Schools Good or Bad?

In an effort to keep the thread congratulating Mr. Wallace and the State Champion Football team focused of the subject of their accomplishments this thread is offered.
Please use this thread to post any positive or negative comments specifically about individual schools or the system as a whole. Thanks Allen Barrett

to continue from the other thread.........actually, a teacher is the one that told me about the 6 fights, although im betting she meant 6 people, so prolly 3 fights. Swat team....yep....while it aint CSI, pulaski's squad had to go in there earlier this yr, bulletproof vests and all. Look, i dont know anyone that doesnt see MAJOR problems with GCHS. Maybe its the superintendant...maybe its the principal...i know that when i attended, there were problems(as with any school) but NOTHING like they have today. The majority of folks i know (whose kids attend or will be attending later) would put their kids at Richland in a heartbeat, only problem is that they have to live there. Its not about my kid living in utopia, or just wanting to trash the school. Giles County is my home and i would love to have that school cleaned up. How?? I dont know, but i do know one thing: You definitely wont see that happen if you cant even acknowledge that a problem exists.

The problem will only get worse until the discipline gets stronger. Presently there are no consequences for certain people regardless of how they behave. Teachers refuse to even go into some of the bathrooms. The hope was that with a new principal things would change but they haven't they may have even gotten worse.
The Director's only concern is that things look good. Until a serious effort is made to get both students and parents attention there will be no real reason to think things will get better. As for the SWAT team, I don't know if it was an official designated SWAT team or not but they sure got everyones attention.
Oh how do I know about this school I'm there everyday from 7:45 to 2:30.

Yes send your kids to murder central..Richland High..tell us again how many killers have attended GCHS?? Even the junior high kids pack loaded pistols there. Could some of these kids at GCHS be better disciplined surely; maybe the New Patriots could start patrolling the RHS and GCHS campuses..

Bo Wallace is not in the GCHS district. He should be attending Richland. He chose GCHS. For the poster in the other subject, there is no Highland Baptist School any longer, they only have day care. It has been several years since they had grade school. I would say the economy took care of that. Both high schools in Giles County need strong principals and neither has them. Neither of these schools is the same that it was years ago but then the world is not the same either. I am sure we all remember the days when we drove to school in our pick ups with a gun rack in the back window along with the guns in the racks with no problem.

You are absolutely right about this very negative thread. I think the blogmaster either lacks the foresight to imagine the outcome or he deliberately likes to stir up contention and controversy. It is my opinion that the latter is probably true. However, I don't know that for a fact. I just wanted to throw that in before some cheerleader accused me of trying to read someone's mind or to be judging.

I dont know how many, but i do know at least one murderer that attended GCHS, b/c he was in my class. Granted, i believe it happened a yr or so after graduating, but he still went there. Not a whole lot goes on at RHS, but when it does, it makes MAJOR news. GCHS has lots more happen, just not on as large a scale....so pick your poison. The schools play a large part in it, but (sadly) it is also indicative of todays society.

Every one sits back and blames the principle, teachers, school board, and laws like No Child Left Behind. While there may be many areas that can stand improvement in this group nobody has mentioned the real cause of concern and problems in the school system.

Its the parents or parent. No responsibility. No involvement. No discipline. No direction. No goal setting. No examples. Its always everybody else's fault. When a child is sent to school with no parental guidance or expectations other than the belief of its someones else's job to teach and control my child then you cannot blame the teachers for the problems.

Some solutions imho.
Every time, and I mean every time a child is sent to the office for disrupting a class, failing to turn in homework, or any failure to adhere to school rules the parents should be summoned to be there. If they refuse to come let the law go and get them. Lets see how they like their time constantly disrupted.
- Make parent-teacher meetings mandatory. You will be there. Period.
* The next ideas would involve people standing up to the government and changing laws..
Eliminate tenure. (This is nuts. Work for a set number of years and you can never be replaced regardless of you performance. Nuts. Absolute nuts.)
Stop teaching a test and go back to letting teachers be creative teachers who have a passion for sharing their knowledge with their students.
Remove habitual classroom disruptor's from the class. For good. Federal and state quota laws should exempt students who refuse to follow the rules from counting against graduation rates.
Fine or charge parents of students who fail to follow the rules.
Create a separate curriculum for students with learning disabilities. They should be provided the absolute best in teaching and enrichment but not be placed in a biology class where they have no chance of succeeding. Interaction in the normal everyday environment is essential but by the nature of the situation separate classes are needed.
Video & record all meeting held with students, parents, and administrative personnel to ensure accusations are handled fairly and just.

