Wonderful! Good to see some new folks running. Wish them the best of luck in their election. Time to move out those who have been in office for years with their special interests and agendas.

So now the person can come forward who insists Mr Barrett has a "group" that will be running in the election, and tell us who in the candidates list is a part of that "group". No excuses for not providing the names.

Special interests and agendas? I'd guess the "non-existent" group has an agenda too. I think at least two of the new folks are barrett followers. There will be more.

7:51 So who do you think those two are - or don't you even have guts enough to say who you think they might be, even annonymously. What a wuss you are.

I haven't posted above, but who cares who the Barrett follows could be. Just vote out the ones in office.

Folks, you need to think long and hard about voting these radicals into county offices. They have attempted this before and failed. They are obviously not going away, so vote them OUT before they ever get in. In my honest we don't need any worse trouble with these people than we already have.

If you call keeping taxes low, preventing new taxes, treating everyone equally, having accountability of those in office, expecting honest and truthful responses to inquiries, increasing the opportunities for the creation of new jobs and an open government where things are not done in secret and the county isn't being sued every other month then I say we need these trouble makers who ever they are.

What radicals can 6:12 be referring to? She wont even anonymously post who she means. Must be Bill Holt as he would be considered radical after that cussing display he did in public at the ball field last year.

Seems like the same poster who comes on every single topic that's ever been on this blog is now complaining about the "group" of Barrett followers and how "they" will be running for office. So far has only hinted about two of the candidates belonging to that "group". There are 21 seats open which should make for 28-30, at least, people running for commissioner seats. Must be an awfully small "group" that has this person so afraid that the powers that be who are in office now will have to do what's right for the county and its citizens for a change.
6:12--the radicals are already IN office, i.e. Jackson, Lovell, Campbell for starters. Jackson admitted in a committee meeting that HE was the one who contacted CTAS, etc. re: beer distance vote. Janet takes her orders from Jackson.

Yes , you got that right ! Anyone who wants to see Vanzant out of office needs to encourage friends and family to vote out Holt, Lovell and Stony Jackson too or else her influence will linger longer .

Well haven't you heard; it's a non-existent group who collaborates via mental telepathy. How else could they compare notes and plot strategy? Hilarious.

People who are jealous usually are the ones doing the berating.
Sounds like the corrupt ones are afraid of losing their hold on the citizenry. People are waking up to their shenanigans.

Don't forget Chad Harris who goes along with Lovell and Jackson now. He used to be a person who could think on his own but not anymore. He'a a follower not a leader.

Who is jealous and doing the berating? I think you are referring to the wrong group there. No, what people are truly afraid of are people who think like you.
What shenanigans? What about the non-existent group who never meets and yet has a well-orchestrated plan for "progress" in Giles County? Oh, but that's different, right?
I see Chan Harris is added to the list. Why? Because it's election time. Will you be smearing his name anytime in the near future?

Chan Harris smeared his own name when he voted for the beer permit against the resolution passed by the full board of commissioners. Did ya'll know he is the supposed "chaplain" of the commission.

When Vanzant announced the statement said that she was married to Joe Vanzant and a son Joe Jr. that works at the Impact Center. She is already using her son as a vote for me poor me. It's one thing to want your child to be a part of society, but to use your child as a vote getter that's pure low down. Why do you people vote for her? Even if she did a great job, she uses her Mentally Challenged son to get votes.

Wow to not having children! Since so many have picked their papers up to run that has children the race should be close. If the people you think should be running and not the ones who picked up their papers should then get them out there to pick them up. That's the sad part about politics. Everyone says someone else would be great, but why aren't they running. Especially you that makes these remarks.

Mr. Barrett
I understand there are only three people, including yourself, in your district who are running for commissioner? If that be true, I know you are glad a fourth person doesn't decide to run. We both know that, should a fourth candidate run, you would come in fourth in a three man race. Looks like you will be going in as a commissioner if nobody else runs, and that has got to leave a sour taste in your mouth.

What a mean spirited comment from one who claims to be the avenger of mean.
First of all the qualifying isn't over until 12 noon on April 1st. Anyone living in that district including you can still qualify.
Second other than you noon else can foretell the future and know the hearts of others.
Third not only does your comment reveal you as a cowardly person but a very small person.
Whether Mr Barrett is elected or not at least he tried which is more than can be said about you and he is not terrified others will find out who he is and hold him accountable for the things he writes and says. If you had any integrity you would congratulate all those running for at least trying to take responsibility and make a difference in their world.

Why would you think being elected commissioner would "leave a sour taste" in Mr Barrett's mouth?
If he is elected I believe it will cause a shiver where your spine should be.

I think it is time for the commission to have someone that will stand up for what he believes in. That is equality, justice, honesty and spine. Maybe if the commission gets enough ministers and God fearing people on it somehow someway that might just be the key to changes for the better in Giles County. We need commissioner that talk the talk and walk the walk instead of talking to be heard and the walk being a strut. We have a few cocky ones on the commission and on is in the 7th district that would be nice to see gone by a fourth running to hopefully get him out. Some of the commissioners have been on long enough to start smelling like fish. Time to throw out. What is the latest on people that have papers in on school board. I think someone is being run against in three of the four districts. District one has someone running that hopefully wasn't hand picked by Norman. If so someone please qualify in District one that won't be like Kathy and think the world evolves around Jackson. Because it DON'T! I know that Coleman has turned her papers in for School Board in Seventh District. Nothing from Murrey yet there. Greene and Young is still questionable. This could be a year for voters to get out and make a difference in our county and our country. So VOTE_VOTE_VOTE

I'm not being mean. On the contrary, I am sharing my opinion with the readers. Isn't that the main purpose of a blog? Or, in this case of this one, is it the objective to consider only those opinions that come from people who view things as you and a few others seem to do?
Why would I think barrett's being "elected" would leave a sour taste in his mouth? I explained that, but you must have missed it. Here's the deal. Since three will be elected (so I hear), and if only three are running in his district, how could he lose? So, you see, a fourth candidate would mean that he would have to actually be elected, because someone will lose. Henceforth, it would have to leacve a sour taste in his mouth...in my humble opinion.

Look DimWit you post an opinion and I post an opinion. Your opinion is stupid in my opinion but they are both only opinions. My opinion is that you should stop whining while your opinion is you have more whining to do. Your opinion is that you are the smartest person in the world and the only reason people disagree with you is they don't like you pointing out bad behavior in your opinion but my opinion is your behavior is as bad if not worse that those you whine about. In your opinion you are right about everything and everyone else is wrong about everything they don't agree with you on. My opinion is you are a hypocrite whose opinion is based on nothing but stall air.
Your opinion is that I like WAB more than I like you which in my opinion is true not because I agree with WAB on everything but because he has the integrity to sign his name when you and I don't. In my opinion that doesn't make me like WAB more than me just more than you. But of course that's just my opinion which in my opinion is much more valid than your opinion.

Why, oh why must you resort to calling names when someone has, in my opinion, a different opinion from your opinion? In my opinion, it is mean-spirited to scoff at another's opinion.
Have you not heard that opinions are like noses? Everybody has one. In my opinion, your opinion that my opinion is inferior to your opinion is simply a matter of arrogant opinion. In my opinion, my opinion is far superior to your opinion. Of course, everything I have said is simply a matter of my opinion.
