Lincoln Davis Conservative....... Not By His Record

Three things about Lincoln Davis everyone needs to know before early voting begins.

Rep. Lincoln Davis lately claims himself to be an “independent conservative.”

The truth is Lincoln Davis is a loyal supporter of Nancy Pelosi’s radical liberal agenda voting with her 94.9% of the time according to the Washington Post Voting Database.

Rep. Lincoln Davis n a recent ad states, “Now we must reduce the debt and support small businesses that create jobs...”

The truth is Rep. Davis’ consistent support for the Obama-Pelosi agenda, including a vote for the Obama Budget that increases the debt and raises taxes on small business, demonstrates the level of hypocrisy his campaign has reached. He has along with pelosi and obama increased the National Debt, increased the deficit and raised taxes on small business owners along with creating more and more expensive paperwork requirements.

Rep Lincoln Davis says “we must stop bad trade deals that cost us jobs.”

The truth is with his support of the Obama Stimulus, Rep. Davis has already done more than his fair share of destroying the job market here in America. That law has failed in every measure to grow the economy and has actually shipped jobs overseas.

When you vote remember that a vote for Lincoln Davis is a vote for the obama and pelosi agenda.

Most of the money, other than what he has given himself, is contributed to Rep. Davis from trial lawyers and unions. That alone should raise many red flags. The fact that he has voted in lock step with Pelosi over 94% of the time should be enough to make anyone cringe at the idea of voting for him. The fact that he voted to put the heavy boozing Pelosi, she spent over $100,000.00 of taxpayer money on alcohol for her plane trips last year, in the Speakers Seat and third in line of progression to the presidency should make everyone question his sanity and run to the opposition party.

You've got to be kidding me. Did you read where Lincoln Davis' opponent held a gun in his mouth for hours to intimidate his wife.

Is that the kind of candidate you support? Not me pal.
____________
Chattanooga Times Free Press:
NASHVILLE — A Washington-based newspaper reported Thursday that the ex-wife of 4th Congressional District Republican candidate Scott DesJarlais accused him of harassment, intimidation and physical abuse during their divorce.

Roll Call, which covers Congress, said the accusations are contained in Marion County Chancery Court motions filed in 2000 and 2001 by Susan DesJarlais against her husband, a Jasper physician who is challenging U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis, D-Tenn.

Roll Call reported that in one court motion, Susan DesJarlais sought to obtain sole possession of the couple’s home and claimed she was forced to leave the residence when her husband’s behavior “became violent and threatening.”

The publication said she accused DesJarlais of “dry firing a gun outside the Plaintiff’s locked bedroom door, admission of suicidal ideation, holding a gun in his mouth for three hours, an incident of physical intimidation at the hospital; and previous threatening behavior ... i.e. shoving, tripping, pushing down, etc.”

The term “dry firing” involves pulling the trigger on an unloaded gun.

To 12:20 the key element in this is that the "ex-wife accused him" in her effort to obtain sole possession of their house. Did you notice that there was no witness collaborations?
Ask yourself is it even physically possible for someone to hold a gun in their mouth for three hours? Was he ever charged with anything, no. Was there ever anything, doctor reports, hospitalizations, police reports anything other than her word that these things happened, no.
This is not the first time an angry divorced spouse made accusations nor is it the first time a desperate politician has used a last ditch effort to discredit their opponent.

I am so sick of how yellow dog democrats respond to anything from the other side of the aisle. I'm assuming most of the people on this blog are "southern democrats." I was born and raised in Giles County and my ancestors are democrats as well. But what I can NEVER understand is how yellow dogs continue to vote for the liberal, country destroying policies of Obama, Pelosi and Reed. And a vote for Lincoln Davis IS a vote for their agenda.

Don't any of you have children and/or grandchildren that you want to see inherit a country that is better than the one we have now? Can you not see what is happening right before your eyes? I know the liberal/ progressive movement has been steadily marching toward socialism and communism for years, but with Obama and his cronies, it is now moving at warp speed. This big government policies of confiscatory taxation, big spending programs, job killing regulations and wealth redistribution are going to crush our once great country. These policies are simply unsustainable. And I fear it has reached the point where only God above can help us turn the tide.

Can you yellow dogs seriously look around at the culture and think the liberal policies that have been implemented by the democrats have made this country a better place? Can you not see that the welfare state has done much to destroy the family? Young women having babies out of wedlock is pretty much the norm these days. No need to marry the "baby daddy" when you've got big daddy government to send you checks. And single mothers are the segment of our population which have the highest poverty rates in our country. If you don't believe me about how detrimental the welfare state has been to families, especially women and children, I dare you to read Star Parker's book, "Uncle Sam's Plantation."

