Head Custodian To Retire
The news that Roger Strickland will retire in February has caused at least one commissioner to start salivating at the idea of moving out of the Financial Management Office and into Mr. Strickland's "office".
Apparently the job qualifications are being upgraded for any replacement.
I have been bombarded with questions of ,"how can Mr. Strickland retire when he is only 64 unless he is another county employee benefiting from the very generous disability system". I don't know the answer, I don't know how old he is or what his health is. I do know that he apparently feels healthy and able enough to make physical threats against people who question his personal use of county property.

Does this mean the courthouse can't get anymore mail? I read the requirements for the job in the paper and it didn't say anything about being a suck up to vanzant, delivering the mail and sitting in the county truck at Wal mart and other parking lots during work hours.

Does that mean that someone who is a custodian makes more than a person who is handling county finances? What is wrong with this picture?

Being a County custodian certifies you to work in the Finance Department (demonstrated by past County Executive actions). However, working in the Finance Department does not necessarily certifiy one to be a custodian. I am sure that Mr. Harwell will not apply for the custodial position in that said position will require an amount of physical effort.
Terry rides a scooter around the courthouse but walks to his smoking corner hows that for dedication. Guess he's working on his next income disability from the county.
I'm not a fan of Terry Harwell, but I would like to see him beat the shit out of 9:18.

Hey, I just had an idea. Why don't you guys get a petition going demanding that Barrett be awarded the janitor position at the courthouse? That would give him plenty to do.

I've known Allen for a number of years and there is no finer man than he is. Is Terry Harwell really interested in the position of Head Custodian? That would be great for the 7th District people cause maybe it would cause him to come off as a Commissioner who cannot vote on money matters! He needs to resign as Commissioner just for that reason alone. But then again, I heard that he has now started voting again on matters that it's illegal for him to vote on. If that is true, why hasn't some of the Commissioners or Mrs. Vanzant called his hand on that? And another thing, why is Tommy Beech voting on issues pertaining to his wife's property at Exit 14? Isn't that a DIRECT conflict of interest? Commissioners pay attention to this and get it stopped! It's simply not right.
when has a conflict of interest gotten in the way of commissioners voting, Beech doesn't have anymore or less a conflict than every commissioner that works directly for the school system or has a spouse working for the schools. Harwell has violated state law every time he has voted on a finance issue but no one seems to care or have the balls to stand up and challenge Vanzant.

It's a rotten shame that the hatred this blog continues to promote has again reared its ugly head. Mrs. Vanzant's car was vandalized a SECOND time right after she got it out of the body shop. This is undeniable. The hatred spills over into action, and those spewing it are AT LEAST indirectly responsible for such cowardly and evil acts.

Roger Strickland retired, and I'm fairly certain that you know that and was just trying to stir up trouble. If you "heard" anything at the courthouse, I'm sure you were told that Roger was given a big retirement party by Mrs. Vanzant. Why would she do that if she had fired him.
Stop being a part of the hatred and jealousy that is rampant on this blog. You don't have to be like the hater-in-chief here.

I know, 10:15, right? I was gonna leave her car alone this time until I started reading this blog. Despite every inclination to the contrary, after reading a few posts about Janet, it was like I was brainwashed. I couldn't help myself. Y'all made me do it and that's what I'm gonna tell the judge.
Will there be a lawsuit in the future if Mr. Barrett isn't hired as the custodian? Just asking.
