You are anonymous! And those behind their " blue letters and so forth" will be looking for another job because it won't be in this school system. Deadline may be coming up to pick director but far from over from the "process". When people present themselves in public as you and others did at a public function and some represent our school board, now that is embarrassment. You clearly made obvious who the "No one's or nobodies whatever you all call yourselves are. What an example you set for your children and grand kids. Trust me I have lived here and lived a long time, karma does happen. Do not wish it on you or anyone but when it does you will think twice. And the most interesting part of it all, some of the people that you despise right now would probably help you if you are ever in need. Never say never. My dad was in a nursing home a long time, and people with money or not, black or white, you never know who you will need in those times! But we all have to learn ,but some have to learn the hard way.

Yes...and about crap posts. People have downed a degraded and judged. Do some even know who their children are dating? Or how many parents, teachers have to deal with abortions because of shame of a black baby. It does and is happening. Now that could be interesting posts. Never say never!, some have had their babies and proud of them. Guess it could have been a person eating or shooting up drugs three times a day. But no one should never say never, because for some it will happen no matter if you move out of this county or now! Karma works in mysterious ways.

There is to be a short special called meeting before the interviews. The interviews are not a meeting they are a work session because decisions are not made. The reason for the called meeting seems to be a secret.

I am aware of policy. Too bad the board is not. I have a string feeling of why and good ole small town cannot keep too well of secrets. Being how the board has treated community whether they wanted JB or not, it is just wrong. But yes a special meeting they called for a special decision and it will be an extra special meeting for board. No doubt their lovely attorney will be there to continue to lead them in wrong direction. Have a feeling they will all be needing lawyers before long. All of them too busy worrying about Smith's mistakes and sins, but one especially may want to get his divorce attorney when his dirty ones come out. People so busy hurting other families but they seemed to have forgotten about their stuff that can hurt theirs. All a shame but true. A resignation would be wise for them, but too busy wanting Smith out. You know the old saying and have seen it happen for 70 years here. It will be worse before better I am afraid.

No one is trying to break up anyone's marriage. They are doing that on their own. People have been cruel. And if you think the anonymous letters, etc are not cruel, well then you are just like them.
You have not been listening as one said above. It is a shame. People have pointed fingers.Putting flyers in drive ways. People honestly think they are not known.
Others just showed support for someone that they felt is good for this county. That is their right and they are not anonymous. If others were against, so be it, at least they voiced it honestly face to face. Others are cowards. Hiding behind the scene.
So if you want to say shame on someone, you may want to look a different place. This blog you cannot stop people voicing their opinions. Others on here have abused all. Smith, Holt and more. But apparently you have not attended some meetings and was there after the fact. You would have found it interesting.
Some have left their names on this blog which I respect fully. At least they stand up to people.
So my opinion is if someone's marriage gets destroyed, it is only because of that person, not anyone else. If you do not have anything to hide, well then one should not be worried, should they?

Attended the School Board Meeting last night as the three remaining candidates for Schools Director were questioned.
I was impressed with the questions that were selected, a list of fifty questions had been compiled from those submitted by the public and those of board members.

While I was impressed with the questions the presentation of those questions was rather disappointing. Each candidate had 45 minutes to respond to questions. Instead of giving the candidate two or three minutes to respond to each question the candidates were allowed to ramble on and on with the result being less than twenty of the questions could be asked and there was no time for the candidate to ask questions of the Board.

Mr. Bush listed his strengths as "confident, persistent and driven". He listed such accomplishments as increased graduation rates at both schools he had served as principal. He listed the greatest challenge here would be to "build trust and prepare students not only for graduation but for after graduation as well".

Mrs. Shelton stated her greatest strength was "I am a curriculum and standards assessment expert". She also spoke of the need to increase graduation rates and her extensive experience as an administrator in school systems and with the state during the last two years. Her most impressive statement was, "people need to know they have a part in decisions". Mrs Shelton weakened her position by being supportive of "common core" and speaking more on theory than practical application.