I am no way involved in the school system as a teacher or administrator. Just Joe Taxpayer & a parent. All of this filters down to a simple follow the rules or go away. Also, the comments about the drugs. I'll let you in on a secret you seemingly don't know. Next door neighbor, school, church, friend, foe, co-worker, and the person in the car at the red light sitting beside you. Drugs are present everywhere. We have great people involved at both high schools and with just a little common sense both schools could be better. But, it starts at home. The root cause. Quit passing the buck!

Please go back and read my post again. I SAID "before anyone could accuse me of trying to read someone's mind or to be judging", and you missed the point. My obsession with barrett is a false charge. But I would agree with you that I watch what he does closely and blow the whistle when necessary. I thought you guys liked whistle blowers? Or does that only apply when you point the fingers and accuse others of things. And then you have the nerve to call me a hypocrite. What a laugh.
While wab framed the topic around both positive and negative, it is my OPINION that he either lacks the foresight to imagine the outcomes of this thread or he deliberately likes to stir up contention and controversy. I believe the latter is true.

GCHS has alot more happening, where's your proof? I digress since RHS has been open I count 6 murders from active students, not from former students, yes GCHS has some wacky problem kids, very disruptive and I believe lost causes. But wacky beats killers in my opinion hands down. The problem here is there has and will always be a disdain for all things Pulaski.I remember the consolidation fight when communities lost their schools. Even though students had more opportunities in larger schools. The idea of having to send your kids to a school with town kids was horrible in some folks estimation. I'm sure there was a 'darker' component to it tho'...

in reading part of this thread it is good that it's offered to keep the problems with the school separate from the "football" issure~they deserve their credit for an accomplishment by any standards~ however~if you want to start at school I can give you volumes~lets start with the unaccountablility, and the lies that are a regular part of the school system. It's always a hand off with them and them they (meaning officials) want to hand it off as a "home" problem. Such is the case in many situations I realize (unfortunately) ~parents want no dicipline and won't allow the school to do so ither(they shouldn't have to I agree) but now that they can't control the kids~when we point out inconsistancies....they look at you blankly and want to pin it on home. Not my home, we are one of the homes that is very involved with our child and what goes on at school, but our suggestions have been met with opposition, lies and unaccountablitly. I'm waiting for a few heads to roll on the hill up there~then maybe we'll get somewhere.

I know the majority of teachers not only throughout the county, but especially at GCHS. I get filled in frequently on 'all that is going on there'. Most all the teachers will admit there is a problem, and most have told me its a discipline problem. True, it ultimately stems from the parents lack of teaching their kids proper respect and upbringing, but you also have to have a strong leader at any school. That has been lacking at GCHS for a very long time. When i was there, we had Joe Hardin, and i can tell you that he didnt tolerate any BS. You may or may not like the man, but he ran a tight ship. The students there (today) arent in any shape, form, or fashion scared of any consequences, much less any of the teachers. They really need to bring in someone new that is NOT FROM THIS AREA, who has no personal obligations, or any reason to kiss anyone's butt around here..someone that doesnt care what everyone thinks...but will get the job done.

However, when she goes to high school, I am worried about what she will run into. I have heard horror stories about both schools, and I am scared to death. I know there are great teachers and students at both schools, but I have also heard of the bad things that happen.

Tuesday, December 15, 2009 12:36:00 PM

You made the best point. There is such a lack of responsibility and accountability in society today. How many parents send their children to school and expect the teachers to keep them in line, but then prevent the teachers from disciplining their children. It is not only Parents and teachers though, it is society as a whole. When someone can turn you in for child abuse because you took away your child's TV privileges, or DCS can take your child, because you "heaven forbid, spanked" your child in public, then the world has turned upside down. I know that there are bad things happening in this country, but I also know there is no accountability, and people do not take responsibility for their own actions. When parents do not teach these things to their children, then it spreads like a cancer, and you have the same problems in schools, the workplace, our military, and even our churches. There is a problem, and we as parents and voters need to get control of our homes, schools, cities, counties, states and our country back. we need to stand up and admit that we screwed up and let people tell us what we can and cannot do, and then fix the problem. But ultimately, it starts at home.

