It is too late for the current EDC, but better late than never. The next thing we should do is eliminate the position! This function can be performed by our elected officials. He has not been very successful!

7:15 Agree with you entirely. Speer will tell you it can be done but if you read the 1101 law you will find differently.

I would bet that the Economic Development Coordinator functions very little of one's time. I would love to have a time study done on what Dan Speer does for our community every day/week/month. He is royally ripping us off!

ABOLISH THE POSITION!

Seems to me that the only people posting their opinions are the one's that do not like Dan Speer. There were two other people that held the Economic Development position and no one ever seemed concerned about what they were doing or not doing. Mr. Speer has done more for the City of Pulaski in the short time that he has held this position than the other two in their combined years of service. For those who say Mr. Speer hasn't done anything for the City of Pulaski, what about Clarage Products/Twin City Fans, Tenneplas and Integrity Tennessee?
What about Bert-Co borrowing $3.3 million in revenue bonds to purchase machinery and equipment?? Looks like something is going on!!

Careful there, 3:04. The fault-finders will accuse you of being either ignorant and apathetic or an enabler of the evil that exists in Giles County.

Bert-Co has already been granted a bond issue through city of Pulaski. Now they want another bond issue. My understanding is that since the first bond issue they now have more machines than they do employees since many were laid off. Bond issues and no new jobs? I dont understand that one. Also dont understand with the current economy and the future of the packaging business (since everything is going electronic) how the business will be able to pay off these bonds.

3:04, It is not about like or dislike. I, personally have been accused of being a Dan Speer cronie. Nothing could be further from the truth! He had his chance. He had his time. He did not succeed. Now it is all about him. He pretends to be an advocate of democracy, but he only gives enough information to tell what he want to happen. It is time for him to move on......and it is time for the EDC to ABOLISH THE POSITION!

What about Speer telling Home Depot what they could pay their employees? What was that all about?

I cannot see Spear having a big say so in what a national company pays.

If a national company can get away with lower wages they will. Go to the web page for Economic Dev. in Giles Co. and notice (I believe its on the left side) where it says cheap labor costs!

It's just business as usual here. There's always the suggestion of something sinister and dishonest. I often wonder what happens in the lives of some of these people that made them so skeptical and distrustful (fearful) of those who differ from them.

The truth sometimes hurts, doesn't it? You remind me of a child who, when angered, resorts to such tactics as calling names.
Sorry to disappoint you, but, the Lord willing, I plan on being here for a long long time.
By the way, are you the riddler? Haven't seen any of your prose lately.

415 skeptial & distrustful? yes! might add willing to stop the crap & get rid of the rotton apples

fearful? of what? certainly not a looser like you! Also doing something about it & that makes you very fearful & suspicious of anyone with a brain?

Rotate your head the other way - lot's of good been done, by your nemisis WAB! A $7 million boondoggle gone & you're whining?? Nights on the town for low life high rollers - gone & you whine??

Get used to it, your days of whine & roses are disappeaing. Soon, like a terd in the pasture, you'll be gone & the grass will be greener because you are gone! No one will even remeber you were here. WAB, on the other hand, will be remembered as the man who clipped the grass & kicked your a--

Can you not understand plain English? My reference to fearful had to do with being paranoid and distrustful toward people who don't see things the way you do.
I totally disagree with your assessment of all the "good" that has been done by wab. Your definition of "good" does not fit mine, and I use the Hawthorne dictionary in case you might be wondering.
As for wab or anyone else kicking my rear (sic), that's not about to happen, my whining friend. You're just angry because I stand opposed to the arrogance and know-it-all attitude so rampant on this blog.
To repeat what I said earlier, I'm not planning on going anywhere, the Lord willing. Your threatening remarks are laughable if you think I scare.

I do not like WAB, but I do believe that we should eliminate the current position of Economic Develompent Coordinator. Someone just explain to me what this person does 8 hours a day 240 days a year?

ELIMINATE THE POSITION!

8:25 nobody is gonna kick you because you spout all your lies from under annoymous.
WAB has done more good for this county than you have ever dreamed of doing. WAB makes you mad because you just can't measure up to him in anything. Jealously is a terrible thing 8:25 but with a non productive insignificant life like yours what could you expect.

825 Dumb Oh you're a mess - eaten alive with grandyouare, but void of intelligent thought. What you need to do is get a tape recorder, follow WAB around, record what he says & play it back till you memorize what he says & does. Maybe MMC will get a WABology course started next spring!!! you could get smarter & eventually amount to something better than a fart in an echo chamber.

you think you're Pompus Pile It looking for a Christian to feed the zebras! Got your hands full of crap & don't know what it is or what to do with it? WAB is just too smart for you.

Yous suggestion about following your idol around with a tape recorder is hilarious. Surely, that was an intended joke. If not, then you are a joke! I about cracked a rib or two laughing at that one. If the one you admire is so smart, then why would he allow your vulgar language on this blog. Oh, it's in the name of free speech. I forgot. More importantly, why would he allow someone like you to speak for him? You make him look bad, particularly with your vulgar mouth.
