Giles Free Speech Zone

The purpose of the "Giles Free Speech Zone" is to identify problems of concern to the people of Giles County, to discuss them in a gentlemanly and civil manner, while referring to the facts and giving evidence to back up whatever claims are made, making logical arguments that avoid any use of fallacy, and, hopefully, to come together in agreement, and find a positive solution to the problem at hand. IDB/EDC Requirements To Be Members?

What are the general requirements for being on Economic Development and Industrial Development            Boards?

It seems that there is very little turn over among members of these groups. Should there more people given the opportunity to serve the county through these Boards or should the same people continue to serve year after year after year?

I believe that both these Boards have become small inactive cliques that allow their one employee to generally go unanswerable to anyone since the chairmen of these Boards seem to be mere rubber stamps of his activities.

The general requirement to serve on either of these boards (and do we really need two with the same function?) appears to be who you know, how much money you might have and what business(s) you own in Giles County. Same people have been on these boards for YEARS and still no improvement in the employment situation or how many new businesses come into the county.

True. Magnetti was brought here by Tn State Governor and State Economic Director. And the expansion was worked through the same avenues.

Darn right 1:54 AM, these people coming in here thinking that anything is gonna change are in a dream world. If they just hadn't passed Section 1 of 14th Amendment of the US Constitution and further stipulated that only those that are to be recognized as US citizens per Section 2 of the same Amendment were limited to those who emancipated under the stipulations of the 13th Amendment things would have been different perhaps.
