Welcome Home!

After two weeks of relaxing and enjoying the warmth and beauty of Sanibel Island, Fla. it was a shock to come home to the cool, very cool of Pulaski. It's always good to come home. Even the fresh brisk air of fall feels good when you're home.

There goes that idea. Mr. Barrett is not satan. Satan never goes on vacation. Welcome home, I hope you enjoyed your getaway.

This is so patently ridiculous. You ignorant morons cannot even let this be a positive thread. Mr. Barrett just said it was good to be home, and you blast him. Why don't you just shut up and go away. Your stupidity is what causes such contention on the blog. I don't agree with Mr. barrett on all he says. I wish he would understand that just because you "can" say a thing, doesn't meed you "should" say a thing. But you idiots have taken this to a whole new level. Just close your mouths and be thought a fool. You have already opened your mouth and we have no doubt.

I'm glad Barrett is back. We need him in this county. He has made a big difference in how the Commission works and he provides a greater depth of thinking than what most people are used to. Without him we would be talking about the big tax increases we had the past three years instead of the ones coming up.
Glad you'er back, keep up the good work. Sorry the election was stolen from you.

To 9:34 why is it that whenever more than one person disagrees with you claim it's the same person. I wrote one of those statements but not the others. I'm sure based on your record of being wrong that there are many, many in Giles County who disagree with you.

Interesting tidbit from visitflorida.com:

Sanibel Island: The ONLY authentic Vegas-Style CASINO Experience in South Florida!

Heck, who needs Tunica.

I live in Huntsville and spend three months on Sanibel Island each year. I do not know the Barrett's but read this blog often.
There is no type casino on Sanibel or her sister island Captiva.
Sanibel can only be reached by boat, helicopter or over the toll bridge.
Sanibel has a very large wildlife sanctuary, Ding Darling, and the best shelling beaches in the country. It is often featured on TV travel shows because of it's shelling, beaches and relaxed atmosphere. There isn't even a McDonalds on either island.
I don't know where 9:12 got their information but it is completely wrong. www.sanibel-captiva.org or
www.sanibelisland.com will give you a complete look at the beautiful islands and all that they have to offer someone who wants to just get away and relax.

To 9:12 Once again you tell a big fat lie.
If I wanted to go to a casino my first choice would be Las Vegas then any other place I might choose to go. If I want to spend all my money on craps, slots or poker it is my business until I ask you to pay my bills.
Now just to make your lie more clear to everyone I'll give $500.00 to you or your favorite charity, if you have one, if you can give an address, or geographical location of any size casino on Sanibel Island, Florida.
The 8:21 poster described the place just about perfectly. A beautiful place where there are more boats and bicycles than cars and trucks.
More quality restaurants than fast food places and more glorious sun rises and sun sets than stupid hypocritical people trying to condemn others through lies.

I just read your post and the thought occurrred to me that allen barrett alone could stop all this conflict and troublemaking by simply asking his loyal few followers to do so. It's just that simple, but it's not going to happen.
