If you are among the twenty or so people who watched these videos before 4:00 AM Thursday morning, you might want to watch them again. When I first made these clips, I used the "default" settings, and the results were pretty much horrible. So, I burned the midnight oil, tweaked the settings on my compression program, and uploaded vastly better originals... which YouTube unfortunately compressed a great deal more. But honestly, the new versions do look better. Just take a look and see...

It is a hard pill to swallow that we have county employees working in conditions like that and our director of schools Tee Jackson is pushing for a new office for himself. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do those board members continue to bury their heads in the sand and let this man get away with what ever he wants? Shame on them also, you that don't have one you need to get one, that is a BACKBONE, and think for yourselves. God gave you a brain to use well use it, you know that what is going on is not right.

Citizens of Giles county we all need to be contacting our board members, and our commissioners. Call them all, not just the ones in your district-they all work for all of us. The only way things will change is if we let them know what they are doing is not what we want. That is unless you like paying more taxes.

You know if you spend a little more money for something than usual then it usualy saves you money in the long run,i mean if you spend a little more right then and not buying cheeper to save money. What im trying to say is this,go ahead and build a much needed bus garage today, think of what you would save in material, you all know how a $25 piece of lumber today will be $75 by two or three months, think about how much it would save tax payers if was just done today. But if there are still some of you who dont feel that way, let it be , and when that building falls on and kills someone,or that wrecker kills an employe,a citizen,or both, think about what that will cost the tax payers.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!signd,A LITTLE EYE OPENER>>>

This is a sad statement on the condition of the government in Giles County. These people work hard each day to ensure the safety of the children of Giles County and this is the thanks they receive from the School Board. I will be contacting my county commissioner and school board member, not that it will do any good.

The group you admire spent bus money on bleachers so children could ride in worn out buses while miss goody two shoes & big foot watches from new grandstands! OOps - you were one of those who made it happen, right?

To: anonymous post 2-11-07@9:41:02A.M.

There was never any money spent on bleachers instead of buses. I am just wanting to get the facts straight. There was money that was appropriated for new gym bleachers at both Minor Hill & Elkton schools. Instead of this money being spent for what it was approved for by both the school board & the county commission, it was spent on the "new field house" at G.C.H.S.. Then our director of schools, Mr. Jackson came back with another budget amendment wanting more money to buy the same bleachers he never bought the 1st time that money was approved to purchase these two schools bleachers. Just trying to get the facts straight. Hope you understand.

What you say is true, except the rest of the story. = During all of that, there was no money available for badly needed busses. Bus money had been agreed before all that, but "disappeared". During the chatter about bleachers, field house, & other mundane stuff, "unsafe busses" were hauling children up and down the road. Point, spending money on frills instead of critical needs, so you can run out of $, cliam disaster, and get the frills you wouldn't ordinarily be entitled to. It's a bit of nasty fraud that placed the lives of children in the mix. Ah, but it was money for the cause!

If we did not have a shiny new field house how would be get new coaches? We have to have some kind of lure. After all, football is so important to the education of the majority of our children. Especially since one of the ex-board members has a child on the football team. The new football coaches wife is so ignorant that she has bragged to everyone what Jackson has promised to them that is totally illegal! I'm sorry, I apologize for calling the coach's wife ignorant, you are right. What I should have said was that the coaches wife bragged about the director making a job for her, and allowing her husband the day off for sex. I guess the coach and his wife are actually pretty smart to get away with it. Jackson is the one that should have made sure she did not brag.

Not quite... you must've missed this little gem:

Kendrick,
In my opinion, you are such a low down, dirty rotten, no count misleading scumbug. I wish you and WAB would just go away. I don't know who you think you are helping, but it is not working! He gets the cowboy stew beat out of him in an election where four run and three get elected, and you have accomplished nothing.

This thread was started to discuss the school bus garage not where or when the football coach has sex and whoever wrote that post should be ashamed that was and is a vulgar and tastless post and sounds to me like someone is jealous.

