WAB: The Outlaw Stoney Jackson
Why does Commissioner Stoney Jackson think he does not have to act within the law? On a number of occasions Commissioner Jackson has broken the state open meetings law and blatantly challenged others to do something about it. Knowing there are no real penalties for such violations he simply snubs his nose and continues on. Even when he has violated state law he has made such comments as "What are they gonna do, put us in jail?" Tonight Commissioner Jackson advised the County Education Committee to commit to spending over a hundred thousand dollars on Sam Davis Park without so much as a bid. His comment that by contacting more than one company to find out what they would charge for stadium seats would be a sufficient substitute for bidding was almost as dumb as stating that by requesting the information on the internet it would be the same as advertising for bids. How long will the people of this county put up with such behavior? Allen Barrett

It is obvious to anyone who has attended commission committee meetings that Jackson is a racist and bigot. “You really do not want her” is an example of Jackson’s personal view point regarding females and people of African heritage. The only blatant thing he has not done is to wear his bed linen in public.

The type of person that stated the above piss me off. They always want to play that race card when they don't have anything else. "You really do not want her" is not a racist comment. Do you ever think that whomever he was referring to might be a troublemaker, regardless of race? If he had said exactly the same thing of a white man, there would be no issue with his statement, would it?
Jackson said what he said. What goes through his mind is known only to him. An elected official should not make public statements that border on the inflammatory, but Jackson is not very savvy or sensitive. He loves gossip and innuendo while making fun of others who are less fortunate. He loves to laugh at the misfortune of others. He loves to make sure that we all know how important he is. That’s just the person he is.
Topic states Stoney Jackson advised the County Education Committee to commit to spending over $100,000 to Sam Davis Park. Why? Because he wants browney points with Dan Speer and as he is a member of the county budget committee and VERRRRRRY tight with Mrs Vanzant and Ms Flacy, he is sure to get it past the budget committee, which is a given it will be OK'd by the commission.
Stoney Jackson is a much better man than WAB.

You are so typical of the little group of whiners on here. You find fault with anyone you don't like. Then you cheerfully attempt to ruin the names of the victims. Shame on all of you!
Will you ever see anything good about our county? I doubt it. But then again, you guys aren't in charge, are you?
back in the 70's when the industrial park was booming & all you had to do to get a job was walk in & apply i saw plenty good about giles county...

Whose fault is it that we don't have those days of "prosperity" now? Surely, there a few in this county who will blame Mr.Jackson, Mrs. Vanzant, certain commissioners they don't like, and etc.
Who deserves the blame?
I hear that funds have been found to finance $150,000.00 for Sam Davis Park and another $900,000.00 to buy an office building; yet the 2007-2008 budget had a deficit? Where does the Property Committee come up with this kind of money? Jackson (who I think is on the Property and Budget Committees)must have an advanced degree in finance to create funding like this.
Based on the numbers he comes up with, he appears to be on something else.
What happened to free speech?
I was in the family at one time and know for a fact that Jackson man is a bigot,racist and wife beater just like his son. Dont believe anything he says.
