Pulaski Electric System Public Meeting
The public meeting to discuss the Pulaski Electric System was held last night at the City Hall? It started at 6:30PM and lasted until 10:00PM.
After much filibustering by the Electric System speakers, over an hour was used before the first questions were able to be asked, the meeting got down to business.
I greatly appreciate the City Council forcing this meeting and for the agenda that allowed the people to express their questions. I appreciate the Mayor and his attempts to move the meeting along while giving each speaker a respectful greeting and opportunity to speak. I appreciate Mr. Holcomb, who was in a very uncomfortable position most of the night, making such a strong effort to answer each question. I appreciate the huge number of citizens who were in attendance, standing room only, and asked some incredibly good and appropriate questions while maintaining a decorum of civility. People who feel they are being given a fair shake usually do act respectful and orderly.
Here is your opportunity to discuss the meeting last night.
There will be an Electric Power Board Meeting on 23 July at 5:30 PM in City Hall to continue this question and answer opportunity. What began last night must continue with a huge crowd of citizens if we are going to make a difference in our future and the future of our children. People who faced the crowd and asked their questions last night should feel very proud of themselves for standing up and firmly declaring
this is our lives and we are going to take responsibility for what happens to us.