Mr. Wright listed his greatest strength as "27 years in education and being named "Teacher of the Year" twice. Stated in response to "Why should we trust you with our children?" that "no real reason (to trust him now) trust is earned and you will soon see that trust grows from my involvement which will be in every area of the school and community".

Each spoke of the need to incorporate new and advancing technologies in the classroom and to increase the standing of the system within the state.

Two candidates will be asked to return on 14 May for a final round of questions. I can only hope there will be a better utilization of the time at that session.

For sure she should be proud of both. And I do not think the tin foil is what people need to worry about. I think some others should have considered some things. I did not see several of the little outsiders at meeting last night. Maybe the "farmers" in Elkton were farming, or maybe? Little wives may want to check on that. But then they probably don't care as long as the money is rolling in. Right under their noses, as so some others in the schools and in community. Might want to watch who your "friends" are.
I really think these people think the community is stupid! May not see names for now, but lived here a long time and don't think the community will let this one rest. In due time! I assure you! Their lives will change, but they just do not see it yet. Knowing some of these people all my life and it is sad!

They have wanted Bush from the beginning. Cobb was asked by Brewer says his friend. Know these people. Surprised of them all.
The farmers they mention, well surely not all but Cobb has one working at school. Farmer's wife. Not sure if she teaches or not, but may want to keep tabs on at home. Guess all of them too worried about who will be director. Sad part its right under their nose.
A lot of changes on the way. Teachers, principles etc. It is all going to get worse before better. And surely they do not think putting Bush in will help football. Board does not realize, community is pissed off.
A lot of people, teachers and staff involved in this matter. Just as the community supported someone for director well I can see them supporting education for the right reasons. The little farmers can make things happen with money, but the little rats and front runners, well those are the ones that are in stone. Maybe the farmers can bail you out of your troubles. Doubt it though because they do not want it to be ALL known. They have their problems of their own.
You are right above, the blacks are not yelling it. Others are, so at this point, I say let them yell it. Dam I have talked to more white people and they have said race was a factor. You see, we have known these people all of our lives. I cannot blame anyone yelling race one bit because it is true partly. JB can yell more than race in this matter. Holt, Mcmasters, Brewer, Lovell and Williamson along with some others in the system, Young, Mcree and many more. Cannot say I would blame JB if he brought all of them to the cleaners and even the school system along with the city commissioners and county. A lot of involvement. Holt runs his mouth too much around the town. Dont think they dotted their "i"s too well.
It is shameful to even know them at this point. As long as I have lived here and worked here, I can honestly say that this has stirred up this county. And to say all of this is not going to even be about education, well shame on a lot of the Giles County School System. Some teachers especially is the shocking part.

Yes they are oldies from the past and probably are drunk but the interesting part is they know the truth. I think what they mean is it will all back fire.
Talking about the last time this all happen with football.
Mayfield Edgeman Dunnavent, Holt, Their puppet Young, Board, Commissioners and a few others. Education is not first for these people. Never have been as long as i can remember.
Just about power. Always has been. Hell look at the name on the school. So do you understand now? Lived here and seen a lot. Don't know the saying exactly but it catches up. Really does. This blog. I have said my say and do not even care to view it ever again. As like me, we are anonymous and too chicken to even put our names because people are so cruel.
I really feel sorry for the kids. They are not helping them, just helping themselves. Just remember money or not, these kids have to take care of you all. My daughter is one that thinks coming to give me the paper is helping me. Wait until you sit in a chair in your own soil maybe you will wonder then how even your own kids can turn. It happens to most that are selfish in life, it has me. And you only is the one that suffers because the others really do not care! Bless all of you.

