Meeting Time Changes For Power Board???????
After much criticism of the time, 7 AM, for Power Board Meetings and the promise that the issue would be addressed, after more than two months the time remains at 7AM.
The explanation given by the Chairman was that "the Board has had too much on their plate to deal with a meeting change". While I expressed appreciation to the Chairman for the reduction of hostility expressed in last month's meeting I was disappointed that nothing had been done to change the time.
Later The Chairman stated that he had done a survey and the majority of those asked were satisfied with the present time for the meeting. After some questioning it was determined that most of those asked in the survey had been Board Members.
If there is a true desire to have more participation by the public then more from the public should be asked about a time for the meetings. Allen Barrett

Agree wholeheartedly. We need a time change in order for those of us who are fortunate enough to have a job an opportunity to attend meetings. Did I misunderstand? I thought in one of the PES Hearings they said the meetings would change to meet the requests of the public. Is the Chairman of PES Board only catering to the board again? Sounds like nothing has changed.
WKSR said they would discuss eocnomic development expenditures at meeting. Did they?

if the public is interested, it shouldn't matter if they meet at midnight - they should be there. The people involved in the meeting also have other schedules that they have to abide by. If that time is good for the participants, then that's when they should have it.

7:00 You forget, the Board is in place to serve the community, the same folks who pay their meeting fees and retirement. Midnight? Yes,just like you would be there, right? Obviously you are a PES employee.
Why not contact the board members and let them represent our thoughts, feelings and concerns. The public does not have to be at the meeting to be represented.

9:18 Has not and will never happen. You must have missed the PES Hearings then you would know. The board only represents Dan Speer.
The Board is not supposed to represent anyone/anything other than the best interests of Pulaski Electric Company. It is not the Power Boards responsibility to represent your thoughts and concerns.

You are so absolutely right about those people. And I believe strongly that the reason one of them is so critical of Mrs. Vanzant is that he wants her job. It seems that he does everything he can to tear her down and to make her look bad in front of others...with that objective in mind. It's what I would call a subtle smear campaign. And it has gained some traction, because many people will eagerly listen to mess like that and not think for themselves. It's really sad, but politicians and wannabes do this all the time.
If my suspicions are right, there's really nothing to worrry about. He can never be elected, because too many people know how he really is. Thank God.

If there is something sinister going on and that person plans to run against Vanzant in the upcoming election it would be good to know who to and who not to vote for. Don't you think?
T. Campbell claims he is. Told it everywhere before too. He won't run against her. Small minds come up with small ideas. Thinks if he says he is running it will scare others off. Won't happen. He will have a tough time getting his commission seat back in his district.
Campbell must not be the one 5:23 was meaning. Campbell is very tight with Vanzant. Tells her what to do and she does it.
5:23 is speaking about Mr. Barrett as usual. I don't know what that has to do with this topic. As always just another ploy to get everyone off the topic.
Mr Barrett isn't interested in being County Executive only in having someone in that position who is competent and honest neither qualification is currently being met. I know this for a fact because I recently asked Mr Barrett about this very issue. I believe he is interested in running for commissioner in his diatrict but he said nothing for certain in our conversation. I wish he would run for county executive instead of commissioner as I believe he has more county wide support than district support.
Janet and Tommy Campbell are probably in cahoots with one another. She asks him to spread the rumor that he is gong to throw his name in the hat to avert anyone else from considering it. Although he has NO chance at all in winning. If there is another competent candidate running against Janet she will ask someone to run as a third candidate to split the vote so she will have a better chance to be re-elected. This is a tactical move on her behalf that I have heard she has done in the past. I know who is going to run against her and this person will definitely give her a good run for her $$$. They care the job is done with morals and ethics and completely above board. Ha...already just on those characteristics alone should have her beat.
