Giles Free Speech Zone

The purpose of the "Giles Free Speech Zone" is to identify problems of concern to the people of Giles County, to discuss them in a gentlemanly and civil manner, while referring to the facts and giving evidence to back up whatever claims are made, making logical arguments that avoid any use of fallacy, and, hopefully, to come together in agreement, and find a positive solution to the problem at hand. TDOT Records Show ‘Boss’ Doss Company Received Road Construction Subcontract Estimated to Be More Than $400,000

Never underestimate the power of positive thinking and the ability of a crooked politician to enrich himself.

From the Tennessee Star today's issue.

TDOT Records Show ‘Boss’ Doss Company Received Road Construction Subcontract Estimated to Be More Than $400,000

When The Tennessee Star asked State Rep. Barry “Boss” Doss (R-Leoma) why his company’s Doss Brothers, Inc. construction equipment was seen at a $2.2 million road construction project in Ardmore, the chairman of the House Transportation Committee who pushed Gov. Haslam’s gas tax increase through the Tennessee House of Representatives said “The turn lane being constructed in Ardmore on SR 7 was announced 2 years ago and was set to bid before the improve act was introduced!  Doss brothers inc. did not bid on the project!”
Doss did not deny, however, that the construction company he owns, Doss Brothers, Inc., is working on the project.
The Star can now confirm, based on documents obtained from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) in a public records request, that Doss Brothers, Inc. is listed by the Rogers Group, the contractor who was awarded the $2.2 million project on March 31, 2017, as a subcontractor performing “earthwork” and “concrete flatwork” work on the project.

Political Crooks are removed by voting them out. Don't complain if you don't vote. Now that gerrymandering has taken over Giles and Lawrence Counties, this crooked politician will be voted in repeatedly.

Sometimes you get fooled when a democrat lies and pretends to be a Republican.

I tried to learn more about this, but there were no links to the Tennessee star. Is it a newspaper? A radio station? I found no trace of it in wikipedia either, unless it is the Tennessee Star Journal in Pigeon Forge, TN. That was listed in wiki's "list if tennessee newspapers. That's all I could find, so couldn't get any more info than this blog.

Maybe I missed it completely, but if not, sure would be nice to post links referencing articles partially used or reproduced in the blog.

Thanks

To "Old Man", I can't understand why you are having trouble accessing the "Tennessee Star", I simply typed Tennessee Star in my Google search engine and the first item on page one is a link to the "Tennessee Star". Here is the website link, tennesseestar.com. Thanks for the question.

Thanks. I didn't use google, guess that was my problem. I figured wiki would give some info on what kind of newspaper it is, as well as links.

I found the star, and looked at the news section, but I guess it is too old to be there anymore, unless it's about 30 pages back :)

Just a thought; if possible a direct hyperlink is always a good thing ... makes it easy for us internet dummies.