There are many feelings expressed here but few facts. I appreciate the interaction as part of our rights to speak freely. The thing that I find detestable is bringing in children and spouses that have nothing to do with a situation. A child has no control over who their parents are and a few adults have any control of their spouse, just as few parents have control over teen or grown children. Please can't our comments be confined to those people directly involved? There are some who are deserving of the harshest criticism but it is not those who have no involvement other than their genealogy.

Thanks Allen, things are getting out of hand. I rarely disagree with you but I do on the Smith thing. The first thing he did was give all the money back that Webb had cut for budget or whatever reasons. Smith claimed ignorance or his supporters claimed that. Give me a break, he knew exactly what he was doing, a page out of T. Jacksons playbook. Reward the ones you need to support you and to heck with the taxpayers. This is what the silent majority thinks, I hear it every day. Debra Braden was an interim director for awhile and the school system worked as smooth as I have ever seen it. Do not here any keep Braden advocates do we? The board is on the right track, whether they are are "professional" or not. Give the board a chance, if the turn out is not what you want, go to the polls. That is how our system works. Allen is right, quit slandering people because you cannot control them. Neither can their poor spouse or parent. You are only pouring salt in the wound.

5:26: You're absolutely right, except you forgot to add that when he gave the money back (much of it salaries, which he did not have the right to do) that included a hefty pay raise for himself. I'm not making things up or trying to spread a lie. It's the truth. What confuses me is that people don't seem to think there's anything wrong with that.

When he reinstated Berenetta Houston's prior salary, as well as that of others, he broke state law. Period. But anytime someone seems to bring that up the only response they get is some vague statement about the current or former board breaking the law, too. Well the former board, with the exception of one, is gone. And if the current board has, that doesn't mean Mr. Smith gets a freebie (or two or three) to do it himself.

And why don't people think there's anything wrong with the fact that he gave out $40,000 in bonuses that were unearned? Sure, he might have legitimately been confused about what the board's intent was and thought it meant people who had missed up to ten days could retroactively get their bonuses? But please tell me why he thought people who missed 20, 30, and over 100 days should get a bonus?

And to top it all off, Mr. Smith just doesn't have the same level of experience the other candidates have (although that's arguable with Bush who was nowhere near as impressive as the other two). He's been a great principal, but that just isn't the same thing as being a director. It's apples and oranges. He's never put together a budget or formulated policy -he said himself he had no idea how much the stuff in the budget amendment was going to cost. Why, when the one thing everyone on this blog has ever seemed to agree on, is the "good ol' boy attitude" in Giles County has got to go, do you want to support someone solely because he's from here?

I know exactly what's going to happen when I post this comment. People will call me CG (whoever that is -if someone could explain that would be great), and there will be accusations that I hate Mr. Smith or Allen Barrett or freedom or puppies. But I honestly don't foresee anyone addressing the things I've brought up. I just hope that someone out there who feels the same way will read this and know they're not alone.

I agree that Mr Smith as well as a number of others made mistakes. I supported Mr. Smith as Director and still believe that he would have been a good director with a little time and support but that boat has sailed. There is no current circumstance I can imagine where Mr. Smith would possibly be the director now. I doubt if he could be forced to take that position now. The point I tried to make was that it is uncalled for that noninvolved family members are being brought into the fray in the most disgusting and unfair ways.
I public official is open game for questions and legitimate criticism but why attack innocent family members just because they are related?
After listening to the candidates I am throughly convinced that Mrs. Shelton is far to much the professional bureaucrat with far more theory that practical application who is too supportive of "Common Core" to benefit students.

Common Core is such a bad program that the Tennessee Legislature has repealed it.

As proof of how bad the thing is the Tennessee House of Representatives voted unanimously (97:0) to repeal Common Core while the State Senate followed with a (27:1) vote in favor of repeal. It is rather unprecedented that every legislator republican and democrat, except one voted to throw this monstrosity out of our schools.

Mrs. Sheldon has a very impressive resume on paper the problem for me is her lack of actual classroom experience over the past ten years. Clearly by her own words she has been more a political figure than educator.

