Congratulations to The School Board

Last night at the School Board meeting the results of a long awaited telephone audit was announced and a new agreement was entered into by the school system that will save over $1200.00 a month. Thanks to the School Board's proactive stance there will be no more $1.00 per minute calls made at taxpayer expense. There is reason to be encouraged by this Board.

Now if the city and county would only follow suit. When I asked the city manager over a year ago now many phones were being used by city workers, how many personal calls were being made and at what cost to the city he very defensively responded that he didn't know and wasn't concerned about it. This was stated in a City Council Meeting. It's this kind of attitude that keeps cost up and confidence in public officials low.

There is hope for Giles County!

As someone said elsewhere, it's time to drop the hammer on Alexander & Davis & any others that voted to give the global banks $700 billion of our money!

I want someone who will protect our borders and send the illegals home!

If we stopped paying for health care, food and housing for illegal aliens we could have had the money to bail out the companies. We need to stop spending money on non tax paying aliens.

There are many reasons not to vote for Davis. However, he did vote against the $700 billion.

The word is illegal aliens. I am talking income tax, social security and etc not sales. They benefit from welfare but we don't deport them. If they are illegal then the employer is not paying them through payroll therefore there are no taxes being deducted. Employers can't pay without social security numbers and if they are illegal they don't have those. Legal aleins are a different story, they have work permits and visa's. They actually pay in.

Davis also voted to get rid of illegals! I am very conservarive, but he has my vote and all the moral support I can give him!

We have some good conservatives - but, Alexander? - opposite & deserves to be dumped, even if the chioce is a bad one. We need people with conviction & who will represent the people, not $$$. special interests!

Davis is a Fraud. He wont be straight with his constituents and just tell them that he plans to run for Governor in 2010, instead he expects us to send him back to D.C. so he can collect a check while running for Governor for the next two years.

Davis also prides himself on being such a fiscal conservative, all the while doing NOTHING to fix the biggest financial crisis ever seen in America. I am not talking about the current situation that the idiots in D.C. are working on. I am talking about the ever increasing national debt. Davis has spent six years in Congress and has not introduced one meaningful piece of legislation addressing America's true financial crisis.

Why did Davis refuse to debate his opponent last week in Columbia. He just didn't show up for the scheduled debate. What's he afraid of?
Yes, Alexander and Corker or very liberal especially with our money and giving away the country but even so only a fool would vote to give more support to Harry Reid or Nancy Polosi.

The conservative choice doesn't exist anymore. What could be worse than McCain? - he flagrantly doesn't support the laws of the land! BOrder security & the sovereignty of this nation are desecrated daily, by him and every other political panderer! Good men don't break the law, they follow it!!

Yes, the only worse option is Obama - a complete destroyer. We can add Peolsi to that list! However, they run for what they stand on - communism! The other idiots are simply running on their coattails!

I figure the best solution is voting for the sorriest bastard on the ballot - let 'er rip & let the nation feel the full grip of terror & decay.

We'll be ready for a revolution before 2 years pass & maybe we can put humpty dumpty back togeter then. If not, we'll be like Cuba anyway, a nation too dumb to even find a handout!

Has anyone thought about the takeover of global banking - the same vicious predators who have driven the poor & middle class to their knees. Can anyone spell unrestrained global monopoly?

You are right in your thoughts that we are headed down a short road to socialism. Both presidential candidates are running down that same road with Obama running a good bit faster but the end of the road is near with both. Only Gov. Palin is a hope in this sordid bunch.
You are wrong about "being ready for a revolution in 2 years and putting Humpty Dumpty back together". Just as you can't put toothpaste back in the tube or unscramble an egg, the destruction of this nation will not cause a revolution, fight has been taken out of the people replaced with whining. That can be seen in our own community where people are afraid to speak up against wrong and stand up for right. When either is done there are plenty from the sidelines waiting to criticize.
Children now grown were raised in an environment of indoctrination that has made them both idealistic lazy fools and wimps detached from the political activities that surround them. As a nation we have no stomach for the hard decisions seeking only to get along even at the cost of the principles so many have died and suffered for. A look into "The Wall" reveals the names of those who died in Viet Nam and the reflections of those reading those names. Problem is except for us old folks most fail to see themselves in those sacrifices.
We have been invaded by an enemy that hates us and seeks to destroy our way of life, we stand on the brink of electing one of those president, and there is hardly a noise made. We have been made to believe that killing millions of innocent babies is a womans right instead of a national disgrace that carries consequences far beyond this "give me" generation.
What hope do we have left, God only but that must be a hope with action. Action to stand firm and speak up against wrong, action to be informed, action to face the criticism without yielding, action to do what you know is right regardless of the consequences or whether anyone is looking. And yes even action to take up arms if the need arises.
Life is about to change for the worse in this once great nation and for the most part "we the people" don't have the interest, energy, intelligence or the courage to do anything about it.
As Mrs. Obama said "you got to vote your interest" and almost every debate and political ad has centered around that idea, "what's in it for me", "what are you gonna give to me"? JFK challenged us with, "Ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country", today that challenged has been changed to "I'll give you more than you can carry if you'll only vote for me and to heck with this country".
It's sad, mighty sad that we have come to this. Allen Barrett

Can WAB get something started on this blog about it. After all if we are not happy with our current county executive, commissioners, etc. what we are unhappy with should br posted. Get some dialogue going and lets do something about CHANGE.

wab - can't disagree with any of your response -

Intended to convey the 2yr. scenario as a country ready for 1) revolution or 2) a clone of Cuba, which the country will be if there is no revolution.

