Giles Free Speech Zone

The purpose of the "Giles Free Speech Zone" is to identify problems of concern to the people of Giles County, to discuss them in a gentlemanly and civil manner, while referring to the facts and giving evidence to back up whatever claims are made, making logical arguments that avoid any use of fallacy, and, hopefully, to come together in agreement, and find a positive solution to the problem at hand. Budget Committee 27 May 08

The Budget Committee decide by a four to three vote to set the budget, that will be presented to the full commission, at the same as last year's amended budget.
Those voting for the same amount was Commissioners Jackson, Beets, Woodard and Flacy.
Those voting against were Commissioners J. Harwell, Campbell and Holt.
Had this not passed it was stated that a property tax increase of at lease eight cents would have to be imposed. Allen Barrett
