of sales tax revenue will, after Sam Davis Park is paid off, go towards recruitment of businesses to Pulaski by offering reduced property tax rates, much like how Spring Hill enticed GM. The increase in competition will help to lower prices across the board for merchandise you buy on a daily basis, putting more money in your pocket.
But most importantly, if elected, Adam promises not to become an embarrassment to the city of Pulaski. If confronted by a concerned citizen, he will not shove them down; instead, he’ll listen to them. Adam will listen to you, as well. On Election Day, please think back on the last four years. There are many things facing us today that makes it hard to live, makes it hard to pay the bills, makes it hard to put food on the table for our families, it makes it hard to just live a life in which we can enjoy. The question you need to ask yourself is this who is helping me make a good life in which I want to live, who is making it to where I can pay my bills each month or who is the person that's going to be my voice when others would not help me.
