Commissioner Billy Beets To Resign!
Word comes out of Campbellsville that long time Commissioner Billy Beets plans to resign from the County Commission effective 22 September 2009. Commissioner Beets has had a number of health issues and that seems to be the main issue with his resigning.
Commissioner Beets may not have always been up on the intricacies taking place on the commission but I always found him willing to listen, and honest about what he believed was right. A loss to the Commission however will be a gain for the constant Rook game down at the store. Thanks Mr. Beets for your service.

I hate to see Mr. Beets go. He has been a good Commissioner for many years. He's a honest, well respected gentleman whom I hope will soon be feeling better and live the remainder of his life happy and worry free. Good luck to you Mr. Beets. I wish there were more like you on the Commission!
Mr. Beets I hate to see you resign. You are hoenst, level-headed & respcted by most people. You always think things through & vote for the people best intrest. I thinbk we need to investigate why he is resigning. Maybe, it has something to do with corruption in the County Commission. Let's get the news hound on it.

Mr. Beets is a fine gentleman. Not in the best of health. He has made a wise decision to stay home and take care of his health. He has been a good commissioner and I wish him well.
Were it Roger Reedy or one of the others so often ridiculed on this blog, you can bet the wabhound would have already been on the case.

Billy, thanks for your hard work, contributions to Giles County & backbone to stand up for the citizens. We will miss your contributions to county government. Please stay active & continue making this a better place simply by your presence. I'm sure you don't have to be sitting in your commission chair to make that happen. You don't have to attend meetings to make your influence felt.

How can some people be so rude? This blog I assume was setup to acknowledge that Mr. Beets was resigning and also to wish him well in whatever if any other pursuits he wishes to tackle. September 17,2009 10:11 was very rude and was only trying to get something going in a negative way. I have read and read about there being corruption in the county offices but no one has yet to get to the bottom of any only talk. So leave the man to resign and enjoy life Good Luck Mr. Beets and God Bless

I don't know you at all, and know nothing of your voting record. This I will say, you did have the courage to stand up and serve your county. Thank you and good luck in the future.
I wonder who Mr. Beets would want to take his seat on the Commission? He represented the People of the Third District so well. It will be hard to replace him.
No offense to Mr. Beets..I wish him well. But, he was not the best commissioner by a long shot to serve the 3rd district. He became complacent and was often times not there or uninformed. The 3rd district needs true representation and someone that will listen to the needs of the people.
Mr. Beets did listen to the wishes of the 3rd District residents. He is a good man who deserves a big thank you for the years he served. You maybe fixing to find out what true representation and listening to the people is all about! 3rd District may find out alot if the wrong person gets in there!
The 3rd district is more than Campbellsville. Of course Billy had their support. Ask outside of there and you will see differently.Nothing personal towards Billy but, he just wasn't with it.