Now back to the subject at hand-it seems to me Tee Jackson is going to get his new office and those employees who work in that delapitated building will have to continue to work there with the chance that it may fall in on them, that is just untill the new central office is built and Tee Jackson turns around to the commissioners and says look we are in dire need of a new bus garage and to get the money for that we the taxpayers get to pay more taxes. From all of this we can tell where Tee Jacksons priorities are. Here we have employees working in a hazardous environment and Tee Jackson is more concerned with getting a new office rather than getting these employees a safe place to work.
How can people defend someone who does something like this? The Grand Jury has condemed this building so how can they continue to work there? I was under the understanding that when something is condemed you have to get out. So why are these employees still working in there and why is a central office being built before these employees get a safe place to work.
What in the world are those school board members thinking who voted for the contract extension? How can they allow the employees to work uner those conditions-they are also aware of the condition of the building.
What in the world are people thinking where are our priorities?

My hope is that one day we can get back to that peaceful and tranquil environment we had. I'm sure that remark will bring on the criticism. So guys, take your best shots!

You need to put the blame where it belongs on those who think because they have been put in positions of power that are able to to what they please. They ignore the people who have put them there-the voters, waste money, and overlook obvious needs in our county to benefit what they want. For example the building that houses the bus garage is basically condemned-go look for yourself it has cracks everywhere- but instead of doing the right thing and getting those employees a safe place to work Tee Jackson has chose to build a new central office. I am not saying a new central office is not needed but I am saying what is needed the most should be done first-I believe it wasn't to long ago that the central office had quite a bit of money spent on it. Why has the board and Tee Jackson not even addressed the issue with the garage until they were threatened by the insurance company? Taxpayers who are concerned about how the tax money they pay in every year is spent are not troublemakers no more than parents who give their children money and than ask how they spent it are! A troublemaker is someone who intentionally cause unnecessary problems-in this case people are being over run and we are tired of it. It is deplorable when you think you have put honest people in a position to better our county to find out they are only in it to get something for themselves-and that is exactly the case for most of our school board members.

I'll say this much if it were someone that you cared about who worked in the system and was being treated they way the school system employees have been treated you would not be so quick to jump on the Tee Jackson bandwagon. You would be right along side of the troublemakers as you call them.

You don't know me and you should not presume to be able to read my mind and if you did you would know that I am not envious or jealous of anyone! For those who make it big, have money or even get put in a position with higher authority I am very proud for them and hope they do right by who got them there and use their position to help others. That's not the case here in Giles County, the voters are being overlooked, employees are having to work in dangerous conditions and as a taxpayer that upsets me. I can say though at least the board member I voted for is willing to stand up against what is not right, and was very outspoken about it. I am very concerned for employees who work in an unsafe workplace, as I said before if it affected you personally you would not be telling others to just get over it, you would be joining in trying to figure out what in the heck is going on in this town, and how they can allow people to work under those conditions here-you know you might expect to find work conditions like that in third world countries but not here in these United States. There with that said do you understand now? There are people working under dangerous conditions so that the children of Giles County can get to school everyday! Do you have children? Do they ride the bus? if so you should be concerned over this also.

Sometimes I find it very hard to control what I want to say when people make comments and have no idea of what the issues truly are. You take your know it all attitude down there to that garage and than you come back and tell someone they are complaining because they are jealous or that they have a legitimate complaint. I guarantee it will be the later-you wouldn't work there!

What are we suppose to just sit back, shut our mouths and watch as we see taxpayer dollars being wasted? Do you realize the more we give the more they will take. You can go sit on your porch in a rocker with your thumb in your mouth being is you don't seem to mind your money being wasted, but as long as I have freedom I'll say and do what I want. As far as troublemakers-you can only be a troublemaker when you cause trouble when there is no reason for it-in this case there is more than plenty of reason for people to be upset. Do you realize as small and rural a county as we are we have one of the highest tax rates in the state-does that make sense-and it's going to go up again! You don't seem so bold to me. But you don't affect real and lasting change by bad-mouthing everyone you disagree with or acting like a child who gets mad and takes his marbles and goes home! Right?

They helped put Vanzant back in office, without regard for the best interest of the taxpayers. Vanzant took credit for the van that was purchased by the county and all commissioners were aware who was responsible for them getting that van, but was credit given to him? No, Vanzant lied to them and they fell for it hook, line and sinker. She got a full a color picture making her “look” good. What a con artist!

