Giles Free Speech Zone

The purpose of the "Giles Free Speech Zone" is to identify problems of concern to the people of Giles County, to discuss them in a gentlemanly and civil manner, while referring to the facts and giving evidence to back up whatever claims are made, making logical arguments that avoid any use of fallacy, and, hopefully, to come together in agreement, and find a positive solution to the problem at hand. Public Meeting Posponed

Due to uncontrolled inabilities or will to follow state law the public meeting scheduled for 7 July at 9 am to discuss the county budget has been postponed until 9 am on 14 July at the Pulaski Elementary School. All the other requirements are still in place, if you requested to speak you may want to re-submit your request just in case. If you have not yet requested permission to speak do so soon and come prepared to ask all the questions you have been asking your friends and neighbors. Allen Barrett

I read the TCA on this Financial Management and nowhere does it say a limit of 3 minutes to speak. I think anyone wanting to ask questions has unlimited time.

The "uncontrolled inabilities" or will to follow state law speaks for its self.

To the Anonymous of the 4 July 6:12 PM post.

I wrote "Due to uncontrolled inabilities or will to follow state law" the public meeting scheduled for 7 July was being postponed.
The state has set certain rules and
requirements for and about this meeting. My comment was that because those state rules and requirements were not met the meeting had to be postponed in order to meet those requirements.
Some in charge have shown an almost total disregard for state law and guidelines when those laws have been inconvenient. This time they yielded to the law or at least a part of it. Allen Barrett

Just when I thought things were getting better, the IIC (idiots in charge) are back trying to screw things up. Guess somebody got mad cause the first 2007-8 next to last budget amendment & spending increase got whacked! Holt supposedly acted like an idiot in the budget meeting right after that. Guess it's heads in the sand & hinies in the air again - what a target that'd make for a runaway school bus with the pedal stuck to the metal.
