New Commissioner Appointed And Sworn In
Congratulations to Mrs. Melissa Greene who was appointed to fill the vacant commission seat in the 5th District. Most will remember that the seat became vacant after long time Commissioner Bill Holt moved out of the district.
Today's vote resulted in ten commissioner votes for Mrs Greene and ten for Mr Doggett the other highly qualified candidate. The tie was broken by Mrs Vanzant who cast the deciding vote in favor of Mrs. Greene.
Mrs. Greene, after being sworn in, was placed on four committees by her 5th district colleagues. She replaced Commissioner Pollard on the Highway Committee, and Commissioner Howell on the Environmental, Insurance and Public Service Committees.

Did vanzant and campbell not like Pollard and Howell?
I think Pollard and Howell took some of the straw out of her broom and she couldn't fly right for a few days.
I have heard some stuff come out of Pollard and Harwells mouths that a 3rd grader would laugh at. It is hard to take either of them seriously when they try and make a decision.
I don't think many 3rd graders laughed at the stuff that came out of Harwell's mouth at the chili cookout.
That horse is tired of being beaten 5:32. Take your personal issues and go home. Do you plan to keep talking about his 10 years from now in hopes it is relevant? Bob Hughes and the Harwells are all morons. The county could do better without either.
There is a huge difference in Harwell and Howell. I believe that 5:24 may have gotten confused and referred to Commissioner Harwell instead of Commissioner Howell.
What happen to supporting the commissoners who are left in the district to make the nomination and the other Commissioners follow suit. Greene's will have to much power along with Richland LLC
There isn't that much difference in Harwell and Howell. Harwell is pitiful and Howell is in Barrett's pocket, which makes her pitiful.

I wish Connie would drag the person to court that keeps posting these things about her. Sounds like a lot of jealousy.

Sounds like business as usual. It's a shame that the commissioners couldn't follow the "courtesy" rule and go along with Howell and Pollard's recommendation. I guess Van Zandt and gang wanted to replace "Mr. Conflict of Interest Holt" with another who is fraught with their own conflicts of interest. Thanks Janet. I expected no less from you.

Was Ms Greene the first choice of the district 5 voters or was she voted into that district by commissioners who have no idea what those voters want?
She was chosen by Vanzant and commissioners from the 1st, 6th and 7 districts who voted solid for Green except for Faulkner.
She was voted in because she has a brain. That is a major change from what the 5th district voters are used to having.