Let's see how we could nicen things up a bit. The eloquent statesman in the zoot suit & mirror polished shoes is having a horrible problem trying convince everyone that he needs a new $500,00 office to impress new business people in similar attire - to come here and hire the local ingrates for $6 an hour. It's all important that the zoot suitors see eyeball to eyeball and agree on the important stuff. If scusuitor can show his ability to tax more out of the ingrates, the bussuitor has a chance to get some of it too. The scusuitor has to be able convince the ingrates that he needs things worse than they do and a dollar really isn't a dollar. It's a tough job. He'll give the ingrates an official test every now and then to see if they're catching on. If so, he just needs to rough them up a bit. He has to teach the ingrates to follow, to respect power, to quit calling him a crook, a liar, & conniver just because he is. They've got to learn to turn the other cheek, forgive before wronged, always smile when he takes stuff, and whatever else, don't mess with the power button. Forgot, if it wasn't for Barrett & Winkles, everything would be peachy.

Excuse me those were your exact words "I will be bold enough" not mine-you wrote it not me.
That's exactly what I was pointing out, people state what they think all the time on here without saying they are bold. The only bold people on this blog are the ones who state their names and their feelings. It's easy to say what you want or how you feel when no one knows who you are and as I stated before that can not be considered bold.
The definition of bold being: daring; fearless/ too free in manner; impudent/ steep/ prominent and clear.
How can you say boldness and anonymity are not opposing concepts? Saying something anonymous can not be considered being bold according to the definition of the word.

It would probably be best if you didn't try and read into others thoughts-where you accused someone of hating veterans groups-how did you pull that one out of the hat?

Think before you speak would be a good idea! I try not to bad mouth others as you call it, but I do try and call things like I see them. You struck first, all I was trying to do was explain the reason I feel so strongly about Tee Jackson and the school board wasting taxpayer money and I and my family are struggling to pay our bills and put food on the table.

Our military personnel paid a high price so that everyone would have the right to equal and fair treatment, but those who get put in positions that have a little authority over others use that right to get what is best for themselves and the heck with everyone else. I have the utmost respect for any military personnel, but just because you served doesn't make you automatically right.

How in the world can you relate the DAV & VFW to the Jackson / board heads (2 exceptions noted) scandals? People in those organizations put their lives on the line to snuff out tyrants & oppression!

Tell us how wonderful it is to be in cahoots with someone who is about to spend another $500,000 - $600,000 for a posh nest that raises above the rest of the peons ... while real needs go without (garage?).

What are you going to do when you don't get a tax increase & have to cut back? There'll be a lot of fat in the frying pan & it's going to be good & hot!

IM..
Are you still attacking me for saying I was bold enough to state my opinions? How childish of you. Haven't we talked that one to death? I explained what I meant, and you apparently still have some misunderstandings about it.
I never said or accused anyone of hating veterans. Please go back and slowly read my post. Get assistance if you must.
I think your true feelings came throud loud and clear when you mentioned those in "positions of authority". Some do and some don't. Just because I'm not in such a position doesn't warrant my attacking those who are. I am not the least bit envious or jealous over that. Are you?
As for veterans, let me just say that I am among those who paid a price, and I'm very proud of that. I hate the utmost respect for ALL veterans. My serving doesn't make me right or wrong. However, as an American citizen, I have just as much right to voice my opinions as you or anyone else does. So you go right ahead with voicing your opinions as I certainly plan to do. If mine don't match up with yours, that's too bad, isn't it?

Pardon the typo. I was trying to say that I HAVE (not hate) the utmost respect for ALL veterans. Just thought I would clear that up before you wrongfully pounce again!

If you did not want me to respond to you, you should not have addressed me. You asked me questions that I answered. Do you understand the concept of asking a question and getting and answer? I did not wrongfully pounce as you call it. I was just pointing out to you that those were your words but you told me they were mine-you wrote them first-I just copied them from what you posted. I am also a necessary part of this blog for I can debate without name calling.
You asked someone if they hated veterans groups because of a comment they made-you more or less implied that they did because you asked twice.
Jealous no, concerned yes, as I said before our school board is looking out for themselves-the majority of them anyway. I do not attack people, as I said before I just call it like I see it. I have not attacked you, haven't called you a name just expressed my opinion as you did, but you attacked me you are the one who was talking about debate but yet someone tries to do so and you want to get personal. Don't worry I will not respond to you again. You clearly are not interested in debating.
Thanks for your service to our country.