Sex in general is no big deal to young women in today's culture. Whereas in the Bible, women are supposed to be loved by their husbands as Christ loved the church (if you recall, Christ DIED for his bride) today's women are "liberated" and have sex as indiscriminately as common prostitutes of yesteryear. If they get pregnant (and don't want to be saddled with a child and a check) abortion is a quick fix alternative. Can't you see how life has become more insignificant since abortion on demand became the law? Can't you see how devalued women have become since the liberal feminists policies have become ingrained in our society? And not just the lives of "fetuses" as feminists like to call them have been devalued, but how life has been devalued on the other end as well. Think euthanasia.

I could go on and on about how our culture is being destroyed by liberal, democrat policies, but I'm sure you get the jest of it. Yellow dogs and independents need to do some serious soul searching before they just mindlessly push the button for ANY democrat. It's no longer good enough to vote democrat because that's how your grandpappy voted or that's how your union says to vote. Seriously ask yourselves if you want your children and grandchildren to live in a socialist country, if you want them to be slaves of the state. It's time to put your country's future before your allegiance to your political party.

To 2:37 Perhaps you should do some research before speaking. If you had you might have seen the following endorsement.

___________
Chattanooga News Free Press
September 23, 2010

"As the state’s oldest and largest pro-life organization, Tennessee Right to Life is singularly committed to the protection of human life. Our members join together from every possible background to actively promote positive public education, protective legislation and benevolent outreach to women and families facing difficult or unexpected pregnancies. Many gains have been made in our pro-life state during recent years including historic advances in the passage of life-saving bills, both at the state and federal levels.

Key to moving these protective public policies forward has been the election and work of sincere pro-life advocates, women and men who sacrifice and stand firm in the face of pro-abortion opposition to move the pro-life agenda forward in meaningful and measurable ways.

One such public servant is Congressman Lincoln Davis, a pro-life leader who has consistently earned the endorsement of Tennessee Right to Life since his earliest days in the Tennessee House and Senate. In Congress, Davis has continued to proudly carry the pro-life banner and has demonstrated himself as one of our movement’s most stalwart and dependable friends.

Lincoln Davis has voted in full support of protecting minor children and parental rights through passage of the pro-life Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act and was a co-sponsor of the measure. In the same way, Lincoln Davis voted consistently to ban the gruesome practice of partial birth abortion. Most recently, Congressman Davis voted to protect Tennessee taxpayers from being forced to fund abortions through the federal healthcare plan.

Truth be told, there has never been an abortion-related vote in which Congressman Davis did not stand with Tennessee Right to Life and pro-life Tennesseans in defense of vulnerable unborn children. His leadership for the cause of life has earned him our trust, our endorsement and our pro-life votes. We urge every concerned pro-life voter in the 4th district to work and vote for the re-election of pro-life Lincoln Davis on November 2."

Brian Harris, President
Tennessee Right to Life

4:40 As far as Lincoln Davis and the Tennessee Right To Life, I am quite aware of this endorsement. I commend his commitment to unborn children, but it's not enough to make up for the fact that he has voted with Pelosi 95% of the time. However, Marion County's Sheriff says they have no record of Desjarlais ever being arrested or charged with any criminal activity.

The ad goes on to say, "Firing an unloaded gun outside her bedroom door, putting the gun in his own mouth for three hours."

Those claims aren't the whole story.
Dejarlais first wife claimed he did those things in a Chancery Court document filed in November 2000.

However, as Knoxville attorney Dennis Francis says, those allegations are just that, allegations. In this case, we were unable to find a ruling or any evidence there was ever an investigation into Desjarlais' former wife's claims.

Desjarlais' campaign says they're simply not true and that court documents back up their claims.

Currently we already have the right to hunt and fish in Tennessee. The problem is this is defined as a privilege and not as a right. By voting to have it in the state constitution as a right the objective of some, such as PETA, ELF, and other crazies will have a much harder time prohibiting those activities in the future. This is also thought to be an added protection against the obama administration and others in their quest to take away or limit private firearm and ammunition ownership.

1) He supports spending over a hundred million dollars of taxpayer money on a failed program. This is a program the governor's own personally appointed board reported provided no benefits that could possibly justify the expense.
2) He voted to fund the twenty million dollar hole at the governors mansion, and the five million dollar renovation on the governor's mansion that is not occupied by the governor and was valued at less than half a million dollars.
3) He voted for Jimmy Naifeh as Speaker of the House who was married to Betty Anderson the most powerful lobbyist in Tennessee then accepted that there was no conflict of interest because "Jimmy said there wasn't". Jimmy Naifah is the closest thing there is to Nancy Pelosi in Tennessee and if the democrats regain a majority in the house he will be right back as speaker after manipulating the election of Kent Williams his RINO puppet.

