Will The Real Finance Director Please Stand Up!
Does it seem odd to have the retired Mrs. Judy Roberts attending County Budget Committee Meetings and being asked questions about county finances while the "Real" Finance Director sat ignored by committee members? Was Mrs. Roberts there as merely an interested observer or as a paid consultant... she has not been at any other committee meetings since retiring. The more interesting question is if she is a paid consultant, as some commissioners have stated, then at what meeting was there authorization to hire her and to expend county funds to pay her. Yes, its true. Don't know how much being paid.

What's happening? Is the spooks trying to undercut the director. If so, it's time to whack their knees. Give the lady a chance & support!
I don't know if Judy Roberts was hired as a consultant for the finance office..but I can say one thing if she was, she will be a valuable asset to help Mrs. Garner in the transition from the public sector to government accounting. It is very different.
Judy knows more about county government than any one in Giles County. She was a valuable employee who gave much to Giles County, yes, she was compensated but that is what we all work for.
In the last year I have heard so many negative comments about Judy Roberts, but I too work in county government and I will tell you that she was a asset to Giles County. She will be missed.
I know that Mrs. Garner will do a great job. She seems to have the same work ethics and dedication to the job that Judy did. I hope that the people that have been so negative to Judy in the past will leave Mrs. Garner alone and let her do her job.
