Resignation of County Commissioners as Topic
During the past few days there has been much discussion among Giles County Citizens about a few select County Commissioners going against the will of the people. In the General Election of 2006, Giles County voters sent a loud and clear message by a 58 percent majority vote that they wanted the Financial Management Act of 1981. Current County Commissioners, Edwin Lovell (Leader) and followers, Tommy Campbell, Rose Brown and Jack Woodard decided that the overwhelming majority of citizens who voted for the Act in the General Election of 2006 simply did not understand what they were voting on and thus set about to alter the decision of that majority. On Feb. 5, 2008 citizens have sent another clear message not only did they know what they wanted but they were determined not to let money and influence bully them into changing their collective minds. The word on the street is that since these commissioners have so little regard for the people and their decisions these commissioners need to resign their seats on the County Commission .
