Flash, Flash, Flash... Sands Restaurant Closing

One of the oldest restaurants in Giles County is scheduled to close soon. The Sands Restaurant at Frankewing will be closing after many years of serving great steaks and other fine food. What is the reason for the closing? The new owners of the motel are offended by the fact that beef and other meat is served there. Allen Barrett

that was the nastiest place on earth.

the owner would come in EVERY morning and dip a FINGER in the grits to eat them. not once...many times during the morning.

What difference should it make to WAB if the owners were offended. It is their restaurant! If they want to close it, then let them close it.
This is another fine example of WAB trying to push his views on someone else.

Question:
Why is it any of WAB's business or mine why the owners decided to close their OWN restaurant?
I think a news story on why some churches get rid of and hire new preachers would be a more interesting read.

Perhaps the new owner is Hindu or Muslin which would explain the no meat thing. I'd love to see a decent vegeterian resturant here. Maybe we could pursuade the new owner along those lines.
What a golden opportunity for a fast food at Exit 14. But, as usual the commissioners haven't planned ahead and we don't have the infrastructure in place.
(WAB, did you know Willa's gift shop on W College is closing?) Flash, Flash, Flash.

The owners are East Indian and are of the Hindu faith. That's why they are offended by serving meat. As a Christian wouldn't you be offended to serve alcohol in your restaurant? This is no "Flash, Flash, Flash" news. I had also heard about their closing about a year or so ago. I would like to also add that they are very nice people. I had the pleasure of meeting the Mrs. and she is a very nice lady.

I agree with you (6:24:00AM) concerning the fact that so many businesses are closing in Giles County. And that's not good for our economy. But the closing of Morris Harwell and Sands are for very different reasons. But why go that extra step and make a statement that the owners of Sands were offended by serving beef? Especally without a clarification that the owners were Hindu. A religious choice not an economics choice.

I think there is something very wrong with this country when religions of other countries are being defended and yet the founding religion of this country takes a back seat to everyone of them. No one cares if Christians are offended just as long as no other religion is, everything is okay. Sad isn't it-I guess that is what you call freedom of religion in the United States today.

I doubt you'll see anything about it, but here is a copy of the want ad that was placed shortly after:
PREACHER WANTED!!!!!!!
Preacher needed for lovely small town church. Qualified applicants must be willing to spend countless hours at area hospitals visiting friends of relatives that were members but have'nt attended in years. Applicants are required to preach twice sunday and once on wednesdays. During that time he must be the last person to leave so each member can share with him how terrible their life is and borrow money from him. During the generous off time said person must sit by the phone incase someone was offended by himself or another member. Said person must show up in court for all members family hearings. Job offers wonderful benefits such as pot luck dinners with plastic knives, (hurts less with plastic when we stab you in the back). Church offers no medical, no housing allowance, no car allowance, no gas allowance and most definately no moral support. Great pay $200.00 a week when available with no retirement. Thank you for applying.

All I see is WAB asking a question, and then answering it, apparently with accuracy. I don't see any "attitude," much less an attempt to "push his views," as was earlier claimed. But, if I'm wrong, just show me where the "problem" is.

You are too stupid to know that you are belittling someone for something that you didn't even know you did.

Will the reporter with camera now be going to Minor Hill to "expose" what caused the little factory there to close? Surely there's something sinister going on. Could it be that those who are running things here in Giles County are responsible for the plant's demise? Look for a feature story on the giles rebel. So laughable.

Stupid Guy,

You can't stand it when even you realize how stupid you are. That post of yours is filthy, and I think Kendrick should remove it. Then you should seek help.

41700 Imagine you conveying wisdom to children. The workers wouldn't be able to find their way to work, without a nanny leading them.

Fortunately, no matter how much you spend to corrupt their minds, most will be much better than you can imagine.

I know, you want to be derblunderfurrer, reporting to Herr Jackson. - need to check with your buds to see how to get elected or appointed if you can't.

Are you really offended or are you just mad because it took you two days to get it?
Besides, how do you know how I feel.

Pid is not a word. That's what makes it so funny. You could have just said " U R st ill stu pid!"
That's dumb.
