Ever Wonder Why A Politician Would Sell HIs Integrity?

Take a look at these pictures then ask yourself is it possible that the reason Rep. Barry Doss pushed so hard, lied and broke House procedures and rules in getting the huge gasoline, diesel and vehicle registration cost increased on the people of Tennessee because he and his family stood to profit from his nefarious dealings?
This past week construction began on US 31 in Ardmore, can you guess who is doing work on this project?  OK, the question may be too hard so I'll not count your first two guesses.  Here's a hint, it's on the sign and It doesn't start with CAT.

Whoa there cowboy! You forgot a couple of important things. 1. People put him in office knowing he's a crook and, 2. He was awarded the contract by people.

What I've said to many people openly is that people like Doss or Trump don't scare me as much as knowing that thousands, or in the case of Trump, millions of people voted for them knowing what kind of people they are. Be afraid of all the people who voted for these unethical slobs more than the politician. They are the real threat.

Now THAT should scare you.

The thing that scared me was the possibility that Hillary Clinton, who makes Al Capone seem like an Eagle Scout, almost got elected.

3:29. Yeah, right. Let me ask you something. How's "grab them by the pussy" working out for you? People who voted for him said clearly that it's okay to have a person like that in the Oval Office. You should be ashamed.

And now I see that the Alabama people have voted for an unhinged lunatic. Just wonderful.

So how does "what does it matter" when referring to the Bengazhi slaughter and cover-up working for you. I would rather have someone who uses locker room talk in private than someone who uses government agencies to destroy political opponents and those who reveal criminal activity. I would rather have a president who speaks plainly instead of one who habitually lies and cowers under the political correct umbrella. I would rather have a president who firmly states Make America Great than one who whimpers apologies for our greatness. I would rather have a flawed president who seeks the best for the country than a criminal who seeks only to enrich and empower herself. On this I stand firmly with the 25 Sept at 3:29 PM poster.

The topic of this thread is about Rep. Barry Doss who pushed the Governor's massive fuel tax increase through his committee in violation of several rules and legislative procedures thus enabling its passage into law. Now Rep. Doss and his family are directly benefiting from those tax increases and getting contracts to do highway jobs. What greater conflict of interest are you aware of?? The opportunity to discuss the racial aspects of life are available on another thread, please use it and confine comments on this thread to the subject, thank you.

Oh, I know. Dotard J. Trump.

People knew he was a crook and voted for him anyway.

What does that tell you about THOSE people's character?

Barrett, in your 7:01 post if you're going to quote you might want to do it right you moron. It's "what difference does it make?" AND you have to look at the context. Of course, I wouldn't expect a hillbilly like you to get it right. Try to be accurate and you might want to get a little more education.

"Trump allows mass murder" Are you really that damn stupid 8:53? WAB said you were ignorant that was very mild compared to the complete stupidity of your last statement. The guy was a madman that planned this for months in advance. Everything he did that night was illegal so what do you suggest would have stopped him? The weapons were illegally altered, they were taken into the hotel illegally and they were certainly used illegally so what new law would you make that would have stopped him?

To the 4 Oct. 6:05pm poster.

Do you know how many people were killed with guns last year compared to how many babies had their skulls crushed and bodies sucked out of their mother's piece by piece?

According to the last official statistics from the CDC
All firearm deaths totaled 33,736 and of that 21,386 were suicides. That leaves 12,350 and if you take out New Orleans, Detroit, St. Louis and Baltimore (Chicago isn't ebven in the top ten for per capita murders) the number is reduced by another five thousand.
More people die from poising each year, 51,966, than from firearms.

96% of the 664,465 abortions last year in this country were for the convenience of the "mother". In other words, 664,465 babies were murdered last year because of the power lobby of democrats so who are the real mass murderers.

Don't bother me with inane blatter about gun violance when your buddies are murdering people at a rate over
fifty times higher using a vacuum and forceps.

Abortions as a result of rape are less than 1% of the totals. If it's a womans body and she can do what she wants to with it why are there laws against her renting it out to men; injecting certain things into it, etc, etc?

Yes, that 1 % seems like a little. Let's put that into numbers. 1 % of all rapes end in pregnancy. That equals, on average, around 32,000 a year.

I do have to hand it to you, though by trying to slip that one pass people. Unfortunately for you, not all readers are hillbillies and actually have an education and can look things up.

I stand with women! Her body, her choice. Now go away, little boy and play with Barrett in his fantasy world.

To the 5 Oct 2:45 poster. Actually, you and your numbers are way wrong or perhaps your eagerness to disagree simply left you confused about what the one percent represented. What I stated from the CDC was that only 1% of the total number of abortions was the result of a rape.

