Giles Free Speech Zone

The purpose of the "Giles Free Speech Zone" is to identify problems of concern to the people of Giles County, to discuss them in a gentlemanly and civil manner, while referring to the facts and giving evidence to back up whatever claims are made, making logical arguments that avoid any use of fallacy, and, hopefully, to come together in agreement, and find a positive solution to the problem at hand. New Rules For School Fees

Under a new state rule, school systems no longer can require student fees for any course offered for a credit or grade. This change took effect 28 August 2009.

Prior to the new rule, schools had to waive fees for students on free and reduced lunch, but now that measure extends to all students regardless of their parents' income. School boards are also mandated to approve a list of school fees.