I would suggest a topic that deals with how the obama administration and the socialist democrats are trashing this country. One good place to start is at the very top in Washington. The very top of our government is openly buying votes, tossing our money around like candy, wheeling and dealing like two bit crooks robbing a church with congress & the courts up to their eyeballs helping ram rotten legislation down our throats.

We're on a fast track to oblivion, as never before in this country. They sold the infrastructure we need to prosper and protect this once great country. It didn't just happen! Obama is just the clean up man, in there to hose down floors & make sure there is no trace of what we were & or what we had before this blood bath.

It must start with ethics & truth, followed by genuine commitment to rebuild, restore, and live with purpose. But how do we do it, when we don't have the giddy up go to clean our own mess up in our own little education department? It hasn't happened & may never make it.

Our schools can take a hit on how bad they are, but every county has big problems. Our county has two high schools. But the focus is on one. GCHS! But, The education coming from that school is a good education due to good teachers. The students have great ACT scores and can just about go to any college they choose. On the other hand, did you know that Richland has a student that made a PERFECT SCORE on his ACT. So where did he get his smarts from. I've met his parents and I would have to say they are good parents that enforce good study ethics on their son, and send him to teachers that are excited to have a student that is enthusiastic about learning.

Teachers get the child at age 5 to start to really teach them, but what about the parents starting at birth and teaching their child.

When my first child was born I was talking away to her. The woman, in the room with me, opened the curtain and asked me who I was talking to. I told her I was talking to my daughter(I was using my daughter's name). She said I have had three and I never thought about talking to them when they were born. How dum!!!

I have three children that have scored high on their ACT's, made the honor role each time and graduated with honors and college credits as well. Where did it start with me and their Dad. They were read to at birth until they could read on their own. One still likes to read to me and she is grown. When we would go out instead of trying to keep them quiet by shooshing non stop we played games with things on the table or in the room. They looked for objects, letters, and we did math with sugar packs. So no matter where you are you can start intertaining you child with an education that will keep them focused and learning at a very early age. From day one they started hearing the ABC's and One little, tow little three little Indians. By the age of three they knew their abc's and could count to 10 along with so much more. So let the learning begin at an early age and the child will continue to starve for more knowledge and less mischief. And by the way my three weren't perfect, and they got spankings when needed. And the teachers always knew they could call me and get results. So parents get started early before it gets to late.

It always amazes me how we blame the gov't for everything, but will be the first to say the gov't should step in when we need them. Take away social security, WAC,medicare, etc,; who do you turn to? The problem with our country is the falling of families and family values. When I grew up, my mother and father were there to help steer me in the right direction. They may not have been the most educated, but they placed values on what was right and what was wrong.
Schools are asked to teach everything from the three R's to respect and manners. Respect and manners should be taught at home. When children don't respect themselves, they don't respect ANYONE else (teachers, authority nor parents). Believe it or not, the schools do as good as they can with what they can do. Hands are tied to the point that discipline is leaving because no one wants little "Johnny and Mary" made to behave in school with manners, respect or a need to learn.
Teachers are blamed for so many things. Teachers didn't have all the children they teach each day. Parents need to help the schools and teachers emphasize to the children the importance of a good education. Come on folks, put on the shoes of a teacher, go visit a classroom (without causing a scene), or ask a principal for a tour of his/her school. Don't be so quick to judge without all the information.

I agree some parents are not doing what they should with their children.
I also know some don't have the time to spend with their kids because it takes both parents working to make a living.

I think you have the right idea parents should go visit classrooms.
Be sure to let me know if the principal and teacher was agreeable with this.

Let's place the blame for God's being expelled from school specifically where it belongs. It lies with liberalism, and our country has been going down the toilet ever since.
It (liberlism) is a cancer on American society.