Bush or Wright, it does not matter. Neither are qualified compared to Stockdale, but our board would not have been able to handle him intelligently! He is way over their heads!!
No one had the questions. You are right on that one. And yes some empty seats at meeting, but the right seats were filled.
At this point, people are just letting things happen. "The Process".

What could Stockdale have possibly known about Tennessee education laws?

I would think he is intelligent enough to learn, don't you think? There are people that live in Tennessee and do not know the education laws. Just going to sit back and watch.
This school system has been down a long time. When my niece went off to college, she struggled and she was top 10 in her class. Although I miss her, she is happy and has a wonderful career that she could not have received here. She will never come back here. Her parents go to see her. If my children were still in school, I would move tomorrow. But they have moved on and so glad they have. Life was easier longer ago, but in today's world, the kids are the ones that will suffer and make some rough choices. And in today's world, it is not just about black or white, it is about meth or not? Sex or not? The focus is in the wrong places in some minds. But I guess as life passes, we will just have to see which road one takes.

James Carville, Democrat political consultant extraordinaire – and former Bill Clinton campaign manager, has astonishingly come out and said what all good Republicans have known for decades: Not only are most Democrats politically clueless; they’re easily manipulated by the puppet masters of their party as well. Wow. James Freaking Carville. Of all people. Here’s an excerpt, as quoted on Amazon.com:
“Ideologies aren’t all that important. What’s important is psychology.

The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That’s why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.
Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality.
What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.
The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn’t have a clue than there were Republicans.
Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.”

Let's get back onto a subject that shows how well Janet Vanzant and her gang have respect for our County.... Seems she fought to have a beer license issued to the "Choke and Poke" (oh I meant the Stop and Chat) in Campbellsville so that her friends can make money selling beer. Now they are accused for selling beer to minors.

Thank you Janet; your friends are truly forthright.

Can you imagine how the world will be for the kids and our grand kids? It is not looking too pretty. People cannot control it now legally and fairly, can you imagine the greed of tomorrow? Leave a smart ass answer if you choose, but watch the news before you do. Greed and cruelness is just not in Giles County! We only thought we had a lot to worry about when my kids were younger. Some cruelness in the world and the really sad part is, those people think it is the right thing to do! We sit in this little town and think it will not affect us, but it does and will!! When that child and grandchild wants to see the world, there is not a dam thing you can do about it! Out of our control!! We can only pray and hope that God watches over all.
People really do not think beyond their wants and what they think they can control, but in all, it is just a matter of time. We do have choices in our lives but our choices do control our tomorrows. Good or bad!

Anyone can state anything anonymous here and in letters. Downing people whether for or against. Anyone that has made it from a Somebody to a Nobody is because you choose to be a Nobody by being anonymous! At least the board and others do know exactly where myself and others stand.
I only hope that whomever the new director will be can work together with the board. Yes it is about the kids and the Giles County School Board System. Always has been. Others have made it about other things whether for or against and myself and others cannot control that. But those people are not afraid to stand for what they believe in unlike some here and the person writing letters, etc. I would say it is all about them because they are afraid of what they can lose so I would say that is a little selfish.
So keep giving your history lessons etc, here. As the board, it is everyone's choice and if people feel it is the right choice for the right reasons, then you should be able to live with it.
Good things happen to good people! Mr. Smith will move on and probably there is something even better out there! Everything happens for a reason!

No personnel changes should happen until 6 months to a year. The Director will not be from Giles County and surely or hopefully he or she would not be one to be controlled. That person needs to evaluate the school system first from their point of view. Not from others and especially the school board. If there are, people think the community was involved with the appointing of director, with the teachers and staff, well the board has already made their problems for themselves, so they would only make more. Community is just watching the process take place at this time. Then, well, their problems will be bigger. Been here all of my life and never have seen the hatred and cruelness this has shown through in people I have known all of my life, especially Brewer family.

