Giles Free Speech Zone

The purpose of the "Giles Free Speech Zone" is to identify problems of concern to the people of Giles County, to discuss them in a gentlemanly and civil manner, while referring to the facts and giving evidence to back up whatever claims are made, making logical arguments that avoid any use of fallacy, and, hopefully, to come together in agreement, and find a positive solution to the problem at hand. Congratulations To All Participants In The Election.

As with all things there are cause for celebrations, concerns and disappointments.

I congratulate all those who won their race and those who braved the thoughts of rejection to at least try. Winners are not always the ones with the most votes nor or losers always the ones with the least number of votes. The real winners are those who tried and gave their all, faced their competition with dignity and openness. I celebrate with you and look forward to working with you in the coming months to create a more open and productive County.

So you decided to post a professional consolation after your rant. It's a day late and a dollar short.

I would like to say Congratulations to Daryl Williamson for winning the District 1 School Board seat. I hope you are guided by God's wisdom in the decisions you make. Ms Hargrove, you ran a good campaign. I'm sorry that only one person could win. Daryl, good luck over the next 4 years.

Thank you for serving District 1 well. That is what a good concession speech should sound like.

3:41, you should probably brush up on your vocabulary dumbass. I'm pretty sure consolation wasn't the word you were looking for.

There's always someone that has to act like an English teacher as well as knowing what someone else wants to say. Then having to add name calling as if they are perfect.

Actually, consolation is the word I was looking for, and the one that I intended to use.

I'm not trying to be an English professor, but do you even know the difference between "consolation" and "concession?" Mr. Barrett would not be offering any "consolations" to whoever won. He would, however, concede to their victory. No harm intended, I just didn't want you to get out in public and make a faux pas. I would never have mentioned it in the first had your 3:41 post been a bit more civil.

Well now that you've found it 9:46, you should probably look for the correct place to use it.

Actually, if you read the post, in addition to conceding, WAB is CONSOLING those who ran that did not win.

Enough said. Now get a life!

12:10 shouldn't that be whomever instead of who ever, not trying to be an English professor just thought your criticisms are a little hypocritical.

Congratulations to all canidates. Win or loose, you tried and that is more important than the ones setting on the side line fussing.

Yes 8:20, it should probably be "whomever." You should probably not use a contraction and you should put "I am" in front of "not." You should also use a question mark instead of a comma. Everybody uses less than perfect grammar on a blog. I'm sure every comment could be picked apart and found to have errors. Does that make everyone feel more intelligent? It probably would not have been mentioned if 3:41 hadn't been a smart ass in him comment. Can we move along now?

I don't think that 3:41 was a smart ass. The smart ass is WAB. Did you not see his off the chart rant before he dicided to tone it down.

Your glasses need cleaning!

Will cg ever change his rant against WAB? He got Terry Harwell beat in the election by his constant rant which caused others to remind people of the chili cook off. So sad, Terry just lost it because he thought someone was bothering his wife.
But cg must of wanted everyone to remember it.

Cg posted once before he tried to stay off the blog and someone asked if he had seen what was being said. I think a lot of people baited him to come back and he swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

So somebody knows who he is and some will bait him to come back on whinning.

1:35, "off the chart" should be hyphenated. You're welcome.
