Giles Free Speech Zone

The purpose of the "Giles Free Speech Zone" is to identify problems of concern to the people of Giles County, to discuss them in a gentlemanly and civil manner, while referring to the facts and giving evidence to back up whatever claims are made, making logical arguments that avoid any use of fallacy, and, hopefully, to come together in agreement, and find a positive solution to the problem at hand. Best of the Blog

Read something especially good on this blog, and want to make sure others see it? Repost it here!

Free Speech? Yes! Spamming? No!

A poster who goes by the name of "Heard it here first" has recently spammed this blog, by reposting at least four times, an anti-Vanzant piece originally written by "courthouse insider." This is not acceptable. So, I'm using my mighty power of the delete button, to clean up the mess.

However, this has gotten me to thinking. Many of this blog's topic threads are very long, and it is likely that a few really good postings get "lost" and go unread. So I'm going to allow people to repost, in a special thread, the posts that are written by others, which are of high quality, and which might not have gotten the attention they deserve. Look for "Best of the Blog," coming real soon. But please don't repost (or spam!) content in any other thread Thanks!

Before You "Vote the Ticket," Stop and Think

But here I am, about to criticize, without naming, some friends of mine that go way back, simply because I’m in disagreement with something they’ve written and circulated...

Yes, I’m talking about the "Vote the Ticket" flyer. I suspect a number of my critics assumed I had a hand in that operation -- I haven’t been attacked as "pro-Gordon" in several days -- but the truth is, I didn’t even know about it until a few days ago. Fortunately, a reader of this blog emailed me a scan, and I am now up to speed like everyone else in Giles County.