8:13
You are so right about the plight of teachers today. Many children are sent to school with no manners whatsoever and total disrespect and contempt for teachers. In many situations, teachers' hands are tied when it comes to controlling them, and they KNOW it.
And the moment of silence...what a joke that is to many many kids.
Until we get some politicians in government who are willing to stand up and take back our country from liberalism, I believe it's only going to get worse. But until we have an informed and intelligent electorate who will vote liberals out of office, it has no chance anyhow.
For the future, I wonder where we will get truly dedicated people who know how to teach and who are willing to tolerate the intolerable for low pay. Most veteran teachers I know talk mostly of getting out. They are trying to hang on til they can "serve their time" and retire. Isn't that a pity?

Most children have both parents work. That does not mean that time cannot be spent with our children. A good childcare also helps. Find a child care that teaches your child and does not just babysit. If you cannot be with your child then make sure they have a good substitute.

I would love to have God put back into the schools. The problem is that if God is allowed then so is all the other religions including Satan. I will teach my child about God at home, reach out to my child's friends who don't know him and pray for the teachers.

Congratulations to the child who made a perfect score on ACTs. He/she should be congratulated and recognized for their achievements.

Many families have both parents work out of necessity. Many also are single parent homes. However, some just wont make the tough (but responsible) decision to have one parent work, while the other raises the children. They must pay for their huge house, luxury cars, big screens, cell phones, etc. etc. Its a matter of priorities. Regardless if both parents work or not, if you cant (or wont) take the time to actually raise your kid(s), then you shouldnt be having them in the first place. Parenting is a full time job.

I agree, I have not worked since my children were born. I have stayed home to be with them. Could we have more than what we do now? Yes, but that would have meant I would have had to work, which in my opinion would have taken a need away from my children. I recently said something about going to work, and the response from my youngest, who is now in high school was no momma I would miss you when I came home.

Do we blame parents, children or school when a child misbehaves?

I remember years ago when I use to go to basketball games, the parents would set on the very top row. Their little 5, 6,7 and 8 year old's would climb over the people to get up to their parents, then back down.
A few minutes later here they go up and down again. There was only setting room, not room for them to be climbing over us.
Now those children are older and don't know they can't always have their way as they weren't taught better then so what do you expect out of them.

If a parent want teach their children how to behave it's up to the schools. I'm not saying all parents are that way, but a few were and I bet still are.

Was it just last year the principal at Minor Hill had to correct a child at a basket ball game and they wanted to take her to court.

Parents teach your child how to act at ball games and the principal want have to.

You can pretty much lay every bit of this problem at the feet of liberals. After all, it is they who got God kicked out of schools. It is they who started dragging people into court for making their kids behave. It is they who have made it possible for kids to sue their parents. It is they who have been behind such things as the promotion of pro-gay agendas, the trashy rap music our kids listen to, and on and on and on.
What can we do about it? Vote every stinking democrat out of office and repeal/reform laws in order to take back our country. Start making people accountable and respect the law. Instead of teaching homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle and evolution as a competing theory, why not go back to teaching patriotism and allowing God to re-enroll in school?
This is just one of many reasons why I am astonished that anyone with even average mentality could vote for a democrat.

OK, anyone qualified to hold office in Giles County would be better than some of those who now hold office. A Chimp could do better than Vanzant but of course doesn't meet all the qualifications. A Chimp would certainly be more trustworthy. Anyone who doesn't spend half the day drinking coffee and taking cigarette breaks could accomplish more in a week than McGill does in a year and you wouldn't even have to listen to his constant whining about being so overworked. You know, some individuals are resentful and unhapppy, and they have an ability to stir people to hatred if we fall for it. I think that's what has happened to you. You need to start thinking for yourself and let those who hate and resent go their own way.

I'm not angry just fed up with having other people control my life and take my money.
If the problem is that I'm angry, resentful and unhappy because I see some incompetence and plain wrong behavior in the actions of some elected and appointed officials then by your illogical thinking it would be better for me to not vote or get involved in the election process and just leave the crooks and bums to do as they please.
Ignore evil and it will go away is the immature thinking of an utter fool.
With that kind of thinking, or lack of, it certainly tells a lot about why you refuse to list anyone you would have replaced.