Just read this entire thread - 20 days worth of inane bickering & abject ignorance, sprinkled with a few comments of logic/reason.

The "victims" of this mess are certainly the children & their education. But it goes much deeper than this. Our "good ol' boy" class of ignoramuses are guaranteeing continued economic malaise, as no business will want to locate in a county with dysfunctional schools. Which is great for the multi-generational ignoramuses, because "change" means progress, and progress means they lose their privileged "good ol' boy" status. The few children with devoted parents who DO earn a solid education must escape GC for good jobs and future opportunities for THEIR children. If we don't break this cycle we're doomed folks.

Meanwhile ... we keep electing "nice" people, with "nice" family reputations, disregarding experience, education, & professional temperament. Newsflash - there are a lot of "nice" people who are are also managerial idiots. As long as our voting criteria requires us to know a candidate's multi-generational history, and as long as we require candidates who are native-born with a GC education, while disregarding all other criteria, this cycle of governmental ineptitude will continue, ad infinitum.

Chances are my kids could come to this blog 20 years from now, and the same ol' bitchin will be going on, and the same ol' bungling incompetents running the asylum. It must be this way because the majority want it that way - there's no other explanation in a democracy.

I totally agree with your post. If the law would have been followed as it was written at the time Mr. Rose we would have a nice addition to the retail and employment of Pulaski. But instead the wishes of a few citizens who attend Pat Miles and Dan Speer's church were considered instead of the law.

When Pat Ford came into office what did he say? Oh yes. Pulaski was going to be the profit center of the South. I'm sure he had specific individuals in mind when he said this.

And now Pat Ford is stating it is the city's goal to build retail. This empty statement comes shortly after the city council has refused to allow retail to come into the downtown business districts because three churches are given preferred treatment by our city council over the law and retail establishments.

Very sad.

Write and believe what you want, but the 2:16 post is just not true!

Mr. Rose chose not to move his business there, and the city council provided every bit of information available to attempt to help those, and any other business that inquired. The beer ordinance was actually revised at this time in Rose's favor.

Where were you people who supported Richie when it was actually relevant? The city council members said they hadn't had a single phone call in favor of changing the beer ordinance in a way that would let him build his store. You can make anonymous blog posts but you can't make a phone call?

And for the record, Richie said he wouldn't build his store there if the church didn't approve as a courtesy. That had nothing to do with the city council.

No, the law was NOT disregarded. Richie was asking for the law to be CHANGED. It was changed much later but not to what he asked for. Because the property line of a place that sells beer has to be so many feet from a church (which is so stupid in 2015) he asked for the distance to be measured from the front door instead of the property line.

The church members didn't like that at all because when he said it was going to be a million dollar store that happened to sell beer they ACTUALLY SAID they didn't want a bunch of drunk people sitting on their church steps! Shouldn't those be the people they want to see at a CHURCH?

You can't sell beer within a certain number of feet of a church, school or playground. So you know what the church did next? They put in a bunch of playground equipment in back. Because their pastor said he didn't think the children should be exposed to the kind of people that would come in Richie's store and buy beer. What do the people at First Presbyterian think happens at gas stations? You would have thought a whore house was going in next door for the amount of pearl clutching that went on.

But you know what? Not one of you people called the city council and said hey, I think you should get rid of the distance requirement for the beer ordinance around churches. This is 2015 and its beer not cocaine. Everyone here is so quick to criticize what goes on as though you were a part of it but you couldn't even be bothered to make a call, send a letter or write an email.

Yes, everyone makes mistakes, but when you're specifically told this is who gets the bonus and you disregard that, that's not a simple mistake.

No one will talk about this because no one who can prove it is allowed to talk about it, but jesus people JB punched an autistic kid and got sued for it. That's your guy?

6:17,

That is a blatant lie. The city board excluded 5000 sq ft grocery stores from all distance requirements in 2008. That was a discriminatory act, created unfair competition, and there are numerous rulings setting precedent that a city may not enact different distance requirements for the distribution of beer.

