E-mail topic: Time to bring back CART?
Should the local political watchdog group formerly known as CART (Citizens Against Repressive Taxation) be reconstituted, and if so, could former CART chairman Allen Barrett give pointers for leadership to ensure continuity?

OK - general consensus on this blog is that the radio station airs only what they wantusto hear and the newspaper reports biased, would somebody out there who is concerned and good at organizing maybe get some people together, arrange what meetings to go to and then they could report back on this blog.

WAB, are you saying that even if you do get elected and the interest is right, you will work to revive the CART group?

When you were arrested were you representing the CART group?
I attended the meeting at the tech center and enjoyed being there to hear Gill speak. Would like to see this group start up again.

Other than the then impending tax hike the same problems still exist today in Giles Co. Surely there is still a need for such an organization as CART.
I have often wondered why I never received a response to my contact info given at the Gill meeting.
You say you think liability was the cause the group no longer exists. Was there a particular liability issue that arose and if so has it been resolved so that the group could be started up again with a larger number of active members?

In light of the commission meeting this past week, I will have to say if the their actions continue in the same manner, we need some kind of group to force some answers from the tight lipped CE and commissioners
we need a person in office that can make a decision and stick to it. vanzant signing the petition against the spring deal is just crazy.
Some may feel squeamish about eating it, but rabbit has a fan base that grows as cooks discover how easy they are to raise — and how good the meat tastes.
