Giles Free Speech Zone

The purpose of the "Giles Free Speech Zone" is to identify problems of concern to the people of Giles County, to discuss them in a gentlemanly and civil manner, while referring to the facts and giving evidence to back up whatever claims are made, making logical arguments that avoid any use of fallacy, and, hopefully, to come together in agreement, and find a positive solution to the problem at hand. I think they do a great jod with what they have. I feel that they need more man power both the city and county are running on a minnimum of employes and a minnimum budget. Shouldnt one of our first goals to be our safety not $1,400,000.00 for the school board biulding or that $7,000,000.00 sports complex. if you havent ever seen the pulaski police station on the inside you should.(its kinda sad) Look at it then go up stairs and see the city offices. (their nice)Again they do their best with what they have.

As with anything you have the good and the bad. There are some very trustworthy officers as well as the ones whos authority over others have went to their head. Those are the ones who have caused the police forces in giles county to be made fun of. Most of our officers do an honest and fair job, but than there are those who will ticket you if a plastic drink bottle accidently flies out of the bed of your truck, before you say anything I know littering is illegal but when you have children they put things in the back of a truck that a parent sometimes doesn't notice its not like we threw it out the window!
Basically I feel safe with our current law enforcement officers, but I believe that they could use some more help especially in the county.

Of course I feel safe. The mayor of the city of Pulaski stated that it makes the people of out lying communities feel safer when a police car is in the area. See he feels that he controls the entire county.

I don't live in the city but I know nearly every officer on the force. They are all pretty much family guys who do an outstanding job taking care of the crime in the city. If you are a drug dealer you can't say you aren't shaking in your boots because those guys are doing everything they can to let you know they will not tolerate drugs in Giles County. As for the Sheriff's Dept. they do a decent job but they are so short handed it takes them forever to respond. I myself have a report that is over 3 months old and I can't get the inv. officer to respond to any of my messages.

Wake up Giles County!!! How can our law enforcement officers be doing such a great job, when approximately 6 out of 10 of our young people are addicted to prescription pain relievers. Just in the past 3 weeks I have known 1 young man to die from a drug overdose and 2 other young men to be hospitalized and on life support from the same, drug overdoses. We have a terrible and tragic problem on our hands and until we are willing to open our eyes we will continue to loose our young people to this horrific crime. These are not just children of the middle and poor class anymore. They are from every class. We must not continue to let these drug dealers kill our Children!!

How can you? The giles county sheriffs deputies Scott and Booth shot and killed a woman in her own house and then maybe burgalized it as well.
