Do You Think The Elections in Giles County Are Accurate?

This is a topic requested by a reader. It was also requested that a fishing and hunting report would be added. At this time I am not able to include such reports but would be glad to post them if submitted by readers.

At least a hunting/fishing report would have value.

Do we "think" the elections are "accurate"? Is that like do we "think" chocolate is good? Some of us do and some of us do not. And "accurate"? What does that mean? I presume the machines add up as they are checked and counter-checked.

Consequently, if the topic is do we "know" the election [totals] are "accurate", then the answer is a undeniable yes.

Of course, all you conspiracy theorists, bring it on, let's hear some uneducated drivel.

The Mayor won't be confirmed until some numbers start to balance out. Do the math. Does anyone remember the radio announcers telling the night of the election that Bridgeforth had two boxes, but gave only one box. Or did they combine. Still have some big questions concerning some of the votes from Martin. It seems that one voter also voted in Gallatin. Looking a voter fraud. Time will tell.

It seems strange that all across the nation in all cities’ entire encumbrance was unanimously voted out. Except in Giles County all encumbrances was re-elected. Pat known by all and who was pushed and paid for by the (good ole boys) Dan Speer, Steve Spivey (aka Cardon Distributing), and Terry Harrison to secure Dan and Terrys among some to secure there outrageous paychecks on the tax payers.
Then we have Eddie Bass. 1.6 million In lawn mowing contracts. And they were voted in by a land slide. Are people in Pulaski really happy with our economy and jobs availability, Rich getting richer off the taxpayers. Do you think people in Pulaski will re-elect the same people in office? I don’t think so. I bet the voting machines were tampered with. That would be the Pulaski good ole boys style.
People always say only in Giles County! But now they can say it and mean it.

I've actually worked a few of the elections and you know what, they are. It's been my experience that everyone from Kathy Bassham, the director of the election commission, to the people who run the machines, take great pains to make sure that not only is every procedure followed, but that no one is turned away who shouldn't be. If any kind of tampering was going on, at any poll, at any level, it would be incredibly difficult to keep that a secret. Multiple copies are made of every result, all of which have to be signed by different people (but not the same people on every set of results -that way no one can say the same few people are signing everything or trying to hide something). I might not like the result of every election I've voted in or every election I've worked, but I have no doubt that they are accurate. I think (and I'm not saying anyone in particular is doing this) anyone who assumes that an election that isn't in their favor must be fixed or innaccurate is someone with way too little faith in their fellow citizens.

Whether the candidates themselves are free from scandal (I'd love to know one person who is) isn't really the question. The elctions themselves are fair.

I am tired of hearing all the lies on Eddie Bass. His family has the mowing contracts, because they bid to do it cheaper than anyone else. Anyone with one eye and half sense would know the contract amount is not what they make. Try pricing a tractor, bush hog and weed eaters. Then figure the salaries of employees. In that type of work what do you think their insurance runs. Lets not forget the price of tires.(try pricing a tractor tire). With bottles thrown out ,I shudder to think of tire cost alone. If anyone thinks they are paid too much TURN IN A BID TO DO IT FOR LESS.

Do you have any clue as to the amount of charity Steve Spivey, the Cardin family, and Cardin Distributing donate to our community each & EVERY year? No you don't because they give it from the heart while refusing to accept recognition for their generosity. From ball teams, bands, banners, people with special needs, people with health problems, veterans, and the list goes on longer than you can imagine. They work 24/7 operating a business that provides good jobs to the people of Giles County. They ask nothing in return. You don't even know how to spell their name and you flop your lazy _ _ _ down and type away constructing words of ignorance of which you haven't a shadow of knowledge about. I have asked the Cardin family numerous times for donations on several fronts and they have NEVER hesitated to support different endeavors across varied needs.

Eddie Doesn't cut the darn weeds. His family does and has way before Eddie became our Representative. They do bid on the contracts and again you will not find a family anywhere with bigger hearts or family values than the Bass family. You get a piece of mail that distorts the truth and you go around spewing a lie you received from a liar. Most all democrats got the boot but Eddie. The reason is many people like myself grew up with Eddie, went to school with Eddie, raised our families along beside the Bass family, and know darn well the jerk from Lewisburg represents all that is wrong with our political system. The Bass family is way out of your league. Get a clue before you spew!

You can make light of the election corruption all you want but that will not change the facts. Giles County has a long history of voter irregularities with such things as comatose patients at the nursing homes filling out absentee ballots, certifying unqualified candidates and votes, telling people who to vote for when they enter the booth and of course the very powerful Maplewood precinct.