But there's only one tiny problem with your position on aborting in the event of a rape. There's still a child involved, and we just can't murder for the sake of convenience. You know, it rains on the just and the unjust, and I do not believe we have the right to play God when there's an innocent life at stake. I once heard a preacher say almost the same thing you did (situation ethics), and I never went back to that church again.

I feel the same way of 4:33. A 13 year old child couldn't take care of a baby, so two lives are going to be ruined, the 13 year old and the baby if it has problems by it's father being a druggie.

What would you think if your wife had a health problem that would kill her if she was pregnant and trying to carry to term. You want her to try to have it and die, leaving you with an infant to raise when you have to try to work and support your other children.

I'm just saying there are times an abortion is need.

It's all George Bush's fault.

George Bush, who doesn't have a vote in congress and who no longer occupies the White House, is to blame for it all.

He broke Obama's promise to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.

He broke Obama's promise to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C- SPAN .

He broke Obama's promise to end earmarks.

He broke Obama's promise to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.

He broke Obama's promise to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.

He broke Obama's promise to make peace with direct, no precondition talks with America 's most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.

8:21 That's right everything is Barrett's fault.
Barrett kept Mrs. Vanzant from getting the Piolet papers send in on time.

Barrett was the reason the distant for the beer board mess up.

I believe barrett was also largely responsible for Mrs. Vanzant getting re-elected. Thanks, wab.

Actually, it is all George Bush's fault. From 2001 to 2007 he had a republican senate and house. Yet he inherited a balanced budget (surplus no less) and ended with the largest deficit in history. The budget he proposed was the farthest from balanced in our nation's history.

He doubled the national debt. His lack of regulation of his friends on Wall Street brought this nation to its knees. His tax breaks to companies moving jobs oversees is the reason small towns (and large ones too) do not make anything anymore. Our industrial base is decimated.

God forbid we are ever called upon to re-tool for a war on the scale of WW II. What factories do we have left to re-tool?

John,
No, it is none other than barrack obama who is going to bankrupt this country. I think you and I both know that, so it's pointless to debate that point with you.
You mentioned something about re-tooling for a war? Who was it who "loathed" the military? Who has continuually sought to scrap large portions of our military? Answers: William Jefferson Clinton and the Dems. I keep asking myself what Ronald Wilson Reagan would do about that.

Vote for Lincoln Davis, we need to keep Obama, Nancy and Harry doing the damage to us.
I hear the next thing they plan is no tax break on interest you pay on your homes or farms.

Think of your children and grandchildren trying to buy a home and can't get the interest off their income tax.

The next big thing coming from the obama if he retains a majority is a cap and trade tax, which will increase the amount of tax you pay on everthing you used that requires any energy source. Davis voted 94% of the time with Pelosi and that ain't no conservarive

Funny math. Davis has voted 1554 times in this Congress. Pelosi has voted only 98 times.

How's that percentage thingy working for you?

Well funny math, Davis voted 94% of the time with her 98 votes... and when she voted, she voted for the most important issues... that means except for Health Care he voted the liberal way. A vote for Davis is a vote to keep Pelosi in power.

4:12 congratulation of the revelation of dumbness. As with most democrats they can't do math that's why we're 3 trillion dollars in debt.

7:50 If you can get 94% from those numbers, then I am eternally grateful that you do not teach children math.

3:40 Dear old Nancy didn't vote every time Davis did. 10:12 said Davis voted 94 % of the time with Nancy. So if he voted 94% of the time with Peolsi
then 4:12 said Pelosi only voted 98 times. So why couldn't Davis have voted 94% of the time with Nancy.

I'm sorry if someone hurt your feelings, good Democrate.

What is more relevant is that Davis voted with Boehner 86% if you count the 1554 votes both made.

I like someone who is at neither extreme.

Lincoln Davis sure thinks a lot of himself.
Thanks to Davis' big attack he made people see the Doctors name more.

I think they were voting against Obama and sweet little Nancy more than Davis.

DesJarlais Committee Assignments Announced
Posted on December 21, 2010

Congressman-elect Scott DesJarlais announced his Committee assignments for the 112th Congress last week. Congressman-elect DesJarlais will serve on the Committee on Agriculture, Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and the Committee on Education and Labor.

“I ran my campaign on the principles of hard work, common sense leadership, and conservative values. These committee assignments will provide me the opportunity to represent the interests of Tennessee’s 4th district on issues that are critical to our region’s economic well being in a manner that is consistent with these principles. In the 112th Congress, I look forward to working with my colleagues on these committees to develop solutions to the unique challenges our region faces,” said DesJarlais. “I will work to ensure that we keep taxes low, provide good paying jobs for Americans, and keep intrusive government regulation out of our lives.”

DesJarlais represents Giles County in the Fourth Congressional District.