So let me get this straight, if we think for ourselves, and agree with someone that you don't, then we have some mental problem. However, if we don't think for ourselves and agree with you then we are OK? Right? How about we try it this way, I think for myself, agree with who or what "I" want to, disagree with who or what "I" want to, walk my own path and tell those who want to diagnose me or label me to go to #%$@. You are such an idiot. I don't use that word lightly. If someone is ticked off, that doesn't mean they hate, and if they disagree with you they are not mentally diseased or defective. How dare you make assumptions like that. Just because someone gets angry at someone or something, doesn't mean they hate. I wish you would quit trying to drag people to your pitiful level. I get angry because I can't belive how ignorant you are, but I don't hate you, I don't even know you. I just think you are a poor pathetic sycophant who is trying to curry favor with the powers that be, and are to simple to understand how apathetic they are to what you are doing for them. Which really is nothing. You believe we all have the fishing disease or tuna syndrome but you have a very rare condition, cranial rectitis. Also known as a cranial rectal insertion. You and I do not share the same view as to what constitutes one's being worthy of respect. No, wab gets none of mine, and I don't know how to make that any clearer. In my opinion, anyone worthy of respect prefers others over himself, is not haughty and high-minded, and is willing to admit that he or she is mistaken from time to time. Let's just say I dislike an "I'm always right and never wrong" attitude in anybody. I don't see arrogance and egotism as very respectable traits. Do you?
Since when did you become the judge who would accuse me of thinking myself on a loftier plane than God? You can't be serious.

To 5:18 I am not overly concerned with whether you respect me or not. Of course like most everyone else I would prefer to be liked instead of disliked but sometimes being liked comes at too great a price. You express an opinion and present it as a fact and that is where your arrogance lies. I express an opinion or ask a question and you try to turn that into me presenting it as a fact thus you not only show your arrogance in your own opinion but also in mine by claiming to know what motivates me to say and do as I do. You have no basis for such an opinion.
You are simply wrong in your assessment of me that is plain and simple to anyone who knows me. You don't know me, my background motivation or anything else that is fact.
You misjudge confidence with arrogance but refuse to see it in yourself. You state, anyone worthy of respect prefers others over himself, is not haughty and high-minded, and is willing to admit that he or she is mistaken from time to time" based on that statement it is clear you have no respect for yourself.
You claim that to gain your respect one must "prefer others over himself", while I believe that a person must make sacrifices for others I know of no living person who realistically prefers others over himself" including you as this would mean you give everything you have to those who have less, no exceptions. I have made many mistakes and have apologized for them when I realized it, your problem is that you consider everything I do to be a mistake and can not supply any evidence to support most of your charges.
You claim that I am "haughty" this basically means "blatantly and disdainfully proud". I certainly have pride in my abilities, accomplishments and life I do not feel it is in any way "disdainful" as I see no one as unworthy or inferior. As for being "highminded" I certainly hope so as I have always tried to have elevated principles and feelings".
If you would replace your over sensitivity to "your feelings" with some respect and involvement with the reality of facts you would be amazed at the difference it would make in your life. Rose colored glasses only lead to denial and enabling of wrongs. Allen Barrett

Those not a part of my pack being arrogant and high-minded? That is exactly the problem I have with those like you who seem to think you have all the answers. And how frustrating that must be to have all the answers and we don't ask the questions. What a laugh. Thank God, you remain politically impotent. My prayer for Giles County is that it never change. 629 You're a participant - thus, enabler is irrelevant. If you had an intelligent question, you might be more receptive to an intelligent answer. You love everybody except your nemisis WAB, but that is only because your envy can't be controlled. The underlying problem is the fact that you can see the great things WAB does with such little effort. Unfortunately, it's only after the fact that you discover WAB exposed something - the crook is already discovered & it's too late for you to point that out. Maybe it's because you discover you're the crook & it wouldn't be smart to report yourself.

It's like wanting to be superman, but you can't fly, can't even see through glass, & no one looks up to you because you're a shrimp. A stool might help - you could jump up on it & maybe be able to look someone in the eye when you are why-ning at them. (???)

Maybe, if you could get over the fact that you don't measure up, you might give WAB a call & he'd let you follow him around for a few days - you might (no promise), but just might come up with an original idea & get your name in the paper for something other than running a red light.