Right now, the people are as you state, thanks to a corrupted education & political system working hand in hand to destroy individuality & freedom. It's a lot like a system of many idols with the masses running behind trying to emulate their every perverse suggestion without purpose or understanding.

There are more freedom minded people in this county than most can imagine. Problem is a massive content with their nose just above water, who fully understand the next little wave they create will drown them. They don't understand they'll drown anyway if they don't drain the damned (literal) lake.

God is not passive about evil or those who let evil take over their land! There's a lot more "slew" than "turn the other cheeks".

While I disagree with you about a lot of things, let me say that I, as a conservative, am in total agreement with you about the shape of things to come. Our nation has become one of entitlements for the slothful and a mecca for the killing of innocent children all in the name of a woman's convenience or choice. Outrageous!
Psalms 139 (as well as other passages) offers a good argument against abortion. And, as far as our being on the brink of electing one who will carry us down the final leg on that road to destruction, I am afraid that he (obama) will get the job. But, take heart and consider this. If our nation can survive four long years of him, we will NEVER have to worry about having another democrat in the white house during our lifetime. I never would have thought that a socialist like obama would even stand a chance in this country because of the millions of Christians who KNOW darned well that they should not be voting for and supporting pro-murder and pro-homosexual politicians! THEY KNOW BETTER, and I am absolutely furious about that. And where are the pro-life Catholics? This election should be a landslide victory for McCain and Governor Palin. But sadly, the entitlement mentality is likely to win out. And even if they (democrats) can overlook and excuse themselves for supporting abortion and homosexuality, it looks like the tax increases would cause some of them to sit up and take notice! Even obama's promise to let the Bush tax cuts expire amounts to a hefty tax increase for ever single one of us! I just don't get it.
Having said all of that, I am astounded that the leftist media never mentions obama's connection to some very unsavory characters. I suppose that doesn't really matter to democrats either! This is NOT the same party their parents and grandparents were a part of! No, it is, as the Vatican called it, the party of death! Yes, it's time to turn to God and trust Him.

I think it's clear in the context of the full statement what was meant.
A look at Sen. Obama's record and statements should make it clear that his ideology runs very counter to that of the founding fathers. McCain isn't a super great alternative but there is no doubt about his commitment to this nation. Obama on the other hand is a socialist directly opposed to a capitalistic society. His own comments that he wants to take from those who earn and give to those with less and will use the tax system to accomplish this, is simply a redistrubition of wealth,
that will take the incentive out of accomplishing anything other than mediocre.
This guy is an out and out socialist and therefore an enemy to capitalism. Look at his own financial record of giving last year over 4 million dollars income and less than $10,000.00 given to charity what a generous guy.... with other people's money.
It would take a fool to believe that Obama will go after the Congressional black caucus, Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Franklin Raines, Chris Dodd, ACORN or the crooks on Wall Street who are directly responsible for this financial mess. It takes an even greater fool to believe that he will not do the same thing Clinton did in promising not to raise taxes then bringing in the biggest tax increase in history. Clinton's tax increase will be a light weight in comparison to Obama's. By his own words his desire is to take from those who earn and give to those that don't. Read his book and you'll see the whole plan, born to an irresponsible Muslim and atheist, raised by grandparents he turned on when it was convenient, years spend using and selling drugs including "crack", mentored by a Marxist and communist party employee, connected to the most corrupt political machine in the country, follower of the American hating racist Jeremiah Wright who he refers to as one of his most important influences, and married to a woman filled with hate and anger who obviously learned her lessons well from Mr. Wright.
Sen. Obama with the most liberal voting record, when he votes, is an enemy to this nation based on his words, record, connections and ideology. Do I think he will blow up the world of course not but he will change our way of life to where it is unrecognizable, and essentially give Israel over to the Iranians. Allen Barrett

By the way, why isn't this information being shouted from the pulpits in churches all across this nation?
Seriously, people need to be made aware of this. I doubt that many democratic voters would accept it because their grandparents and parents always voted democrat, but you never know.

Hopefully, the therapist can help you to rid yourself of two very negative personalities (Riddler and Anonymous Whiner) with an eye toward making you normal again. It's going to take a good one to get you through this. In fact, the therapist may suggest that you relocate to San Francisco or Detroit. You speak of the Klan. Well, where have you been? The KKK, along with democrat Robert KKK Byrd, is in your corner. Don't you find it rather odd that blacks work their butts off to elect the very democrats who wanted them kept in chains of slavery and who even today keep them enslaved by dependency and entitlements that don't have a thing to do with self-sufficiency and personal repsonsibility? Please help me understand that. Moreover, wasn't it the Republican, Abraham Lincoln, who set blacks free? I believe you will find these things to be true if you'll check your history book.
As for myself, I have no problem with a black being in the White House. What I DO have a problem with is having an inexperienced man there when a real crisis comes. And it is the liberal, Joe Biden, who said to "mark his words" that Obama will be faced with a major crisis before he is six months into his term (giving that he would be elected). Why hasn't the liberal media screamed out for him to explain what he means? We all know why. The media, with the exception of Fox News, is in the tank for Obama..or Lassie for that matter....if Lassie was running against a Republican. Think.
I keep wondering how long it's going to take black people to wake up to how they are absolutely being used for their vote and laughed at for doing so.
Lastly, I find it shallow of you to base your assessment of a man's intelligence and leadership ability on the expertise with which he forms sentences. That's both outrageous and DANGEROUS!