Mr. Rose stated to the city board his establishment would comply with the 5000 sq. ft. requirement of grocery stores. And although the zoning ordinance acknowledges gas is a product of grocery stores the city board refused to follow law.

The city board did change the beer ordinance but to guarantee Mr. Rose's proposed business would not meet the requirements of the new restrictions.

The new ordinance allowed only groceries with 5000 sq. ft. of retail space, excluding walk-ins, behind counter areas, and bathrooms, from the measurable retail space. Mr. Rose was only going to have 5000 gross floor space, so how did they change it in Mr. Rose favor? You should educate yourself before spewing nonsense. Anyway, the city is about to be dragged in front of a judge to decide if what they have done is legal.

I think a lot of people are sick of the actions to deter businesses from coming into the area.

What you say is a lie as well. There have been those that have challenged the beer ordinances. I have witnessed it. I was in a meeting when the guy that owned Punk-n-Blues Cafe challenged the city for violating state law in the issuance of beer permits on public property. Andy Hoover, Dan Speer and the council told him he did not understand the law. He tried to talk to them and had the laws with him but the board would not talk with him.

The council recently changed the ordinance because it was in violation of state law, as the guy had stated two years ago, when I witnessed them treat the guy like he was an idiot.

I would appreciate if you would not assume an anonymous post is mine. I sign my name to my posts unlike you. A friend of mine reads this site and tells me to read it. At this point, I ask why? And no more!
I am assuming who you are, and I feel that I am correct. I was going to confront you last night, but felt it was not the correct time and place.
I say to you and anyone else, I am not ashamed of who and what I stand for as you are apparently scared to do.
I truly hope the new director can fix Giles County Schools. It will be a long and hard road and a lot on their plate. They can put a director from anywhere in, but if they do not work together as we see over and over again at every meeting that they do not, Giles County Schools will only continue to go backwards. I mean for heaven sake, bickering over toilet paper and where a meeting will be?
Everyone has a choice in life and they have to live with it. We all have kids and do not know what tomorrow brings.
At this point, the board probably did Mr. Smith a favor! I truly believe and know that now! Better things ahead for him. For Giles County Schools? A long road yet!
So I say good luck to you and good luck that you get or have gotten what you wanted out of this. I know myself and others are at peace and especially after last night's meeting, myself and others have seen and feel, it worked out how it was suppose to! Things happen for a reason! Thanks for making me see that because I do not want to no where near and want to be in your category, which in my eyes is "anonymous"! You type that very well! Good luck...maybe you can get back to where you were in the system, but doubt that!

10:36. You are so uninformed. JB did not get the job becsuse he is NOT a team player. It is his way or no way and that doesnt work in adminstration. The City Council,County Commission, and School Board couldn't work with him because he would not consult them about budget, salaries etc as he is supposed to do. He even called the County Commission members "assholes" in front of people in the court house. That cooked his goose to acquire any monetary support for education. JB would have ruined education because of this. He did several things illegally that few know about too. JB cut his own throat for the job. Totally his fault. Had nothing to do with Bill Holt and him marrying the same woman while they were employed at the same school. JB is an excellent adminstrator but he spoiled that for himself. No one else's fault but JB's. Dont blame innocent people just because you dont like them.

Embarrassing it was last night. I left after the toilet paper. I cannot even teach in this system anymore. After the new director is in, I am going to speak to he or she. They have to know some of the truth of behind the scenes that has been happening and at this point I am only concerned of my children and the children of the schools because others are not! I can find another job elsewhere but the kids cannot find another school just so.

1:59 I am uninformed? Tell me what business a school superintendent and the city council have going on?
Also, the commission and the school board purposefully set JB up on many occasions. There was not one bit of support from this group and other groups for reasons stated earlier.
We all know that JB would have been a very good superintendent, given time. The group of power hungry mongrels made sure that they got their selfish way!