A question for you to get answers to and should it be allowed Mr. Barrett:

Should Martin students be allowed to vote if they are from out of state and continue to say they are residence of their home state and if they vote should they not have proof of citizenship by having a TN license with a real address and not a PO Box at Martin. The only way Ford won was by doing this.

Mr. Barrett this should give you an idea!!!!!Next time you want to run for office and secure winning bring in your friends and relatives from other counties and states and register them at your residence. Wouldn't that be the same difference as what Ford did at Martin. And you might find out how many places Jack Gregory voted this Aug. and Nov. This should make for a great topic.

Sunday, November 14, 2010 1:23:00 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

And one more thing: Should Martin college employees have been as involved as they were. Rumor has it Ted Brown sent out a memo on College letterhead to notify different people on who to vote for. And didn't Martin Vehicle bring students to the poles. And won't Ford be a conflict of interest.

If you want answers ask the questions yourself or better yet Vickie should ask herself and not expect Allen Barrett or anyone else do the work for her. Typical of Vickie. Why would you ask Barrett do anything for Vickie after the way she has treated him?

Why was it wrong for Mr. Barrett to contest the election he was in but not wrong for Mrs. Harwell to contest hers?
I'm not sure Mrs. Harwell is contesting, just from what some say on this blog.

When Gore ran against Bush and so many said the elction was crooked, I said, "I have worked in the election in Giles County, there is no way you can cheat at the poles."
Florida don't use the machines like Giles County does. For the one thinking the machines can be tampered with you are wrong.

The number on the machine is checked and wrote down with everyone watching before the poles open and wrote down. Same thing at end of election.

If someone lies about their address when they register, how is the election people to know it.
One thing for sure you want vote at two different places IN Giles County.

Well Pat is in and proven himself already. He had a week to do his homework and be prepared to take over when Speer walked out. But instead he had to be told and then retold how to do the job. I believe I would have been looking into how to carry on a meeting and what was entailed to do so in a week. Is he going to continue to be slouchy in his being Mayor. And why in the world would Mr. Charles Jenkins be Vice Mayor. He has the personality of a wall. He is one of the most errogant people I have ever met. He will really get the big head now. Of course he was one of the four names carried in to voting by the Martin students. No for a fact many went in with a sheet of paper telling them to vote for four: Ford, Mayor
Alderman: Jenkins, Miles and Hatfield. Ashame the laws can't be changed to where all the Martin students that aren't Giles County license carrying students can vote here. That goes for staff as well. Would love to see Jack Gregory's license.

6:07. Actually, you are confusing your grapes:

"sour grapes". Are bitter to the taste, serve no purpose and are destined to the raisin bin.

For example: "groups conspired to target me for defeat". Allen Barrett, Promoter of Strife. This statement would universally be recognized as "sour" grapes.

Conversely, "sweet grapes" incorporate all the good qualities of their environment, are cultivated with much work, care and attention. They are very pleasing in both sight and taste.

For example:
COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 7
Terry W. Harwell - 477
T.A. (Tommy) Campbell – 448
Vicki Coleman – 423
(WAB) William Allen Barrett – 254

Now, those grapes are vastly superior, sweet in their taste and evidently are preferred by 2 out of 3 taste-testers.
(WAB) William Allen Barrett – 254

Why would he knock on the door of his competitor? HA HA HA!
And saying that the "GAY" vote at Martin put him over, is like saying better than half the student body is "GAY".
You're such a bitter and small minded woman. So sad.
All I can say is, Praise "Aqua BUDDA" for BOB HUGHS exspose' on you 2 weeks before the election.
"I got me a permit Bob"!

1:57 How many people running for election this year including the August one knocked at your door.

For mine NOT ANY.

So strange, Barrett isn't allowed to complain about the election, but look at the complaints about Ford winning.

God Bless Mr. Ford.

He always complains. Hasn't he cost the county enough money with it? Where have you been?

What would I do? I don't know; what would you do?
Yes, I voted for Mr. Ford. Are you happy with that?

9:15 Are you the one called enabler and did you really vote for Ford?

Maybe you're not as bad as I thought.

There is no enabler. That was a lie started by a man who ought to know better.

8:51 Did you post 9:15. If not why did you respond to 8:04? I thought he/she paid you a compliment.

Yes, I posted both of those you asked about. If I was harsh toward 8:04 then I apologize. I just resent being referred to as one who enables wrong and evil. Can you see where name-calling causes trouble? And I realize 8:04 did not actually call me that name. My bad. I was always taught to apologize when found wrong. I did.

4:11 Maybe you need to control your temper.

I always tried to tell my children, "don't let them see they made you mad, that will make them come after you more."

Would it bother you if someone accused you of enabling wrongdoings and EVIL?
I always told my children to stand firm when you know you are in the right.
