Sale of Hunter Smith Building?????

A proposal was presented to the Property Committee on Thursday to buy the Hunter Smith Building for a price of $125,000.00 and allow the county to remove any items that had been built or installed during renovations. This was the only inquiry about the building since being placed with a real estate agent in December.

The committee gave a counter offer and asked for $150,000.00 with a two week response time. Allen Barrett

Is this a legal way for the County to sell the building? I thought this type of action was required to go throught the bidding process.

It's better to cut the county's losses and sell this thing now!

One offer man get rid of that white elephant. Take the loss and put the thing on the tax roles so some tax can be collected on it. The thing has cost the county half a million already.

According to research expressed by the Property Management Committee it is legal to sale real estate without a bid. Getting a bid from the agent was accomplished. Allen Barrett