And the council did not change the beer ordinance because it did not comply with state law. They changed it to help simplify and standardize it.

Most of the changes have already been discussed on other threads. It's a little late now. The latest change is that Elkton has gotten Donna Cobb as the principal.

Who is really in charge at the Board of Education? the Board seems to be wheeling and dealing to their drum beat. Webb on a string. Cindy Young moving into number two spot as her husband is chairman of the Board. No politics? Right!

Danny Hickman out as transportation supervisor. Pam Ogden out as Special Ed director. Braden out as Assistant Director. Gonzales out as Principal of Elkton. Alternative School closed. Two principals at GCHS to get different assignments. Shirey to become person in charge of transportation and maintenance. Janice Franklin named principal of Richland. Micah Landers to become Assistant principal at Richland. More to come....

Just because you are near retirement does not justify letting you go because you are near that point. None were anticipating being let go by the new director. It pays to have friends and relatives in high places.

There is a big difference in ready to retire and forced to retire. A school employee can retire after 30 years so basically most teachers can retire in early to mid 50's. Most are not ready at that age. Wanting to retire and being shown the door are two different things.

There is more on the thread comments just as ugly as on this one and the past others. Something how that good ole name is brought up in the old threads. I have seen the same ole people fighting forever. This time it looks as though some results will be surprising for some.

Cindy Young is Manager of Instruction???!!? With zero experience being a principal and only one year being a supervisor? I have nothing against her or anyone else personaly but if you take that out and just look at qualifications. Its hard to see how she can be thought the right person for the job when most of the others who have more experience and knowledge in being a leader. I don't have to deal with her much but most of the teachers in my school cringe when they see her coming because she wants everyone to do things and teach only the way she wants. This is the most shocking news yet. As bad as I hate to say it it is 100% obvious why she got the job and its not because of ability. As for Webb so far I think he has done some good things but I can't agree with this choice at all. there are others more qualified and who would be better at it based on personality only even without that.

You hit the nail on the head. It IS because her husband was elected to the board. It is only since then she has been moving up. She applied for nearly every principal or supervisor job that came open before that and got nothing but not any more. Coincedence? NOT! And no, no hating people going on here at all. Just hate the politics, that people use politics to get ahead when they cant do it any other way.

The board meeting was a joke. Gonzales in charge of the budget? He overspent his own budget way before first semester was over. What was McMasters thinking or even was she? Has she or any board member even taken the time to check into anything before spouting stupidity?????? And Brewer has no clue at all. We send in orders over and over for supplies and NEVER get them until JB steps in. Then MG blames the custodians. He was nowhere to be found during test time or any other time for that matter and left the schools hanging then blame them for test screwups. He is the biggest joke in the whole school system. We can't get supplies like toilet paper but the bus drivers will have nice new shirts to wear. If that is his priorities just imagine what the budget will look like. Rumor is he or Cindy will be assistant director and both have already been scheming for it. Wonder if Gonzales knows how bad Cindy talks about him behind his back? So sad for our schools.

If Ryland wanted to bash someone, she would at least confront you. I am sure she will if needed and that woman works harder than you ever have! And if you do not believe I work with you or work at Giles County High, myself and others will make it known. You really do not have a clue this time around. I posted that nonsense above because that is what it is, nonsense. You and others could care less about only yourselves! You have put people through hell! As far as for Ms Ryland working, she works harder than you ever have but I think it's a touch a jealousy because she does not have to and you do! You surely eat her food at school don't you? You have to send people to get your food secretly and surely eat it.
You could not even walk in one of her shoes and several other parents that support us. She knows exactly who is against her beliefs at school but she does not judge them and greets them just the same. You have no clue of who she is, but the right people do.
You will meet her face to face I am sure in the near future. I cannot wait until the next week is up so I do not have to cringe for a few weeks. Or maybe you will get your old office back on the hill so you can get out of our hair!!!