If you will kindly answer the question the subject can be closed but thus far you have refused to even address the issue much less explain the difference in your name calling and someone else's name calling.
It seems since you got caught doing the same thing you claim is despicable in WAB's behavior all you want to do is close the subject that's very cowardly wouldn't you say?

There's a vast difference between describing one's behavior and calling him names. For example, I've never called anyone on this blog aan anal buffoon or a dumbo. Surely, you can make that distinction. Is that enough explaining for you? Probably not, and I'm sure you must have the last word.

I could be wrong but it sure sounds like a rather personal description of the individual and not their behavior when you say "I find the man quite despicable, rude and obnoxious".
Now exchange his words for yours so that you read, "I find the man to be an anal buffoon and a dumbo", then tell me what is the difference in what you claim WAB has done and what you have done when it comes to name calling?

Ok, let me try to explain this one more time. If I referred to wab as a despicable, rude, and obnoxious buffoon, I would be calling him a name(buffoon). But since I didn't call him a buffoon, I wasn't calling him a name.
Look at it this way. If I say an individual has honesty, integrity, and respectability, I am referring to his or her behavior and NOT calling names. Surely, you can see that, can't you?

Is a name not what identifies a person? Is there really a difference between he is despicable and he is a buffoon? If a person is said to be anal or said to be obnoxious is one less descriptive of behavior than the other?
If WAB calls someone a liar how is that different from you calling someone rude?
Anal is every bit as much an adjective as is despicable.
Isn't it about time you got your mind out of the gutter about being an anal buffoon and realize it only means "controlling clown". Personally I would rather be considered an anal buffoon than despicable.
The truth of the matter is you fell into your own trap and I exposed you but instead of just admitting the truth you just keep digging the hole deeper and that is what makes you Dumbo. Look, the one you so eagerly defend has called people anal buffoons and then excused himself by claiming he was merely describing their behavior. So when I describe his behavior as obnoxious and despicable, it's acceptable? You need not talk to me about being hypocritical.
Yes, anal would be an adjective describing buffoon just as despicable would be an adjective describing person (a noun). In other words, a despicable person. Surely you know the difference between an adjective and a noun.

Your delusion is that you think you are seeing things as they are but without any factual support it's merely a figment of your very limited imagination. When you begin to involve factual evidences with your conclusions then we can agree to disagree. You are a perfect reflection of Al Gore and his global warming mentality. Those people just never give up, and I think you are either one of them or at least a cheerleader and apologist for them. Which is it?
In closing, please allow me to clear up a few misunderstandings you seem to have about me. You say I'm a sad little person. Wrong. I'm very happy with my life, not that it's any of your business. I despise al gore and what liberals stand for. I fail to see the forest for the trees? Wrong, I see very clearly what a little group of know-it-alls are trying to do here. And I have enough nerve to question what they are doing, don't I? That's your problem with me, isn't it? Fear has frozen me? Wrong. After some of the things I've been through and survived, I no longer have sense enough to fear others.
I hope these comments help you, but you need to first help yourself. OK?

Once again 6:56 you miss the point. I stated, “When reality is based in the personal feelings of an individual that reality becomes tainted even perverted”. You see even the Bible speaks of our feelings as being deceivers, being the spiritual person you are you must have known that.
I am neither a cheerleader nor an apologist just a person who is able to separate personal feelings from factual evidence and understand the ramifications of ignoring problems.
If you are so happy with your life perhaps you might share with us why? What have you accomplished in your life, what principles have you held so strongly that you were willing to defend them in every arena. What has your life, that you are so happy with, ever stood for that did not involve self benefit? My reference to not seeing the forest because you don’t know what a tree is reflects your inability or unwillingness to see anything outside the very narrow confines of your personal feelings.
You clearly defined much of your problem when you stated, “I no longer have sense enough to fear others”. This is very much like the denial of obama when asked the question, “do you believe evil exist” and he couldn’t answer the question. You have no fear of evil because you have no concept of it and without an understanding of what evil is you can not will not ever be able to stand up to it.

Ironically, they think those like you who are always whining and finding fault are the ones who are stupid. But don't take my word for that. Go undercover and do some asking around town. You'll find that there are plenty of people who share my perception of reality and not yours.
Yes, as I've tried to explain to you, my personal feelings are directly caused by the stuff I read on this blog. The nasty and mean-spirited attacks and name-calling are the factual evidence. It's just that simple.