According to the Holmes MM, Resnick HS, Kilpatrick DG, and Best CL. 1996. Rape-related pregnancy: Estimates and descriptive characteristics from a national sample of women. American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 175(2):320-325, the number of rapes that resulted in pregnancy is about 5% . This study was repeated in 2001 with the same number results.
This was based on the pregnancy rate among rape survivors from 12 to 45 years of age which means that less than 600 rape survivors became pregnant as a result of the rape. Seems like a very small number but for those who experienced the horrible tragedy the number is not only high but reflects the brutality of how some women are treated.
The other out of place question on this thread is far less complicated than the question of rape and it's ugliness. Why should men have a say in whether a woman has an abortion? Well, why not?
Abortions do not impact only the woman involved they have an incredible impact on the baby that is being killed. If you follow the logic of having only women decide the issue of abortion then we would have to have only men decide the issue of rape. Would it be reasonable to only have pet owners decide what is cruelty to animals? Laws are not suppose to be made based only on gender but how they impact all of society. My desire is to have a rapist castrated then imprisoned. Rape is a separate issue. Killing a baby for the convenience of the mother is as much murder as what took place in LasVegas this week. NOw can we please get back to the topic of this thread "the corruption of Rep. Barry Doss?

Barrett you really are as pathetic as people say.

To everyone, here is the part POS Barrett left out. Typical republican.

Rape-related pregnancy: estimates and descriptive characteristics from a national sample of women.

Holmes MM1, Resnick HS, Kilpatrick DG, Best CL.
Author information
Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
We attempted to determine the national rape-related pregnancy rate and provide descriptive characteristics of pregnancies that result from rape.
STUDY DESIGN:
A national probability sample of 4008 adult American women took part in a 3-year longitudinal survey that assessed the prevalence and incidence of rape and related physical and mental health outcomes.
RESULTS:
The national rape-related pregnancy rate is 5.0% per rape among victims of reproductive age (aged 12 to 45); among adult women an estimated 32,101 pregnancies result from rape each year. Among 34 cases of rape-related pregnancy, the majority occurred among adolescents and resulted from assault by a known, often related perpetrator. Only 11.7% of these victims received immediate medical attention after the assault, and 47.1% received no medical attention related to the rape. A total 32.4% of these victims did not discover they were pregnant until they had already entered the second trimester; 32.2% opted to keep the infant whereas 50% underwent abortion and 5.9% placed the infant for adoption; an additional 11.8% had spontaneous abortion.
CONCLUSIONS:
Rape-related pregnancy occurs with significant frequency. It is a cause of many unwanted pregnancies and is closely linked with family and domestic violence. As we address the epidemic of unintended pregnancies in the United States, greater attention and effort should be aimed at preventing and identifying unwanted pregnancies that result from sexual victimization.

To the 5 Oct. 4:01pm poster. Please try and find someone who will read the articles and explain what the words mean for you. If you would have been able to understand the words you would have known that the 32,101 number was worldwide, while the number I gave was was for this country only. The study is a very reputable one that reveals a terrible statistic about the horribleness or rape. You don't do the problem justice with misleading bean soup, accuracy of numbers is bad enough and reveals the need for greater attention but not more abortions.

Many women regret their decisions to abort their babies. It's very sad. And the abortion industry profits from their pain and babies' pain and the babies' subsequent deaths. Are we any better that the societies that killed their babies as sacrifices to the gods?
But, back to the Doss thing, speaking as a REPUBLICAN, Doss should be primaried, if he is not arrested first. I don't trust him. He is loud, obnoxious. He show incredible lack of judgment. One such example is appointing David Rackley to the election commission. He thinks he is untouchable. I think he is very vulnerable, though his ego would not allow him to see that.
One difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans will point out the faults of their own. Democrats pretend nothing is ever wrong with any other Democrat. A democrat can do no wrong in their eyes. Case in point Harvey Swinestein, big democrat donor to the likes of Hillary and others.

Let's remember that people like Rackley and Doss were only able to get where they are both professionally and personality wise because people enabled them. Don't enable them, they fizzle. Same for Weinstein.

I had an encounter with Rackley years ago. I'm not from here, retired and have enough money that I don't have to bow to anyone. Not getting into specifics, Rackley "tried" to bully me once. I was dismissive of him and he nearly had a heart attack. You know " do you know who I am?" And all that other shit. Anyway, when I just laughed at him I thought I would have to call 911.

That's all you have to do. Don't be bullied. Don't enable.