Did the Democrates have HLSS when they talked about the Republicn party buying clothes for Sarah Palin and family?
That money didn't come from the Democrates, so why care.
The money to send so many in Washington for the Global Warming came from tax payers. I'm not talking about Obama in that, I see his right to go.

Hey 8:39 I just figured it out you got the DC beltway syndrome. You know where you surround yourself with like mined people then determine that everyone all across the country must think like you also. If they don't think like you then there must be something wrong with them that only the government can help them with.
Government is the answer to every question and many that don't even exist.
You think the county government is wonderful because you have surrounded yourself with like minded people who think its wonderful therefore everyone else must think it is also wonderful or there must be something wrong with them. After all how could anyone disagree with you and everyone you know? What you need to do is expand your base of influence. Attend meetings listen objectively ask questions and research the answers.
I became a fan of WAB's after being put off by his style but then when I started listening and checking out things instead of just accepting them I very quickly found that I was being lied to over and over by some people in office that I had known a long time and had trusted.

Like I said, go undercover and find out some things for yourself. Most people around town know who is always complaining and pointing fingers. The funny thing about it all is that they think they have all the answers and nobody asks the questions.
No, I never said I think county government is wonderful. It is made up of imperfect people who, in my opinion, are doing the best they can in spite of what you guys keep accusing them of. If that's not the case, run your own horses next election and vote for them. In the mean time, why don't you stop all this name-calling and attempts to ruin the names of those you disagree with? Huh?

3:43 You have said you are satisfied with local government you have said that everytime you say you are going to vote for the same people who have helped put us in this mess.
You can't even understand that if our elected officials were listening to the people and responding to them there wouldn't be any criticism of them. When have you seen a community meeting held that was led by that district's commissioners. Some of the commissioners won't even answer their phones when a constituent calls, what kind of representation is that.
When will you admit that the problem isn't about disagreeing with someone it's about the plain outright wrong doing by some of those elected and appointed but that is a wasted question on you because you can't see wrong doing when you are in the midst of it.
Do you think a person that spent over a hundred thousand dollars on a non-existent ambulance should be criticized? Do you think a person who accepted a bid written on the back of an envelop without any competitive bidding should be criticized? Do you think an elected official who has doubled their staff in the middle of these financial difficulties should be criticized? Do you think people who voted themselves a huge pay increase then turned around and demands a tax increase to pay for it should be criticized. How about answering these questions so everyone can know just what the issue is with you.

Wrong! I NEVER said that I was totally satisfied with local government. I DID say that it is made up of imperfect people (unlike you) who are acting in what they think best for the people of this county. Just because they don't act in ways that YOU and a few others approve of doesn't make them unintelligent, corrupt, dishonest, and incompetent.

Would you care to name the individual who spent over a hundred grand on a non-existent ambulance? I'd really like to know. And if that be true, that person has a right to be criticised. I would agree with you that any of those whom you mentioned should be criticized if they be guilty. So don't go spewing that I would enable such wrong. OK?

My issue? Well, it's never been about the rightness or wrongness. Oh, I know you will jump all over that and call me apathetic or content with status quo. Wrong! It's always been about the way the malcontents treat those who point out the mean-spirited attacks and name-calling and those who would disagree with their opiniuons.

The non existent ambulance was paid for on the recommendation of Roy Griggs and Janet Vanzant. The check was made out by Loretta Garner after the budget committee under Bill Holt approved it. The money was recovered after several months of effort by Garner and her staff. I thought this was general knowledge and was surprised that someone as informed as you didn't know it.

I see you just can't resist the name-calling. Your attempt to impress your so-called smart friends is not working. Even if they are smarter than everyone else around here, I'm fairly certain that they don't think you are very bright.

Boy did the topic change from the illusionary ambulance fast or was that a full blown Shelby Cobra that zoomed by?
Looks like ole dumbo just can't handle it when people start exposing the truth and poking holes in his safe little world.

10:13 You are correct! When truth comes out someone gets there pants in a wad.

Oh dear me I've got HLSS. You can have that both ways. I think the people that don't want anyone to critized ithe people in the county government also has HLSS.
